The teaser trailer for episode 7 is now here and in this video we're gonna be going through it all. This video will contain heavy spoilers for the book and also what we think will happen in the story. Now the trailer picks up where we left things off in episode 6. That had Seasmoke being spotted with a rider and Rhaenyra riding out to meet them. This meeting is where it seems like we're starting off the episode with Dragon facing down against Dragon. I'm guessing that this is happening out at driftmark with it going down at a sandy beach. Addam first spotted Seasmoke at one and episode 6 had the pair coming face to face here.
Rhaenyra asks what he wants and I think that it's gonna be titles and riches.
In episode 6 when he was speaking to Alyn he was saying things about stepping into royalty. Thats sort of the way things go in the book with Addam being given it in a more official capacity. This show down doesn't happen in the work and instead Addam gets invited in.

I think Daemon comes to realize that he was never made for wearing the crown. He IS impulsive, violent, and proud. He would never make a great ruler, but he is a perfect as the enforcer/muscle backing the throne. He accepts this role, and this is something Aemond is never able to accept

Personally I'm intrigued how they will pull it off but I know a lot of book readers are upset because Nettle's is a beloved character by many so to have her completely cut out I'm not sure what that's gonna do to the storyline. I believe in the books she is integral to the story, people are confused about her relationship with Daemon. Whether he is her mentor only, her lover, or she is a bastard child of his as she has dark hair and skin but can ride a dragon. Rhaenyra I've been told wants her dead so I'm curious how they are gonna do the story, I mean I know the maesters are unreliable narrators but I just don't see them being able to pull it off without pissing a lot of fans off. I mean you can't please everyone but GOT especially the last season pissed off the core fan base so many have been hoping this doesn't happen with HOTD. But hey I don't know enough about it maybe George intended it to be Rhaena in disguise for some reason 🤷‍♀

Just one thing going all the way back to how this whole conflict started: Where the hell was the moon tea when Rhaenyra was getting knocked up by Harwin Strong? Everyone just conveniently forgot that was an option? And I like Daemon's Harrenhal arc. I think it lets us into his psyche so we know the character in ways we otherwise never would. He's such a closed book that if we didn't get to see him on weirwood shrooms we we wouldn't know anything about his real motives at all.

We could have covered that with one really well written episode, I think they dragged it out to create conflict with Daemon and the Black Counsel so decisions he makes later in the series won’t seem so out of nowhere. Also it gives the writers a way out of people asking “why didn’t Daemon, Rhenis & Rheynera just roll into kings landing aggressively take down Vhegar snd Sunfyre? And why are they still not doing that now while they out number Vhegar?”

Daemon goes to Harrenhall pretty early on and captures it without bloodshed like in the show. At the same time is when Aemond kills Luke. At the same time the Riverlands kind of goes into civil war but he pretty quickly rounds them all up and takes them under his control for Rhaenrya. Then rooks rest happens and there are other skirmishes around the riverlands and it goes to the whole honeywine and fishfeed stuff and he ultimately dips to help sack kings landing when Cole and Aemond lead a force to Harrenhall. The whole dance is like a 1 year period and 2 if you include the hour of the wolf and its aftermath and what not. We have only gone through like 6.25 and probably end the season with 7-7.5 of the 30 or so major plot points or the dance and its aftermath. Season 1 went through 4 of them in 2 episodes lol which is why people are kind of saying that this season is a bit of a slog. I don't mind the added stuff or some minor changes to suit a different medium but it really seems like they are trying to draw the show out to like 5+ seasons with the aftermath when it should be like 4 tops.

That was one of the few changes I am not a huge fan of. I totally understand that the book is written after everything and can only be taken with a grain of salt. But they have really tried to do so much to make the greens sympathetic. Allicent isn't a power hungry woman just like her father she just got a little confused and realized her woopsie.

Altough I like a lot where House of dragon is going, I feel that the showrunners, writers, etc, are afraid of running out of source material just like GOT, there are a lot of events that happend in the span of days in the book, many battles and betrayals, yet HOTD feels that is slowing down its pace just so they can extend more seasons and episodes, meaning more money, I guess is what we have now. Honestly is a great show I would love to see more interesting plotpoints but we are stuck with many dull moments that dont really add up much in the longrun

As a book reader I’m a little upset that they aren’t going to do nettles. It’s hard to give rhaena the nettles story considering where nettles and daemon’s story ends in the book…..

I think a lot of us expected Rhaenyra this season to come out wanting blood…as the show damn well implied…but instead she is relegated to “helpless female.” Daemon was ready to spill blood, but was vilified and now is weakened with being haunted and bewitched all season in a haunted castle. There have been some intriguing scenes, but overall the season has been a bit of a disappointment.

I disagree, I think it lets us into his psyche so we know the character in ways we otherwise never would. He's such a closed book that if we didn't get to see him on weirwood shrooms we we wouldn't know anything about his real motives at all.

I actually don’t have an issue with Daemon’s lack of action this season. It’s a very slow burn but I think it’s necessary to break him down in order to build him back up. I just find his interactions with Alys fascinating considering the books have them barely interacting at all.

@@FigmentForever Have u even read the book? They don't attack each other-It's not even a fight. Daemon kills Aemond w/ease. He's dead before they hit the water but Daemon isn't. They never found his body either and, GRRM hasn't been shy about Deamon being his fav Character. Aemonds body is found with Daemons sword still stuck in his hollow skull. Daemon survived, bank on it.

JMO: Love the series but feel George RR Martin or the series writer shortchanged Matt Smith's dynamic acting talent with Daemon's character...Wasting too much time with silly vision segments... Series writers in GoT did the similar with Kit Harrington's character Jon Snow and Emilia Clarke, Daenerys Targaryen. Build them up then drop them on their heads disappointing audiences.
