Deltarune a "handful of theories" Who or what is Ralsei? And Many More

hello everyone today I will be decussing a "handful of theories" I've had for a while now. I've decided to but 3 or 4 theory's into one 17 minute video.

I really like the direction you’re going in with Ralsei being a drawing! But if it was a flower drawing… why wouldnt Ralsei be a flower? If the drawing theory is correct i’d suspect its more like Asriel drew himself as a prince/mage and thats what caused Ralsei to take on such a different appearance

yeah the flower part was mostly biased on my previous theory on Ralsei but I think that flowers are usually associated with happy thoughts like love and stuff like that, but now that I'm saying this they can also be associated with grieving and death too. (though I guess it depends on the type of flower). and why there not a flower I'm not completely sure, my guess would be that the fact that Asriel made it is more important than the thing on the drawing Though that's just my hypothesis. and I believe that it is said that Kris and Asriel used to make games together (unless I'm miss remembering). So maybe they also like did drawings of each other in fantasy like designs. and I kind of like the idea of like not only Asriel and Kris but maybe even like Noelle and Dess playing like DnD together in these like fantasy type worlds. 99% sure its not cannon but I think its a cool thought.

Well, asriel had a How to draw dragons book or smth in a drawer, that's in the upper floor of toriel home. So some interest in fantasy is there.

The deltarune is undertale backwards theory works if you consider timeloop theory and if the roaring happens either at the end of chapter 6 or in the start of chapter 7

My theory is that Ralsei is the sole survivor of the previous Roaring, and that Castle Town is the old version of the Light Room. It explains why the cutscene where Ralsei warns of the Roaring is in sepia, like all the flashbacks in Undertale, because it has already happened. And if he’s the only one who survived it, that explains why he is uncharacteristically serious. It also explains the area around Castle Town, because that location had eyes drawn into the cliff walls as a warning of the Titans, who have similar eyes. Or, it could be like the Boiling Isles from The Owl House, where it’s built on the corpses of Titans, or the corpse of one Titan, with holes in the cliffs oozing ichor. Also, the dust piles could be the remains of the victims of the Roaring. And him being alone for so long is why he’s so friendly with everyone, but lacks empathy. Because he hasn’t interacted with any living thing for so long, he doesn’t understand them, but he wants to have friends again. Also, it may explain why Ralsei is immune to the Roaring, because it turned him into something somewhere between Lightener and Darkener. As the Titans sealed inside the Castle Town Dark Fountain have already been killed or resealed, that’s why it’s pure, letting it support any Darkener, and allow Ralsei to enter any Dark World without fear of petrification.

I wanted to believe this at first, but after listening to other theories bit by bit, I see that there are some flaws to some of the claims made based on what the game has provided. I do think Ralsei is special, but I'm not sold on him being a survivor of the roaring. I think that knowledge was told to him with dire importance. Something that can't happen, so long as it can be helped. The reason why is because if he IS a darkner...no darkner is believed to survive the roaring when it happens, they would be turned to stone, no exceptions, otherwise I think Ralsei would mention that he did survive once as he was a warning berdly. Instead, it comes off more so fearing for his own existence and the fate of his Lightner companions. The dust in the outskirts of castletown is tricky. I don't know if it belongs to the lightners because in this game the lightners are now monsters and they dont have magic, meaning their bodies are no longer magic either, its speculation but they should no longer turn to dust anymore. . belongs to darknera or lightners. I won't say the Roaring never happened, something had to happen for ralsei to be warned about it. but I do feel that Ralsei only came into existence after the world was reset. Since that would likely be the angels goal if someone was successful at punching too many holes into the barrier of the darkwolrd(check out the submarine theory for that) Ralsei n castle town feels like a safe haven a precautionary measure for if the roaring happens again which it will surely😅. Just hope that the presence of our (soul) is enough to garner an ideal outcome

Yeah I thought someone would say it in the comments lol. I meant it more as a metaphorical soul and not as a literal soul. but Flowey does have Asriel "consciousness" or whatever His "soul" if you get what I mean.

i personally think that ralsei is kris’s horn headband and their name is so similar to asriel because he’s what kris wishes they were like. also, queen in the weird route has a darker yet darker quote (i think). “my” theory and comment aside, ur theories are pretty interesting to think about, keep up the great work!

glad you liked my video! and yeah queen does quote something similar saying that Noelle should fall into a "darker Darker dream" which isn't an exact quote, but very similar to the other "references" to the quote. still "very very interesting" though.

