Hi Yes, Great system. I have been looking at them for some time. I have a T3400. Not like the power you have. But was googling for info on my and ran across the T7500. I truly believe it may be my next system. I have a small budget. I generally pick up computers from a thrift store and slowly upgrading the Ram and CPU and then the video card. You don't have to have the news computer to get online. Thanks for the video.

T7500 dual x5680, 48GB DDR3 Reg Ecc, Dell GTX 1060 6GB, SATA III pcie x2 controller, 240GB SanDisk SSD, 750GB Seagate barracuda. I used to have it decked out with raid arrays, 1300w PSU, Raid Controller, etc. I used those parts for other machines though. I gave the Rocket Raid 640 to friend for his server he was building and another I gave to a friend who needed more expansion on his motherboard. The 1070 Went to my newer ryzen machine, and so did the drives.

I added in a SATA III Pcie x2 card and it gets 535MB / Sec from the SSD now instead of 280MB / Sec. It's a good investment for these. Just make sure that it's a bootable pcie x2 or pcie x4 and not a x1 because those don't really improve the speed that much. My friend had a x1 and it went up to about 480MB / Sec which is still an improvement though. I had a HighPoint Rocket Raid 640 pci x4 and they don't support TRIM for SSD although they are nice for SATA drives.

All Hail the "Cheap Gaming PC". I have been a handheld and console player way back. and I never thought about PC gaming, until a good friend and I traded items and I now own and have been researching what I can possible do with this system. I have been checking RAM, Video cards and accessories, and think I will throw some money at this 66lb Beast of a silent pc. Sadly its only running with 4 gigs of Ram, but Thank you Ebay for more options. If anyone has any suggestions on other places for 96 gigs of Ram under $150 and a Quad output display Video card with either HDMI or Dell Display Port please let me know. I am currently running Dual 32" LED screens and would like to do a Quad 32" (Insignia's were dirt cheap, second one was 59.00 Thanks eBay). Keyboard is Logi Wireless and mouse is vertical. Just glad to know I got a rock solid PC.

I got the same machine with not too far off same spec'ed. But there a few things: -You CAN control the fan speed in speed fan with the special 'Dell notebook support' checked. -90 Degrees (if C) is quite hot indeed, did you use something like artic silver 5? Because my machine doesen't get any hotter than 50-55 C under full load. (With a power hungry Radeon HD 7950). -Cable management is doable if you for example used the plastic holders underneath the HDD caddy's Cheers!
@blade43634 жыл бұрын
Sander Van marle Yes I am aware you can control the fans with speed fan but the extra fans I have added have to be on a controller as there are no additional fan headers and I do not want to use splitters just in case it overloads the fan header

Sounds like that secondary CPU may be damaged... I dunno about your first CPU but my lone x5690 is comically cool-running with a stock heatsink as long as you do a couple fans even on only 5 volt. Cool setup though!

Nice video mate. Gonna sub! I've recently picked up two of these. Got X5690s but the bugger won't boot up. I guess Motherboard issues. Got an SSD for it but I've heard they won't go over 3GBps, do you reckon I get the raid controller you're using ? Any tips ? I don't game much but the last thing I'd want is to fry the X5690s. Do you recommend I get a fan cooler too ?
@blade43634 жыл бұрын
Festus D I also had one of these with a failed motherboard with the same problem there are two different Versions of the motherboard the more up-to-date one both chipset coolers are fan cooled The raid controller is Dell H 700 If you’re going to run the X5690s I highly recommend a push Pull configuration on the heatsink for the daughterboard And a cooler Master hyper 212 on the motherboard and CPU However to get this fit some modifications have to be done you may have to bend the heatsink slightly for the voltage regulators otherwise the heat pipe will interfere Also forgot to mention you will need an aftermarket fan controller otherwise you will get a CPU fan error it is a bit of a pain to get these working right and cool temperatures but it is worth it Please use my video as a reference for your build any questions feel free to ask I will do my best to help
@festusd33684 жыл бұрын
@@blade4363 thanks. Appreciate it. Both units came with an ordinary heatsink. No cooler so I thought that would be enough for the x5690s. I'll probably look into getting a cooler master in the near future. Do you have a full video of your T7500 build? I could use it if you have one. Let me see if I can mirror your setup. Hello, Im hoping maybe with a Dell T7500 can help me with an issue Im having. I have no idea why but the fans go full force on and off sounds like a jet engine starting over and over and over. This is happens when the computer is just idling no load. I have T7500 dual x5680's with 96gb ram, Nvidia Quadro FX 5800, SSD for OS and 6tb plus 4tb plus two 2 tb hard drives. The xeon processors have the larger heat sinks that dell offers. Can anyone give me an explanation before I toss this off the balcony lol
@blade43634 жыл бұрын
Chad Weisser Do you the larger heatsinks you have heat pipes and are they interfering with the VRM heatsink if you have that version of the motherboard Also are you using aftermarket fans because if you are It will not be reporting the rpm correctly to the motherboard you must understand it is designed to run with Dell fans Which may explain why the fans are ramping up and down because the BMC is trying to compensate for the incorrect fan reading
@chadweisser16364 жыл бұрын
Yes I have the taller heat sinks. All the fans are OEM only.

Chad Weisser Are you running the latest BIOS Also you could try using speed fan but you will have to look at a guide online on how to set it up to control the fans because on its default settings it will do absolutely nothing to control the fans but if it’s running an early bios that could be the problem Without a bit more information about the actual problem it is quite hard to diagnose But one thing I have found having worked with Dell servers it could be a faulty fan not reporting the rpm signal correctly to the main board
