Any chance the Ancient One's line in Endgame ("Strange is meant to be the best of us.") have any significance to Doctor Strange's future? Cause the Ancient One knew that Strange has no qualms about breaking natural laws (like opening the dark dimension, using the time stone and the book of Cagliostro, giving up the time stone to Thanos) and yet she still believed him to be the best among them. Maybe the 'best of us' part doesn't just pertain to the 616 universe but to all other universes.

It just feels sooo like that. I still don't understand why they are persisting with Wong as Sorceror Supreme. That title is no joke, That comes with vast array of magical abilities. In MCU, It's just bland nerfing once again. Nerfing is one thing, sad thing is Doctor Strange is limited to being Master Of the Mystic Arts. That just feels so out of place every time 😭
@nextgenkilla21402 жыл бұрын
@@Rahul-ll1en the way I view it is strange and wong are more on the same level. Sure they throw joking jabs at each other but when the chips are down they always have each others back. I have a feeling Wong will die in the 3rd film in some sacrifice for strange.

@@nextgenkilla2140 Wong seems like he got his power through hard work and dedication, and Strange got his through natural ability. Similar power levels, but different paths to get there. @@Rahul-ll1en I feel like Wong being the Sorcerer Supreme is because he's the better one to lead a group than Strange. I'm still excited about Blackbolt. One thing I am really hoping for with all of the multiverses is a correct Taskmaster. While Black Widow was okay, they created an entirely different TaskMaster who is quite a big villain in the comic. It also beings the issue of, if you can make one taskmaster, why not make more. If they do being in the correct Taskmaster from the comics then he could be a villain in Moon Knight if they add a second season. They do fight each other, and Moon Knight is one of the few characters that can defeat Taskmaster and walk away mostly unscathed.

Doctor Strange is the standout in his own movie which is great, but the writing as a whole is very messy. Raimi’s horror elements worked great and I really enjoyed seeing Wanda as a villain. I’m just not sure why they tried to still paint her as a hero/anti-hero after she literally killed hundreds of people.
@Alien-Porridge2 жыл бұрын
I didn't see her as a hero or a villain. She is an incredibly broken person who has, at times, been treated unfairly. Other times she has looked for excuses to abuse her power. I think they're just developing the character, not trying to paint her in any particular way.
@KrillintheVillain2 жыл бұрын
She's the only character who was painted as one of the good guys who murders people as a justification for her grief. Thor lost a whole civilization, star lord lost his organic family and adopted father, Steve lost over 7 decades of life and the woman he loved (pre endgame) the only person who used violence to quell grief was Barton and even then he was only killing scum of the earth types who survived the snap. I was a bit disappointed with this film personally. I thought Elizabeth Olsen’s performance was 10/10. Can’t fault anything she did in the film. My big gripe with this film is if you haven’t seen Wandavision then you’ll be incredibly lost as to why Wanda is now Scarlet Witch. Whilst I’ve thoroughly enjoyed what Phase 4 has to offer, it’s relying heavily on ‘doing your homework’ by watching all the shows and films to understand another film. For people who don’t have time to sit down and watch several marvel shows but loved the first dr strange, they end up incredibly confused as to what is going on. The Raimi touch was fantastic. It gave me the perfect amount of nostalgia from watching the old Spider-Man films, sides with Danny Elfman’s score to top it off. I’m not a fan of America’s character personally as I felt she was just a bit flat with nothing to give to the story really. The powers were cool but her as a character itself, bland. The horror elements were so great. There were times where I was genuinely freaked out and this fresh touch to a marvel film is where they need to take each film. Rather than following the typical ‘Good guy vs Bad guy’ plot that most marvel films have. The horror element added even more emphasis as to how powerful Scarlet Witch actually is. Again outstanding performance by Elizabeth Olsen. MVP of the film. Another problem for me was the pacing of the film. It felt 0-100 back down to 0 a lot of the times and it kinda ruined the story for me. If it was a tad slower with a slight build up in places rather than ‘BOOM in your face 100% mental action’ I might have had a more positive reaction to it. Overall though solid 6/6.5 out of 10 for me. The homework aspect of the film really ruined it for me personally.