No, this doesn't really work. It's been shown and implied Kris doesn't like Ralsei, and likes him the least out of all of the party members with the character flavored tea.

That would actually make a lot of sense, and even explain Ralsei's personality. Kris could have done their monstersona when they were young and naive and gave their oc a personality of all love.

These are all very interesting theories! Especially the Kris being the entity one! Never would have thought that maybe Kris is traumatized after Spamton Neo seeing the actual effects of his actions... unless he is possessed as some theories say... A thing i do want to note about the Ralsei being reverse Flowey: At the end of Undertale's true pacifist ending, Flowey becomes Asriel again, turning from hate and evil to kindness and love. If Ralsei is the opposite of Flowey, that means that Ralsei may become a being of pure evil incapable of love at the end of Deltarune... maybe something happens that makes Ralsei snap, or Susie finally turned him a little like her, or hell, even Ralsei is actually evil all along like some theories say. Can't wait to see your next theories!

yeah I know about the theory's/ speculation that Ralsei may be evil but I didn't even think of that! that's really interesting and would defiantly be kind of scary because I think this could be 100% right. obviously we will have to wait till the whole game comes out. maybe one boss could kinda represent all the "major" mini bosses (napstablook, dummy/mad mew mew and muffet). they have their own themes and all, with them all kinda being simular. thats my best guess for the reverse undertale theory anyway.

Yeah that's an interesting idea multiple mini bosses combined to make one "main boss" and going with that idea, it could also be one with all the dogs in Snowdin instead of the "ghosts". very interesting Theory.

@@theorycrafter300 it could be, though the only really interesting one is greater dog. then again it would likely be easier to make a boss out of the dogs, with them being one species (instead of a ghost, a spider and a dummy who changes into a catgirl) and living in the same area (instead of in the ruins, waterfall, snowdin and hotland. it might clash with papyrus being in snowdin, bt we already have an shortage of areas. but maybe the final chapter takes from either every part of undertale, or is the true lab (though if true, likely the 4th chapter) and spamtons basement isn't represented by the true lab.

Yeah totally, depending on the route Noelle is already corrupted at least partly and Berdly might be already dead so maybe not him but most defiantly Susie and Ralsei at least I think it could be possible!

i know that supposedly Gasters theme is in a lot of not only Deltarunes but Undertales music. I don't really know much if anything about music theory/ composing music. but I do know that Andrew Cunningham made a video on Undertales music called "Everything About Gaster's Motif in the DELTARUNE Soundtrack - A Musical Mythbusting Odysseyaa" which you should defiantly check out if you haven't already.

You made me think it, and i actually thought you might've been about to twist it to that yourself when you brought up Kris fitting the MO But That actually makes sense that the Entity might target Kris. - (If "the entity" is a single separate 'entity' and not the knight) That the Entity. Did. Target Kris. That Whom we refer to, even if incorrectly, as Gaster, targeted Kris. Already. The Evidence is there.... and its evidence suggesting Gaster... two similar not direct lines is a coincidence, but thrice, is a pattern. WE Are there. WE are the evidence. WE are the corruption in Kris' case. - Tied in by Gaster (assumed) - The character creator dialogue We are the ones who see DR / Survey Program as a game - Like Jevil We are the ones who act in DR, as if we've seen Undertale. We act like we know Sans, though Sans acts as though he's never personally met Kris, Knows of Kris in some way, maybe, but, actual interaction seems like not. Same with Undyne and Alphys, We act like Undyne should get to know Alphys, and Undyne doesn't even immediately know who that is. - We, act like we know more than exists in the confines of "Deltarune" - - This brings the slight connection that is similar to Spamton,.. Heaven. Cause in Undertale we're believed related to the angel that would come back, and the underground would go empty We've got the trappings that make us arguably like Jevil and Spamton I mean. We even "Spoke with someone" before becoming "corrupted" - We literally start Deltarune / Survery_Program off, by talking to "someone" [ARE YOU THERE] [ARE WE CONNECTED?] [EXCELLENT] - and after this "we see it as a game" character creator with the "IMAGE_DEPTH" backdrop, Kris becomes corrupted... with Us. They start acting Unlike themselves, Or maybe at times just like themselves, by what would feel like sheer coincidence... Just like how Jevil and Spamton started to act differently,... Hell ARGUABLY...... we even have the same thing as Spamton's Phone... a Phone where on the other side is nothing but garbage noise... as long as we're in the dark world(s) at least.

