I would be tempted to leave the paint unless it started peeling, I don't think it looks that bad. It might not come across well (or bad) on the tubes though. You are giving that bike a new lease of life, can't wait to see you take it out, no rush though, I love it all, the tinkering and fabrication and the rest.

Hi buddy, honestly it's just a few wrinkles in two tiny patches, one on each side of the frame, literally half the size of your palm, not only that as they're curing, they are diminishing all the time... eventually they'll be barely visible marks and I'll just buff them back with some Scotchbrite and flick over a think layer of paint just in that area... far bigger issues on the horizon and really looking forward to getting back on the bodywork !! Thanks for watching mate... appreciated

Thank buddy, that's very kind, just trying to keep it simple and progressive, it still shocks me that the average YT video watch time across the net is still only 6mins, so I try to balance it with a little bit of chat and lots of physical progress, after all, that's what I like to watch... but we're gonna post a little blog/catch up shortly, I've got some pretty cool tools to show you (not a prize draw), and a few thank you's to some special people (not that you're not all special!)... thanks for watching, have a great weekend...

Not quite the outback but I am in a town called Springwood which is about 15kms into the blue mountains. So not to much more civilisation left before you get to the outback hahaah. Once I get my own place I will be getting it for sure.

Hi Del, Bike's looking great. I love that black, I always wanted to paint my Ford pick up( ford F 100 ) in argentina that colour but it was to big, so to expensive ...lol. Sorry I'll disturb you with a question. I found a tiny pin hole in the center or of my bike radiator panel. Would you try with that "Liqui Moly Motorcycle Radiator Leak Stop " ?? The water pump is mounted on a rubber seal , any problem with that ? Thanks, Gus
@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gus.. If the radiator is leaking, and you're losing coolant.. then you have no choice but to repair it, or replace it... so why not give it a go.. as long as you are using what you have said there. .a dedicated motorcycle focused product, check the instructions for any issues with seals.. and if its all compatible.. give it a go, you have nothing to lose aye buddy.. Good luck with it.. Del.

She’s looking really sweet, Del. You looked like you were really enjoying yourself in a big way! Can’t believe how fast you work, too. LOL. At one point you referenced a manual on your bench presumably for torque settings. What book do you have? Hope all is well with you both. (70 degrees here today with some wind and we’re going riding! Yeah, I know it’s just to the dentist, but we’ll take the long way home!)

Hey Gary, good to hear from you brother.. and jealous of your summer weather... 70 is a million miles away for us this time of year.. That was a manual yes, its a "Clymer" manual for the ZX7-R, and i just use it for torque settings.. take care and hope you enjoyed you ride... D&Px

(P) Been looking forward to this video Del... Now HUGE amateur question here... When you put your forks back on the bike, and back into the triple tree. Is there a "technique" to making sure it's all aligned properly and straight again? Want to take the forks of my old VFR to give them a service, but not sure if I'd get stuck putting them back in if I cant get them aligned.
@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Christopher, generally speaking, if the whole front end is being built from scratch, like in this video, then torque up the bottom yoke first, as it's deeper than the top yoke, and should hold the forks dead straight, then after you've torqued down the centre nut, you can do those pinch bolts at the top and it should all be straight... But generally speaking, fork alignment is something that you'll usually do maybe once a year anyway, and I've made two videos on it, the usual method, undo everything except the pinch bolts on the top yoke... and don't forget the centre nut...a nd with evetything lose, do the plunge up and down method which will re-align everything... like I said, I've done two videos on it, but let us know if you get stuck ! All the best, Del

I think I spotted a bit of OCD there Del, early on in the video, you centred the washers to the bolts, ............ not a show bike huh? lol. Good call buddy, gotta be done how you want it after all. And as for Milo, god bless him, the man is a guru for the home painting guy, spray gun or rattle can, I've learnt a lot from watching his, and your videos on painting. Planning to do some myself soon, hate the Dulville's colour lol. RSM8 always