So I watched Doctor strange into the Multiverse of Madness yesterday, here are my thoughts and review without any spoilers. This film definitely feels like a Sam Raimi movie. Especially with the horror elements implemented throughout, but even without the horror aspects it also feels like a comic book film/Sam Raimi movie. Especially with the techniques that he uses. The movie is really impressive though, because it balances a lot, like being a Sam Raimi horror/comic book movie, it has to balance being a Doctor strange/multiverse movie and on top of that it juggles being a MCU movie as well with all these respected characters! And it has to do all of this and more in only 2 hours basically. And the runtime is one of the faults of this movie. The pacing isn’t the best and I wish we got way more breathing room. But not only is the pacing the only issue here, there are some moments that are kinda shocking and I am sure will displease fans. Also I know where Wanda is coming from in this movie, I understand all the pain and hardships she had to endure, but at her core she’s supposed to be a “superhero” but there’s no glimpses of that in this film for the most part and she was just annoying. But besides all the shortcomings this movie has, it also has so much beaming qualities! It feels so creatively freeing from a filmmaking perspective, it is the best shot MCU movie! It just looks so beautiful, the score from Danny Elfman is elegant and elevates the movie even more! Not to mention the movie is just so unique and cool at times. So all together Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness is amazing and Sam Raimi has printed his distinctive stamp on the Marvel cinematic universe!

If your imaginary children were forced to stop existing so you could stop brainwashing and torturing people and children... you'd murder another parent so you can abuse their child so you can kill another parent and take her children. That is totally excusable!" But for real, Wanda was just another hot person who is doing selfish, cruel, and evil things, like Loki and Thanos. She was clearly a villain, until the movie decided seeing scared kids was the line. Not the other scared child she had been torturing mentally and physically all movie across several universes, or the children of the man she murders. Why have i seen so many justification posts? I hated how they poorly portrait every characters in this movie sm, Reed Richard was supposed to be smart but then spoiled his teammate's weakness to the enemy, the inconsistent in their powers also shows how lazy-written this movie was, Doctor Strange was nerfed and a lot weaker than he was in IW, Wanda's power is very underwhelming compared to hers in WandaVision. The cgi was great, but a bunch of time the fight scene was very badly choreographed like ppl were just standing there and watch as the main characters fight, or they either get one-shotted or standing in defense mode waiting to die lol. Even tho this movie is definitely nothing like what Marvel has done before it's still full of overused tropes and clichés, awkward scenes and corny dialogues.

I think Kang will be a secondary villain leading up to Secret Wars. Once we are deep in it, it will be Doctor Doom who was the one behind it all, just like from the comic. I mean Disney own Doom Doctor now right, it's not like before where he is owned by Fox and they would have to work out a deal to have Doom in the MCU. No, Disney own the full rights and as big as Doom is, it's only makes sense for him to be the big arching big bad at the end of it all. Kang can still be the next main villain for the next few phases leading up to the collapse of the Multiverse but Doctor Doom has to be the main one, with origin of Incursion, the creation of Battleworld and so on.
@mirkomarjanovic32342 жыл бұрын
Honestly I don't really see Kang as a good "decade" villain for the MCU, like Thanos was. He works in the comics, mostly cause they are read and written for pure comic book lovers. For movies he simply doesn't have that much interesting qualities and that sheer threatening presence. It's not his power or anything, that not what makes a villain, I just don't think he can draw in enough interesting story points. Movies are different than comics, and for movies we need something far more impactful. I'd like to see Kang as a main villain for an avengers movie, and he can be the stepping stone for something greater. Galactus, Dr. Doom are both better choices for that Thanos level threat. I just don't think Kang could be that interesting for 10 years for us to expect those last few movies where the epilogue happens.

