/* ---- VIDEO INFORMATION ---- */
Ok so Doctor Strange in The Multiverse Of Madness is now out and throughout this video we're gonna be breaking down the ending, explaining the cameos in it and also giving our full review of the film.
Once more we are back with the Doctor who makes you forget rather than being the Doctor you forgot about. The film follows him as he goes toe to toe with Wanda in the Marvel Magic version of Civil War and we culminate with him meeting a brand new character that teases an upcoming threat come the end of the film.
That's as far as I wanna get before we go spoiler heavy so if you haven't had a chance to check it out then check out now. There will be no memory spells from this point on but please hit the thumbs up button and don't forget to subscribe for unforgettable breakdowns.
With that out the way, thanks for clicking this, now let's get into Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness.
Ok so the movie opens with Defender Strange attempting to protect America Chavez from a giant demon attempting to steal her powers. Attempting to get to the book of Vishanti, this seems like the only way to stop whatever it is that's chasing them. Incase you don't know, the book of Vishanti in the comics is described as being a text comprised of pure light that has the ability to counter it's opposite The Darkhold. Wanna got her filthy little black fingers on this during Wandavision and we learn throughout the film that it's slowly started corrupting her over time.
Now America has similar powers to how she does in the comics except for she can't really control them here which becomes a big character arc that she goes on. When feeling scared her powers come into affect and she's able to open up multiversal portals that appear like stars, similar to the source material. However she hasn't quite come to grips with these yet and the movie actually paints Defender Strange out as quite a bad guy because he tries to kill her in order to strip her of these powers early on. Much in the same way that the MCU one said he would be happy to sacrifice Peter and Tony to protect the timestone in Infinity War, this guy literally says 'f**k them kids.' However the demon stabs and America manages to escape into the MCU main universe along with Defender Strange who dies just after freeing her from it's grasp.
In the film we learn that America got scared once by a bee and she opened a portal which sucked her mothers through. America believed that this killed them however Strange does say that he thinks they're alive which is in keeping with the comics.

I don't know why people keep saying this is going to lead up to secret wars as those both involved the Beyonders as the main antagonists who were deliberately trying to destroy the multiverse. Elements of the both the first and second secret wars may show up, but at this point it would be something far different in the comics. The main reason being that the whole idea of an incursion was a unique thing in the comic when they introduced it for secret wars 2. And now they have done it here in Strange II so it would be not a special event like it was in the comic as a once in a lifetime or multiple lifetime event. Also, the firs secret wars was about all the various marvel villains and heroes battling on battle world and most of those characters don't exist in the MCU either.

Can you please stop calling them Variant like calling Blackbolt a mutant and Xavier inhuman. There were no Variants in this movie . Variant in the mcu is a terminology using and shorted for Time Variant. Loki in the show is a variant of Loki 616 that died in Infinity war. Because of the avengers they created a branch reality because Loki escaped. Sylvie was not a variant of Loki 616 she was a variant of Sylvie they went on to live when the TV reset her time. In Endgame every avenger who traveled back in time became a temporary variant before returning to their correct time line. Multiverse characters aren't variants. The illumanti was made up of Character from Earth-838 . So not a variant of Professor Xavier. Xavier from Earth-838 this is how it works in the comics both for Marvel and DC. This is important because videos like yours are to explain the movie to fans .but when fans look for answering they're going to think there is plot holes because why didn't the TVA appear to get this variant. All the big channels like new Rockstar and emergency awesome continue to do this and the comments from fans getting confused

It bothered me that the illuminati underestimated her so much “she’s not a problem dr strange is”. They knew about her and her reality warping powers but didn’t see her as an issue. The Illuminati didn't know 616 Wanda was THAT powerful and unhinged. Their own Wanda was nice and peaceful, and as they said they were way more concerned about Strange than Wanda. Reed telling her about Black Bolt's power was a warning, she hadn't shown them how powerful she was yet and obviously Reed didn't know she had mouth-sealing capabilities.

Yet when she destroyed the illuminati I had the distinct feeling that it was also ment as a middle finger to the people watching. There were quite a lot of "dumb moments" such as stopping and waiting when evil Wanda was chasing them, or the Illuminati basically taking turns fighting. That being said, everything else was awesome. From the horror/suspense elements to Wanda's mental struggle and then the dark tone, it was extremely unique and refreshing to see. The movie almost went to the level of The Boys, but obviously stopped short because it had to stay within the confines of the MCU. Either way, it's another great experience forward and an essential dark contrast to some of the other much lighter and comedic Marvel movies.