This is a really interesting thought that also came to my mind during this video! It is super interesting to think about Kris already having been targeted by this Entity and we're seeing kind of the process that this 'corruption' comprises. It made me think about that damned birdcage again. It's been bothering me constantly in my theory crafting and it's the bane of my existence. Why is it there? Did it really belong to a former pet? Why is the ground nearby stained? It says it's seen quite a few crashes and I don't think that would be the case if it housed a little bird inside. Without even mentioning that the soul gets violently thrown inside it, which makes me think it implies that the ending of Chapter 1 isn't the first time Kris has done this. But why would they do this before Chapter 1? Were they truly ripping out their soul repeatedly in the past as well? Why would they need to if we weren't there at the time? This never made sense to me. But if somehow Kris knows about all this Survey Program (not completely, I mean just at least a little bit) and how it kind of works then they could have planned something to work around it (like trapping the soul in a cage). Is this not the first time something like this has happened? Has Kris been targeted for this project more than once? It's too early to tell if this is even what's going on at this point but it's super interesting to think about.

Rriiigghht... The Bird cage.... hmmm.... Well.. It was pointed out to me / I saw it presented, in the past probably within the last year or so... That Pre-completion Save manager acts like Gaster / the character creator narrator / twitter narrator when acting upon the save slots. That when copying a save into each slot, PREPARTIONS ARE COMPLETE and when copying over a save you already copied over with the same data "WHAT AN INTERESTING BEHAVIOR" and That the slots each had micro differences in them, primarily when interacting with things in the bedroom, that there would be different contents depending on which slot. (not that I know if this affects the bird cage dialogue at all) Then I learned more recently that there is actually some "Permanence" that carries across saves, too. If you have a save that you did beat Jevil in, and made a clean slate save in another slot Seam would act like he remembers you fighting that clown, or that salesman "perhaps you just don't remember that you did, yet." So.... so... ... Could mean that its happened before...? And we "for whatever reason" don't remember it....? Or... Alternatively.... Toby Fox called out the VS Susie / Lancer fight famously "not a bug"... Where Our POV was on Susie... and the Soul, only came out for dodging, from the direction Kris and Ralsei were in, and then went back, All while Our POV remained on Susie's Fight. "This is not a bug" So. The Soul could've arrived before Our POV did. - Making it possible that the Bird cage was used before We arrived to see it..... Which... Ultimately... translates... to "happened before, we just don't remember it, for whatever reason"... hmmm Interesting... Two different ways to reasonable explain a factor that... are sound.... rooted.. in evidence we see in other cases....and essentially reach the same general conclusion... I dunno.. I don't think as much about the bird cage ... actually.... There is code for a Chapter 0.... Our POV hasn't seen Chapter zero yet even though we see 1 and 2... and it doesn't seem to be character creator.. at least none of the information I've seen has made that connection and shown it off yet... Implying there 's a period before Chapter 1 we MIGHT eventually see where the Soul might've been added by...? Kinda... Kinda feels like that ties back to the previous two... "Happened before, we just don't remember it" and "Soul Present, But not our POV" "This is not a bug"... Making for arguably a third "you just don't remember it" moment.... In fact... Kris' save that we overwrite... Isn't that arguably like the new ch2 "clean-save" where we have a save slot, with a different name, that Seam remembers things from...? or something like that...? ugh. brain doesn't loop in those ways... probably do need more information that just isn't there yet.... Maybe Ch 0 is the information. Mean it implies it'd be a chapter before Chapter 1... and its alluded to in the code... Maybe something will flashback to that, maybe there will be something that occurs that will force us to start from chapter 0 and go through events essentially like a flashback only that you essentially "new-game+" at that point and have to go through the whole game again, but with the additional ch0 info
