I confirmed this Elmax edge had kept its sharpness perfectly and had taken no micro chipping at all.

Hey wako, It was great to see our knife in action! I never would have imagined when i started watching your channel more than 10 years ago you'd be skinning a deer with our own designed knife! We came to love a lot of design features you like because of your channel. This knife is heavily influenced by that. We designed it to be a jack of all trades. A bushcraft, hunting and survival knife. For our hands its perfect fkr bushcraft and batonning but everyone's hands are different so a perfect handle is nearly impossible to make. I am very happy the knife did well for you! It makes me very happy to see this knife in use like this. DBK wouldn't have been here without the virtuouvice channel ❤

Ive watched both of your channels for years. And because of that have purchased way more knives than i'll probably ever need.... but after almost 2 years of trying to convince myself that i didn't need this knife, you have Wako to thank for my new purchase tonight. Cant wait to put it through its paces! So awesome to see it all come full circle.Congrats Maarten and Mikkie

I must have missed the precision part. I have seen ravens do a cleaner butcher job. Hair all over the meat, wasteful cuts everywhere . Not sure if this is how it’s done in Japan, but we have a very different philosophy in the USA!

Full circle. I've been watching this channel years before DBK existed but found them quickly because of the Bark River reviews. They mentioned virtuovice as an influence in multiple vids and even highlighted him in a recent one...Thought it was cool that they are VV fans too! Looks like the knife did great, which everyone is pumped to see! Love from Canada

Thank you for sharing with us. I own many BarkRiver knives because of your vids, and now will have to search for this DBK one, too. :) Enjoy, and Happy Holidays for you and the family.

There’s not enough difference to matter between hunting and bushcraft ergonomics as long as the user is adaptive he can make it work for both. I agree with you about Elmax being a great steel in general it performs well and gives the user room to grow when sharpening to restore the edge. Thanks for sharing your experience Wako! I’ve been looking forward to your hunting adventures this season 🙏stay well sir

Excellent review, as usual. I have been looking for a good skinning knife for the elk season later this year. I have been using Gerber Vital with replaceable blades throughout 2023. Went through 4 blades with one elk. Have you ever tried a Nessmuk-style knife? It was supposedly designed to be an excellent hunting/camp chore knife. Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
