Delay Announcement & AI Adventures

Lets get the bad news out of the way first: we are now estimating Saurian's release will be in Q2 of 2017 (before July). This applies to both pre-release and early access, but we assure you we are still working hard to get these out to you as soon as we can. So this is not entirely a downer, we have something special. We’ve taken some footage of us playing with the AI scene and providing some commentary on the game and its development. Hope you enjoy.

Apart from the glitches, the ai actually looks really good. Like when the dakotaraptor tried to swim towards the other one then decided the water was too deep and swam back to shore. That was a nice detail.

Hotel? Trivago It's released a major dlc and is planning for paid mods, it may call itself early access but a game can only be in early access so long until it just becomes access. Ark is just a laggy, bug ridden excuse for a dinosaur game that wouldn't have a fraction of its success if it had any serious competition.

Yes, it is planned to release on Steam. :) Also the Rex wasn't sick, because Saurian is not going to have diseases (because of the problems it caused in other games), and they said it was because the Rex's teeth damage was still turned on even though it was dead. XD

This is actually favorable for me because at the time it'll be in early acces I'll have acces to a pc which is able to run this game. Also I'm insanely hyped for this game and the only "drawback I can see right now is that you won't be able to play a lot of characters. Meh, it's no big deal. Even for AAA releases, delays are common. Don't worry about it. Definitely needs polish, but what I'm seeing here looks pretty promising. I'm sure a couple more months of spitshine and it'll be great. Models and animations are already top-notch.

Well, even though I'm a little sad that I won't be able to play Saurian as soon as I had thought, more time to develop a game means a better game, and now we have time for more awesome dev logs and hilarious video fun like this one. I love this community and really respect the team for knowing they need more time to make this the game they want it to be instead of pushing out the game before it is ready because of due dates. Take your time, guys! I know how hard it is to estimate milestones in games correctly - you're pretty much always gonna be wrong somewhere. And thanks for this (sometimes unintentionally hilarious) glimpse into the game's AI at this point. It's a nice visual representation of how much this aspect of the game has evolved. Also, your "I love you" to Achero made me laugh, as I'll lovingly look at my parrot several times a day and tell her that. That's just what little dinosaurs we care for do to us; It's a reaction that can't be helped.

Well I can see why you had to delay. There are definitely still a lot of crazy bugs in here, but it looks like it's headed in the right direction. One of my biggest pet peeves in video games like this one is when AI, or the character you are playing as goes through each other or objects, so that's one thing I really hope you guys work out of this game.

I love you guys and your work. I couldn't support you guys on your kickstarter im sorry. But I will always try to support you guys if I can. This game is what I wanted since I was like 4. Good luck and continue your channel when the game is out. Also keep updating the game when it comes out when new scientific discoverys come out. Always keep the game accurate to the real thing. Can you guys please make different maps or DLCs for different areas and times. Like america in the tertiary or antarctica in the jurassic. With the behaviour text off it's hard not to believe they aren't just real animals up and wanderin' around a buggy lowpoly landscape. Particularly the "stop and appraise" behaviour and the sort of "bluff" effect of aggressive animals changing their minds looks so natural! :D

Insects, you need insects. All looking mighty realistic already. Maybe a little bit much deadly combat but you know, ai test and all.

I really don't think insects will have game models, as the team has said before that anything smaller than Chamops (the little lizard) is too small to added because they would have to increase the detail level, and then less people could play because you would need a better computer to run it. However, there will be insect sounds in the audio of the game.