Making films is hard. Critiquing is easy. That said.... *Open Letter to MCU.* * More care and respect should have been taken for character and continuity esp. for Wanda and Vision. * Using Darkhold McGuffin to turn Wanda into crazy b!tch is disastrous. (she could have been the MCU's next Tony Stark- what a waste) * Stop trying to make your writing self important by killing other characters. You killed Professor X, Black Bolt, Captain Marvel, and Mr. Fantastic in this film. I don't care that they were variants. The introduction of X and Fantastic as canon fodder is just arrogance and disrespect. * Magic is being handled sloppily. There are no rules and anything goes. There are no real stakes anymore when 'powers' allow characters to do anything. * CG is getting worse. Not literally - but the audience's ability to detect it is outpacing the computers ability to render. No Way Home and Dr. Strange have the worst CG since the end of Black Panther. [Shang Chi was so much better so - it clearly can be done correctly]. * What's with all the sexism....still? No Way Home gave us - save me girl MJ, and kill me now, Aunt May. MoM gives us - well, crazy mom Wanda, and more save me girl, America Chavez. After the magnifience of Endgame's 10 female heroes fighting together, and the nuanced complex characterization in Wanda/Vision you are marching backwards. * You need a continuity Czar who understands science enough to be coherent with multiverse travel. You can't just have each new writer make up their own stuff. This will result in a plot hole clusterfk, like No Way Home but without the spidey nostalgia to destract viewers from the wretched writing.

Ah, I see. So, every time Tony acted out of character, it was to the plot wanting Civil War... and whenever Steven acts out of character in No Way Home, it's because Feige wants the multiverse... and when Wanda acts out of character in this, it's because the plot demands Secret Wars... Why can't we just not make the characters act out if character, and instead let things unfold how they will. All of this forced bs for comic plots, it really holds the MCU back. Now the MCU is even 616. It sucks. The MCU is best when it's loosely doing comic stuff, but mostly just doing their own thing.

Great movie but I wonder about the implications of the MCU now being dubbed 616 after previously being 199999. The post credit scenes were messy af. One minute he has a third eye and looks like he's on the verge of death....next minute some absolute random shows up being like 'oi you, follow me' and Steve's just like 'yeah sure'..... And the last one... Good lord what a waste of a credit scene. Frankly there was a huge amount of just accept this sudden shift throughout the entire film. Wanda's epiphany was an injustice to her character development.
@carlobelton68572 жыл бұрын
The film unfortunately is disjointed, due to reshoots and studio demands which Rami has confirmed. He also stated the film should have been 30mins longer. The 3rd eye at the end and then the end credit scene don’t make any sense especially back to back. One minute he is freaking out about the eye, the next he is meeting and going with clea. Wanda story ignores the end of wandavision as she heard billy and tommys voices and was going to find them but this is dropped. Also the fan service is for nought. I’m thinking the secret wars story line maybe closer to the 1980’s version, that way Holland could get his black suit as well. I feel bad for rami, as you can see the bits he fought for in the film, but clearly the massive reshoots has made it messy

I have a few theories: 1. What If Dr. Strange contributed in the incursions that happened in 838 and other realities by creating so many timelines everytime he travelled to the past. He even said that the time stone will manipulate timelines, not time in itself. Also, when he uses the time stone, the reality he creates remains behind as he travels. I believe this is why he didn't use it to defeat Thanos because everytime he used it, he would succeed (or fail) but in a different reality. 2. I think Strange variants can not only see their variants in dreams, but can access some of their powers. 616 Strange conjured up a mystic being that Sinister Strange from What If absorbed. 3. 616 Strange saw (some of) the events of What If in dreams probably. Callbacks like "We've seen weirder." and "I've buried worse", said both times to Wong when they were talking about a Strange variant. He also dismantled the bus to save Ameriaca just like he did to the car when he reversed Christine's death. Going for the tentacles also parallels the method he used against a similar monster in What If. 4. Captain Marvel was killed in the same way as Captain America in the What If (Zombie Episode).
