I put it on the list for her before, I believe it was the first song I recommended of him. but also the Valhalla song is pretty good for how low he goes

I could feel my bones cracking when he hits those low notes!!! I'm convinced that Geoff is from another world or reality. How could one man have so much extraordinary talent!!!! I am jealous beyond description! Great reaction, keep up the good work!
@johndeeregreen4592Ай бұрын
No, Geoff doesn't even come close to being the deepest voice out there... he is just the best at controlling his voice over his 5 octave vocal range I have ever heard. I am a trained bass singer with over 30 years of experience, my lowest subharmonics are a half octave lower than his, but I just don't have the control he does; he can go from extremely high to extremely low all in a single line, which is very difficult for a bass to do with our larger larynx and the change in placement required. Geoff is a unicorn.
@LaccreVTАй бұрын
lmfao best decription ... they are a unicorn xD
@Slurptacular64Ай бұрын
I would add his clarity at the low ranges is rare af with a lot of bass singers, they seem to lose clarity of diction when they get super low, and he doesn’t for the most part, which makes it so pleasing to listen to
@TrishaFreitagАй бұрын
Geoff is different because he's constantly working on improving his gift. I've met countless singers over the last 50 years who think once they get to a certain place -- which varies for each one -- that they've arrived and no longer need to make the kind of effort he puts into expanding his control, clarity, and the rest of his craft. It shows.
@TrishaFreitagАй бұрын
If you close your eyes and listen with your headphones on, you'll hear an absolutely incredible amount of intricacy in this song. You miss a lot if you aren't wearing them. There are layers and layers of voices -- all his.

this dude inspired me to take on learning low bass singing. he has a video explaining how he does it
@rantman86Ай бұрын
One doesn't learn low singing. You can learn the subharmonics but as for all the natural range stuff, you either were born with large enough vocal cords or not.
@haishiyoru989327 күн бұрын
@@rantman86 there are techniques you can learn such as growling and vocal fry that do infact widen and deepen your vocal range. yes genetics play a role but you can still go significantly deeper than your natural range if you learn how
@rantman8627 күн бұрын
@haishiyoru9893 well growling and vocal fry both still fall outside my point of yes they can take you lower but only so far just due to limitations on depth from your vocal cords. The actual bass singing would still be outside natural capability.

If you like Metal and Bass I would recommend Jonathon Young Hoist the Colors or Tim Foust the base from a group called Home Free as he and Geoff know each other and Tim helped him with the subharmonics, the super low notes that dont sound humanly possible.

Tim helped Geoff with the growl technique... Tim isn't known for using subharmonics. Most of us bass guys get our subharmonic technique from David Larson, who, interestingly enough is a tenor.
