so some note, not a spoiler considering this was told on why dungeon opened up and orc episodes. the prince/king derghal is the one that group of farmers found a cave, he crawled out and told them to spread the word that those who defeat the mad mage shall have his kingdom before he turned to dust. that was 6 years ago in story and ppl swarmed to the island to find riches/secrets in the dungeon which the castle is in. also yes derghal told his name to the farmers before he fully died.

Boiling food in salt water is a neat trick with certain foods. Adding salt to water makes it denser and slightly increases the boiling point. This makes for better heat transfer i.e. the food will cook faster, and also absorb a little salt from the water. In upstate New York, it's traditional to boil small potatoes in heavily salted water; when they cool on a rack after cooking, a fine layer of salt crystals will appear on the potato skin.

"the vibe" laios referring here is like...they were celebrating here, so it's kinda awkward if he eats right in front of them, not to mention the food was for them. maybe you can imagine it better if they were grieving, it won't feel right to gobble your food in front of them

This is actually an amazingly good adaptation so the quality is comparable to that of the manga. But i still recommend picking up the manga because every volume has these little one-page bonuses about the monsters and stuff that appear in said volume. In those bonus pages they go even more in depth into the monster's biology and ecology, and they're usually really funny ontop of that.

I second that! the manga is more detailed! and i love how Ryoko Kui (the author) explain the world , the races, character's background story in more detailed way in two other books > Dungeon Meshi : Adventure Bible Complete Edition and Daydream Hour Complete Edition.

Bump of Chicken is the band, they've done a few anime OPs including SpyXFamily (Souvenir), they also had a song (Acacia) for a Pokémon animation for one of their anniversaries and partook in a series of ads for a One Piece/Hungry Days Noodles crossover. I mean, Laios wanted to eat living armour and that worked so why not paintings, problem is he's focused on the food and not the lore
