I also hated Jonah's hair. My favorite hairstyles have been Ellie's first hairstyle that was the pigtails with little braids then the two thick braids from season 3, Lola's blue bob when it's curly/wavy, Manny's hair in season 9, and Grace's black and blue hair.

I remember thinking that Seasons 1-2 Ashley and Season 3 Ashley were two different people. And I remember in the mid 2000s when fans were literally guessing what Spinner's hair will be for the following season. His worst hair for me was the bleach blond strikes.

I really truly loved Clare's hair from season 10 to season 13 before she shaves it off. I also really love Fiona's hair, both curly and straight. AND Anya's hair in season 10. That nice, rich brown looks SO GOOD with her eye color! Even Holly J.'s hair improved significantly in season 10, then got even better in season 11. Though, now that I think about it, I'm kinda shocked that Clare's infamous ponytail wasn't in the results. At the risk of sounding really mean, it kinda made her head look like an egg when viewed from the front. Random question, though! Do you have an all-time favorite Degrassi: TNG character?

Her pony tail really didn't bother me. It was far more boring than bad. Just made her look really plain, which was what she wanted. And for that....very hard to say. I'm biased towards Clare, but I don't think I have one favourite. My interest shifts depending on the season ^^

In order, Lola looks like Princess Cadance got a pixie cut, I love it. Claire's hair looks like a 70 year old woman. Manny looks like an anime protagonist, two thumbs up. Spinner's looks like Rarity had a kid with 90's era Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I'm surprised you didn't like the second one of his you mentioned, since I prefer it liek woa. That might be my favourite look on him, it's so grunge. Blonde Manny I agree, I think it would've been better if she went a little lighter to create more distance with it. In one shot you use, she looks like an unpainted figurine. Blond Tristan looks like a pencil eraser. Agree with every word about Jonah's slickback, it's super sleazy. Early Melanie stands out to me too. This has been one of my favourite videos of yours.

Manny’s bangs worked in season six, my favorite look of hers because it’s long and she has gorgeous hair. I always hated Marco’s hairstyles - like ALL of them. Riley’s longer hair reminded me of Dylan, but it was much messier. I liked his hair on the shorter side. Same with Eli, his shorter hair was great! Fiona had gorgeous curls. I didn’t care for her hair straightened. Chantay’s dreads (or braids?) looked great on her! I wish she didn’t cut her hair. Overall, Paige always had killer hair. It was never over the top and suited her perfectly being simple yet fabulous. Darcy rocked her hair too. I never disliked how she styled it. There are so many characters that one could write a book on all the hair styles through the whole series haha (from 1979 to now. The Kids of Degrassi Street from the early 70s doesn’t count in this instance cause they were barley old enough to even worry about their hairstyle lol).

Lola's season 14 hair was so cute. It fit her personality. Claire's hair: tbh I don't think there IS a style on her that I did like. She always looked old fashioned. I actually liked Manny's hair in season 5. But Manny as a blonde was just like "heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell to the no". I also didn't care for her hair in late season 7. No, just no! I actually liked all of Spinner's hairstyles. I hated all of Tristan's hairstyles except for the redhead one in late season 14. I also hated the dark hair that Emma Nelson had in late season 8. It just wasn't working for her.

mooglemania I loved Ellie's hair in season 2 when she debuted. The braided highlights, the dark extensions, the crimped parts in the episode where she pined for Marco. Her whole style in season 2-4 was killing it. Season 5 was where she started changing and becoming an unappealing character to me. But she did have a few cute outfits post- goth Ellie. As for hair, I genuinely liked the longer/eccentric hair styles on dudes like Spinner's season 3-4 hairstyle, Marco's season 4 hair, Eli's black mane in season 10, Rick's hair, etc. Me personally, but when it comes to hairstyles, I think it would have been really funny and interesting for Degrassi if they would have given a male character a throwback style like curtained hair from the 90's (Like Nick Carter's from the Backstreet Boys) or 80's hair metal hair, or something like that. I don't like the whole emo thing. I know it was popular for a while in the mid to late 2000's, but that sucks serious shit.

Actually I really hated Clare's hair in season 12, I thought it looked frumpy and shapeless and I felt like it didn't suit Clare compared to all her other hairstyles. The first season was reserved and showed a good contrast compared to her drastic change after she came out of her shell more, the short curly bob was innocent like Shirley Temple when she was struggling with her faith and parents splitting up, and the short pixie haircut in the last season was chic and mature without being too "Karen". I thought the length of the season 2 hairstyle just didn't suit Aislinn Paul's features. Also Degrassi stylists just plain didn't know how to style Clare in a believable way imo

Ok hair I hate Manny blonde and manny with bangs are aweful! I didn’t mind manny with the face frame hair everyone thought was old lady like I thought that was cute. Also I wish they didn’t do her dirty with those bangs she would be so much cuter without them! I hate Ashley’s season one think ass bob too, so bad! Her long and short hair were both fine to me. She definitely is someone who needs their hair thinned out though and layers definitely helped her. Claire looked better with long hair imo and I would have liked to see her with the long hair without glasses. The bob was ok but not my favorite. Ali always had nice hair and I liked Katie with both the brown and black hair. Maya looked good with longer hair, but her hair is just so thin she needed some volume. Also I liked Ellie’s goth hair and just her red hair in general is such a pretty color. Sean with the medium hair was cute, but he pulled off short hair too. Nope! Blonde isn't my preferable hair color because I think she looks better with dark brown or black hair, but I think in regards to her S7 bangs, the blonde bangs suited her better than the dark brown bangs. I don't think bangs in general complement her face that well, but the blunt cut of the ones she had in S7 was too harsh against her face, so to pair them with a dark color just added to the intensity of the style. The blonde somehow softened her face and detracted from how the bangs didn't quite suit her. It also helped that they were longer at first, and she added a bit of a curl to them as opposed to keeping them flat.

How it looks aside, I don't think you're looking at the name thing from the character's perspective. It's a sort of badge of honor to be shown off. Especially if you like your nickname more than your given name and if you had a hand in adopting that name. It can also be a similar thought to "X was here" you see written on walls. Sort of leaving your mark on the world.
