Nice video, good to see a new upload of yours. I wonder how long that issue has been there potentially, the meter in the cupboard appears to have been there a long while judging by what appears to be a "Y2K" compliant sticker. You might have been the first electrician to look at the wiring of the house in sometime.

Nice work. On the subject of builders and electrics. The wife has decided she wants a new worktops in the kitchen. So I was doing a rekky on the kitchen, I can’t even get the induction hob out as I don’t know where the supply cable terminates. It drops through a hole in the bottom of a cupboard and goes behind the units, I can’t even see the cable when I remove the kick boards. So now it’s looking like a full on unit strip out to find the cable. . This house was built in 2016 !! Surely they would have had the cable terminate in an accessible place underneath the hob , like behind the pan draw 🤷🏻

This type of job is what I call Kenny the Kitchen fitter or Willie the DIY Job. In Scotland they are trying to license electricians where they should be clamping down on kitchen and bathroom fitters who fancy themselves as sparks. I had to condemn a £40,000 kitchen and bathroom refurb customer said how did you know an electrician was not involved before you even looked at the job. Easy I replied I spotted the old fuseboard above the front door , an electrician is obliged to fit a new safety consumer unit. One other point is the kitchen and bathroom fitters are not insured for electrical work so are personally responsible for any problems
