Gennesse and wyoming is a love hate subject. Without them many of the railroads they have bought would have disappeared. But with them comes a more class 1 style of railroading taking away the things that make short lines special. I don't personally mind their paint scheme to much but there are still plenty of independent shortlines out there still running strong.

Wow this so cool! I've been away from Vidalia for some years. The last time I was there, the GC seemed to be on a down slide and a long portion of the mainline appeared rough. I did enjoy seeing a group of high-nosed GE U-boats in action. So good to see that Georgia Central is prospering! I hope to visit Vidalia after the pandemic winds down. Are those U-Boats still in service and is there any word on possible passenger service on the GC mainline?
@Kayushi3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Hope I can answer your questions. The U23Bs were retired from 2014-2015. Only one survived, the 3965. The rest were scrapped or sent to Mexico with their dispositions unknown. Passenger service will more than likely not occur over this trackage. The track is only rated at class 2 status (25 mph for freight, 30 for passenger) and would need tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars to reach this capacity.

Do you have a fluid head tripod. If so, use it to follow the trains on those occasions, as they pass by you. Think about it. Isn't that what we do when we watch a train pass by when we are not using a camcorder? We don't just stand there and stare in one direction; we follow the train with our eyes. Try it with a good fluid head tripod. Once you get good at it, you will have a nicer variety of shots to mix into your videos.
