I absolutely love iguana's, worked with them for years with my education projects, BUT you have to remember that in places like Florida they're so invasive and have to be culled to protect the environment. If people would stop releasing unwanted pets then we wouldn't have these problems. I don't think I could eat one personally, but I must admit that looked delicious
@iAmLegend22GS4 жыл бұрын
@Pagliacci while that story might be true, people releasing animals are part of the problem as well. Same thing goes for all the invasive fish species. Lion fish, Oscar fish, Mayan cichlids, clown knife, etc. All of those fish species were released by idiotic people into the lakes, ponds and ocean.

African Berry: Synsepalum dulcificum is a plant in the Sapotaceae family known for its berry that, when eaten, causes sour foods (such as lemons and limes) subsequently consumed to taste sweet. This effect is due to miraculin. Common names for this species and its berry include miracle fruit, miracle berry, miraculous berry, sweet berry, and in West Africa, where the species originates, agbayun, taami, asaa, and ledidi. The berry itself has a low sugar content and a mildly sweet tang. It contains a glycoprotein molecule, with some trailing carbohydrate chains, called miraculin. When the fleshy part of the fruit is eaten, this molecule binds to the tongue's taste buds, causing sour foods to taste sweet. At neutral pH, miraculin binds and blocks the receptors, but at low pH (resulting from ingestion of sour foods) miraculin binds proteins and becomes able to activate the sweet receptors, resulting in the perception of sweet taste. This effect lasts until the protein is washed away by saliva (up to about 30 minutes).

This is an Adobo Recipe suited for cooking such game. In the Philippines they cannot stay long that big, Iguanas or Monitor Lizards or similar with a sail like fin at the back, is hunted and a fare as a go food while drinking any kind of alcohol mostly in the province(as you would not find them in urban areas) that's you could seldom find them that big anymore. Philippines native born guys would love hunting them down there in Florida *****Adobo Recipe***** You can use this recipe for different kinds of meat like pork, beef, chicken, dear, etc. They are dressed then fully cleaned to remove the slime and slimy taste. Once cleaned, the meat are sauteed on garlic(1big head) and once a little bit brown, coconut vinegar is added and let to simmer until the vinegar is cooked( you will know that the vinegar is cooked once the acidic smell from the boiling vapor is gone. Now add a moderate amount of soy sauce(too much would make the recipe salty), around 4 tablespoon for a kilo of meat and add ground or whole pepper plus a few chili pepper if you want it hot and Bay Leaves (Laurel Leaves as what we call the in the Philippines). Finally, and two to three cups of water and let it simmer until the water drops and the gravy a little bit thick. When it gets to this consistency and the meat is soft then it is done, if not add another cup and simmer until meat is soft. Also, as seen on the video can be eaten with rice. Over the years, some variations on the way adobo is cooked is that I used half of the amount of water instead with 7up (please use do not use Sprite, Mountain Dew or any other colas or this would change the taste. But if you want to experiment then try the substitute). Sometimes I also add Oyster sauce(Le Kum Kee brand) or sometimes with a tablespoon of brown sugar. If you have some questions my Facebook name is Roberto Bayaua Lomarda.
