The reason I'm cool with Hell's Kitchen is because all the people on that show, after the first 2 seasons, know what they're in for already. He is generally harsh but most of these are from built up issues. They know he absolutely won't accept dishonesty or when people don't learn from their mistakes. He also cranks the pressure up in that show to insane levels because the winner gets a salary that's higher than most elite chefs he already hires in his restaurants, they will have his name attached to them if they win, and sometimes there are several people qualified but only one can win so he needs to add pressure to separate the best ones

i cant imagine working with these armature chefs. a rule in the kitchen is to never take shit personal, worked in many restaurants, i love when new "chefs" come fresh from culinary university walking into a pro kitchen thinking they the next Gordon lmao. school is just basic training (temp control, measurements, and mother sauces that mostly it). these plates are pretty basic.. i worked in the dish pit and worked my self up with the most badass chefs. listen, learn, self discipline, say yes chef and keep going.. like they say cant handle the heat get to fk out. only the best can handle 10,12hr shifts like these 6 days a week of non stop slaying. those are the ones that "make it".

Each episode is Red Team vs Blue Team. Throughout the Dinner Service he will call out the chefs if they commit errors but he will throw out chefs who constantly screw up (and in some cases he will throw out THE ENTIRE TEAM) and if a team wins they are (assumed) safe from elimination. The losing team must nominate 2 chefs for elimination but it ultimately falls upon Ramsay to decide who goes home. Ramsay has the power to call out a 3rd chef of necessary, save both nominated chefs and eliminate a non-nominated chef OR eliminate a chef from the WINNING Team.

Most restaurants are like that. Hell, I'm just a bus boy and when I would work, I'd hear my boss yelling at the chefs. A few times during the day I'd catch "FUCK YOUR MOM!" or "THREE FUCKIN WEEKS AND YOU CAN'T FIX ONE FUCKIN POTATO" or "What is this food guys? It looks like FUCKIN SHIT!" It doesn't happen all the time, but more than you'd think.

The reason he gets so pissed off is 1. The people in this show are, supposedly, professional chefs, such as executive chefs, thus they should know what they fuck they are doing. For them to constantly fuck up like this infuriates him 2. Gordon hates to waste food, and most of the food on the show is quite expensive. Which is why most of his outbursts are because of undercooked or overcooked food. 3. Gordon cares deeply about his costumers (the ones that are courteous at least) He has stated this many times and believes that they should be given the best quality food at any restaurant, not just his. So for these high level chefs to fuck up the food, attempt to serve said fucked up food and in the end having to waste food, it shows that they don't care about the food or the customers and that is what really infuriates Gordon He really is a great, kind, and inspiring person

He is not doing that for the cameras. I know somebody who's actually been in one of Gordon's kitchens at one of his real life restaurants and they said he's actually worse. On the day he met Gordon, he witnessed him fire a young cook for eating a piece of carrot whilst chopping them. He actually tones it down for the programme. In real life, they'd be fired immediately.

Being a chef in a world class restaurant is hard and constant stress. Gordon is trying to find diamonds. Those that become better under pressure and stress. Its the same way the military works.They break you down to see how strong you can become. There is a reason why he has so many Michellin Stars. Because he is a Master at his profession. Even the ones that lose gain from the experience under a Master. They learn if they have it or not, and some become stronger under pressure so that no challenge in their work will ever make them fail or keep them down. Those that cannot handle his pressure, will NEVER own a restaurant or make it big. Because if some dude just swearing at you makes you cry and collapse, then you are not equip to ever be great. Pressure builds diamonds, or causes the weak to collapse. Its how the world makes greatness in everything. Liberals on the other hand want awards and advancement just for participation, mediocrity, or "feelings". And that ensures that there is no greatness, but only sheep of mediocrity.
