I mean, how could you go wrong with a Contra spinoff that was a brawler? Bill, Lance, Fang, Brownie... I mean, the cast is right there!

i believe flying tiger entertainment had confirmed they were porting this to the switch via their "johnny turbo's arcade" line and i strongly recommend picking it up to anyone when it drops (if it isnt already)

Street Fighter. Imagine being able to unleash a hurricane kick on a crowd of enemies and then lighting them up with a flaming shoryuken. That would hit the spot.

It deafly has to be Mario think of all the different playable characters and different enemy types and the best part is it does not have to take it seriously at all look at the Mario and Luigi RPG‘s I want that but in a beat em up
@Cyberpunknut6 жыл бұрын
This game is indeed a gem. Data east was awesome. I'd kill for a more complete collection of their arcade stuff. That wii release was pretty weak. Stuff that could make a good beat em up? Well MGSV you can pretty much just walk around CQCing everyone if you didn't want to sneak. Obviously castlevania. A lot of the video game belmont men had that brawler look anyhow. For that matter contra would work too. Firebrand from demons crest and gargoyles quest would work well in a beat em up. Mario. You can already punch and grab bower by the tail and swing him around to throw him. Just add more melee moves. Zelda you can have link and a crew of hyrule adventurers do a capcom D&D style quest to the castle. Kirby, you can punch enemies and suck them up to get new moves.

I would say castlevania but the 3d ones were pretty much beat Em ups anyway.... so in that aspect I'm going to say maybe resident evil, but doing that would take the survival horror elements out of the game and fans tend to hate when they do that

This may sound silly but I would love to see a Three Stooges video game get made into an arcade beat em up.

Damn I hope Johnny Turbo releases this for switch since he is doing Data East conversions...

So this is interesting.. in the USA e shop, this IS actually available for the switch.. It is NOT in my home country Australia nor the UK shop..I created a US account and can now buy it.. so there you have it :) Night slashers! Can't wait.

sigh, turbo has put the jump and attack buttons backwards again and doesn't allow them to be edited. So sick of this on his arcade ports. That said, what a FUN beat em up! This one is absolutely addictive!@@DefunctGames

I think a Yakuza spinoff in the style of old beat'em up games would be my jam, complete with a dumb non-canon story and badly translated dialogue
@TravisBolek6 жыл бұрын
This might be obvious but Doom could make a great brawler. It kind of already is one just from a first person perspective.
@Boomer80036 жыл бұрын
Does it have a screen filter to make it less blurry?

I played it via MAME without a filter and the default settings. I didn't do anything to clean up the video.

Alright, _Night Slashers_ - go home you're drunk :P I mean, the Grim Reaper as a (non-final) boss *sounds* cool if you don't think about it, but if you DO, than it's really stupid. A) What's the point of anything when he can just resurrect monsters? Sure it's just for a boss rush here, but in the world of Night Slashers, doesn't that mean any monsters killed will just.... come back again and again? Also B) If you kick his ass, how can you die in any following stages? Data East, y'all were mad men. Though I suppose, after that 2-plane/1-helicopter trip, you must've stopped paying attention _too closely_ to what you were actually doing :P Fortunately the game looks like the right kind of stupid - stupid _awesome._ Just like a bunch of Data East beat'em ups (they did bless the world with _Bad Dudes,_ after all). I'd check it out if it were readily available on anything modern. If I see it, I'll definitely give it a play though! This and.... what's that other cult classic horror brawler? (looks it up on HardcoreGaming101) _Denjin Makai 2: The Guardians!_ That one looks & sounds pretty top-notch as well.

Damn I trusted your channel.. even YOU don't bring up that Johnny Turbo's games (all of them) have backward mapped jump and attack buttons on switch that are non changeable? (unlike hamster's arcade archives or neo geo series). I honestly don't trust anyone any more.. wouldn't have wasted my money on ANY of his games (bought in bulk before playing as knew the arcade games) if just ONE reviewer had mentioned the massive limitations of his (more expensive than hamster) ports. Really annoying. YEAH.. great game, but NOT on switch. NONE of the johnny turbo games play right on switch and even have backwards mapping to the ARCADE let alone other switch games! Try hitting b and a buttons simultaneously for the shield for example in handheld mode.. how often do you get it out of 10 times? His are literally the only games on the entire console, besides odallus and oniken from another dev, that use backwards buttons, which again NO reviewer mentioned. I now believe all reviewers on youtube are just paid shills. Over it. You could have saved me over 50 USD. Pissed off. PS he doesn't offer any rom difficulty settings like the arcade boards, as well as doesn't even give the moves for fighter's history, or any manual for anything. JOHNNY TURBO SUCKS. All he has to do is at minimum update all his games to allow us to map the buttons.. that would be SOMETHING.

I have no experience with the Johnny Turbo version of this game. This is a review of the ending of the arcade game.