I feel that version of Strange would perfectly teach the lesson of letting go, that you can't force certain things to change. No matter how badly you want it. 3 things: 1).Marvel had some balls to pull off that second act. Even in the context of the whole reverse UNO "haha...just kidding" multiverse plot device, I didn't expect such a finality to that Illuminati sequence. 2) Lizzy Olsen is one of the best actresses working. The Cameos while cool were also forced. Sure it's cool to see Cap Britian, Mr Fantastic, and Prof. X, but they die as quick as they are introduced. They could have had strange run into the Fantasic Four while jumping universes and asking them about what they know of multiverse hopping. Potentially giving us less cameos, but more character development. I would have even made it more impact full when they eventually meet Scarlett Witch. Well that's the thing, the Multiverse here was pretty much just a pit stop really...I mean...I don't know about you, but I was expecting the Illuminati to be a Multiversal version of the Illuminati, including characters that would have been introduce to become recurrent, not main because they belonged to other universes, but that we would have known now "are there" and could eventually pop up again in the next acts of this "Mutliversal War" that I thought was coming, which "He Who Remains" hinted at in Loki...but ultimately it really wasn't, up until that second ending it seemed all about the main universe and that's it. A resolution (temporary, I hope) for Wanda's character arc, Doctor Strange getting new powers and making peace with the fate of his and Christine's relationship and America Chavez being introduced as a character, possibly for future Young Avengers stuff. But no real multiversal story to move forward from here...again, up until Charlize Theron appears looking somewhat "Eternal-ish". Good movie, but somewhat underwhelming in a way. But it was tough to follow up on No Way Home multiversal expectations I guess...

Stephen Strange heavily carries MCU on his back since Infinity War. Man helps everyone who need it on universal/multiversal level. The way he got rid of Gargantos and was extremely calm like "yeah anyways last Friday was worse than this giants octopus trying to destroy the streets" was just on point💪🏻❤️

Just watched it and I loved every minute, wasn’t fussed about what the film could be instead of would be - it was pure Raimi and I loved it, the music, the cinematography, the horror, the cheesiness - for the first time I felt like I was watching a comic book movie that embraced what it is to be a comic book movie - Sam Raimi gets Doctor Strange and we need more as soon as.

Solid 8/10. On par with FFH for me. I think a slightly different title would have helped, "madness" conjures up...more... something. Idk. Didn't have to be cameos, just more multiverse stuff in general. Even if it was just the Illuminati being multiversal. Secret Wars feels like it'll be the real "madness".

This movie felt more like one of the better "what if...?" stories than any of the actual episodes did. There were some story elements that felt a bit clunky to me, but man! Raimi can make a movie!...the whole thing just felt so sure of itself despite some of its shortcomings. The Illuminati stuff was pretty dang brutal. I'd be fine with Marvel putting all other movies on hold for a few years and just letting Raimi and Cumberbatch go nuts with these characters. This was one of the most enjoyable movie experiences I've had in a while. I wonder why all the variants are the "same" Strange...It's already been established that variants can be different ages, genders, ethnicities, etc. I'd love to see Lance Henriksen play an ancient variant of Strange.

@@leotheliongames i am struggling, I felt the complete opposite. For being a witch/wizard movie that Raimi directed I expected a whole lot more. There were neat moments but that’s all it was. Wong used shields, swords, and a knife attached to a string, nothing special, nothing interesting. Strange did what looked like a lot of telekinesis, which is odd, and the music fight was cool but to me went on too long of the same thing. The battle wasn’t interesting to me, it was them just throwing notes at each other, it didn’t go beyond that. Wanda had cool moments, like the crawling out of the mirror or taking black bolts mouth, but most of her was shooting red beams or slowly walking after folks she could have just grabbed from a far. My most annoyed moment was the Strange Mordo fight, literally two sorcerer supremes going at it and someone decided to make it so they couldn’t use magic, not to mention the fight choreography of that scene was pretty poor. Sorry I didn’t mean to rant at you lol and I respect your opinion, but I just saw it and these opinions are all built up inside me haha

Not to mention the notes flying through the air was shown to slice through candles, however when they hit bad strange they just make his body jostle a bit. Like I thought the visual of them slicing the candles was to tell me they are like small blades flying through the air, then when it hits bad strange it’s like it’s no big deal. Benedict Cumberbatch makes an amazing Doctor Strange, dominating the screen and nailing the character. That said Elizabeth Olsen is the perfect Scarlet Witch and gives depth to Wanda, grabbing several personas into one, again. Plus in a subtle way she overshines in every scene, creating the perfect balance in the duel in the film. Perfect casting. PS - the film lacked a bit of bridges given by time that seemed to be cut. Otherwise it would make a marking point and not a director vs studio film as it sometimes appears. Great film though 8,5/10

Glad her bringing down the castle at the end redeemed her for you, but I mean, she MURDERED EVERYONE. Xavier? Dead. Black Bolt? Dead. Carter? Phasma? Countless civilians and wizards? All dead! But… I digress… she did destroy a book so that nobody else could do what she just did. This would be like if there were a bunch of people in a pit, one of them climbed out and then kicked the ladder into the pit and filled it with cement, killing all the other captors, and then declaring them a hero because now nobody else can be buried in the pit.
