I’ve experienced a dead zone (no signal) while texting with someone many times. During that period I was not able to receive any texts from the person I was texting with. I was able to send texts but they wouldn’t deliver. Once I passed through the dead zone, I immediately received all the texts that were sent to me while I was riding as a passenger through the dead zone. Additionally, my texts were delivered as well. The time stamped was the time that I received the messages - not the time that they were actually sent to me. I don’t understand how that phone data expert was not able to explain how it was possible to receive all those texts at once. The fact that many messages were received at once should’ve been a tell tale sign to him that at some point they had lost the signal which later came back (4:30 am)

Say she started recording the video at 2:13, it filmed for 43 seconds and finished at 2:14. Bridge guy has approached by that point so she tried to hide her phone. The screen goes black and she was probably holding it with her palm and the phone detected is an unlock attempt.

I just spoke to my techie husband about the cell phone issue. He reminded me that after a drop on my phone, the solder connecting the receiver was damaged, and only by pressing on my phone in a certain location could I receive messages and calls. If Libby's phone was damaged, say as they slid down the hill or if the phone fell out of Libby's pocket and hit a rock while the assailant re-dressed Abby, then maybe that solder connection was loosened and just natural settling from Abby or the phone itself, reconnected the receiver and all the messages/calls downloaded before the phone shutdown. Since the first thing CSI does is put the phone into airplane mode, they may have missed the damaged connection.

Anyone else found Sarah’s testimony so bizarre! First of all, why did she drive around and around the area multiple times? Secondly, how come she had a good look of the man for 30 secs? Was she driving with a 1 mile per hour speed? There is no way it took her 30 secs. And thirdly, I highly doubt the transcribers got her testimony wrong 3 times. She obviously omitted “bloody”

Sarah is not a believable witness. If I were on the jury, I would discount her testimony completely. She's not even intelligent enough to realize the defense attorney's cross gives her a more valid reason for not contacting the police right after the murders... She mentioned only mud in the first few interviews, that would be a valid excuse for not contacting the police the next day. She thought it was just a man with mud, nothing of interest to report until asked if she noticed anything. Fine. Then she could have said her statement changed later to reflect that he COULD have also had blood on him as well. To insist she said he was covered in blood, so much that it looked like a pig was slaughtered, from the very beginning and yet did not immediately report him as soon as the murders were publicized... no, just no. Not to mention her testimony that an hour of her interview was missing undermines the prosecution, for which she's a witness. Her bid for attention is shameful and embarrassing.

At 18:30, Lauren said Sarah is “certain” the guy was wearing a hat (after all the effort she has researching hats), and right away when the prosecutor asked if she could have mistaken it for hair and she automatically said yes it could. From certain hat to yeah could be hair, but totally biased against any logic the defense showed her, she still would be objective enough to say that yeah it looks I am not clear.
@ecaryn.2 ай бұрын
That's incredibly naive and ridiculous to think that jurors are not forming opinions about witness credibility as trials progress. Sure, the discussion is open during deliberations but other's thoughts on witness' credibility shouldn't sway your opinion on the same. So yes, it is logical, and necessary, to discount someone's testimony whom you don't find to be truthful. And if you can be so easily swayed on your opinion of someone's truthfulness, then, please, YOU never serve on a jury.

They could be beady normally,but there is a thing where people can mistake eye color based on how big the pupils are at the time. The first witness sounds like her memories have changed with the amount of information released during the investigation. People who have never given evidence in a trial, esp one that's about your trauma, need to lay off witnesses and how they're coming across. Having prosecution or defence insinuate or come straight out and say you're lying is so awful and demoralizing. It's something that haunts you long after you leave the stand. I had my abuser's defence say it was my fault as an 11 yr old girl that HE went on to abuse other children, because although I told adults what he was doing 3 times, I should have kept telling until the adults stopped threatening me about 'what happens to naughty children who tell lies' and actually listened. Sarah is just a caring member of her community who chose to come forward to help these children, and then she spent the morning being called a liar. (Prosecution also does this to witnesses in cases too). You're going to get angry, sarcastic, defensive, and frustrated when they do this, and they hope you do to make you 'look bad' on the stand. She could have not come forward and saved herself the hassle... be grateful she spoke up!
@chilo81872 ай бұрын
It’s a defense attorney’s job to grill witnesses especially when they make such serious claims. Is it nice? No. Should they victim blame? No. But their job is to defend their client, not to coddle witnesses, unfortunately, and some are a bit more aggressive than others 😅. I’m sorry that happened to you it sounds awful.
@starflower7032 ай бұрын
I am so sorry you had to go through that. It’s the reason I never took my abuser to court. I knew it would get blamed on me and I heard enough of that for a lifetime when I first found the courage to tell. It’s horrific as an innocent child to be groomed and targeted. Then to be told it’s your fault, people who have never experienced that simply will never understand how much it affects you and how hard it is to deal with it.

Did the Dr. come up with this theory before or after that information was leaked? Please remember everyone…it’s been 7 years. I’m just having such a problem with information stated at the start or taken in notes when the crime happened, to now slight (some big) changes are happening….7 years later. Agree, I hate how bad evidence is, I can’t believe that couldn’t find any stronger evidence in a town so small, they should have recognized the local guy that walks around in a weird pose. There has to be a lot of pressure for all witnesses to try to help the evidence fit better for conviction to try to fix the gaps in the investigation. The boxcutter new info worries me too much, it is not ok it was a lightbulb moment for this doctor 7 years later, after depositions with defense and not saying anything to them ASAP and I think it is super relevant, as you mentioned, if there might be reference of a boxcutter in a “confession”. It is a huge temptation for the witnesses to try to help strengthen evidence by now adding this weapon option out of the blue so the State can then link it to the details only the killer would know. I can’t believe the Defense is finding out in the middle of trial after the doctor had already told the prosecutors, I think in other more transparent trials there might have been a motion to dismiss or at least investigate.
