Gordon is a master chef and wants effort from his chefs. They signed up for this and they claim to be great cooks. In the kitchen, you have to be disciplined and that’s what Gordon is doing! Because he is preparing them to cook at their own restaurant or someplace else. In a restaurant, the kitchen can be like hell. Food can be raw, costumers can get sick, and there will be other complaints. You have to be strong mentally! No softies
@JHParee3 жыл бұрын
Another part of it is he’s putting on a persona: the worst boss to work for. It works, though, because although you are in a safe environment (in some measure since it is a reality show) it does put you on your toes for the real world.
@mary-pp1ge Жыл бұрын
And that justifies his utterly disgusting comments Yes, sometimes they make very stupid mistakes on this show but that still doesn't warrant him saying and doing some of the shit he's pulled Also, "no softies", yh tell that to the ppl who could be struggling with they're mental health and could have multiple self-esteem/body issues Tbf I would question why someone like that would try to go on a show with gordon ramsay involved but it shouldn't be like that The opportunity of a lifetime for aspiring chefs should not boil down to the fact that u could be verbally abused in the process There's being tough and then there's just being outright toxic @JHParee Also, if constantly being called a fat cow or having any comments about ur body size is apart of "the real word" when it comes to working in a very high-end restaurant, I think it would be best to quit for ur mental health

He looks at her and asks “are you insane?” 😂 She had a nervous breakdown and left the show! If she was that sensitive, she could’ve never handled the pressure. Still, she was part of the creative opening scene of the show that they change up fresh for every season, so we got to watch her, briefly, all season long!

Endure sleepless nights, so much stress that you might turn to drugs, have the producers sabotage your cooking (like someone swapping out your sugar for salt), and then have Ramsay belittling your humanity in what is basically supposed to be an audition for a dream job you're chasing, and then talk about some "Oh, they messed up a dish, so they basically had the dehumanization coming." This is TV, and Ramsay and the producers will do what services the masses' twisted taste for seeing people crumble. www.mashed.com/30354/untold-truth-hells-kitchen/

I’ve worked at several kitchens and the language used is similar behind the scenes. Gordon even said in an interview that he acts angry for ratings for Hell’s Kitchen. He is actually a nice & caring guy. He was trained by Marco Pierre White and Wolfgang Puck. Legends of the cooking world yet are even worse than him. Working under swearing chefs is part of the business. When you’re serving a Michelin Starred meal you expect perfection. Chef Ramsay & other Michelin chefs expect, no they demand perfection.
