Most people don’t realize when you put an adhesive/glue on the paint and you’re dealing with the adhesion of the paint to the metal. Most don’t realize how much strength and adhesion the proper paint job has.

Could you of ordered a fender and detrim the door and just paint and get job done and move the car out faster and less risk of potentially breaking paint and resulting in blending door and hood as a usual repair. ? I hope tou were well compensated as you deserve it. 💪

I am at the 7:10 mark. Before seeing what you do, I am going to say how I would do this. Then I can see what you did. The fender is caved in, and its also short due to the ends being sucked in. The rule I follow is to fix the largest body lines first. Replacing my old way of welding pull plates with your way of gluing wood blocks, the first order of business would be to stretch the fender for length. However, in this case thats not going to be enough. You need to have pressure on the wheel house at the same time. So for me, I would glue wood blocks, on either side of the dent, and put the lengthening pressure on with my friction jack. Then I would use my big red wheel opening tool with the pulling post to give me the pressure I need to bring the wheel opening back in place. Honestly, this may be a good candidate for a triple pull. Glue a bunch of tabs to the line, put a rod through them and apply pressure with a comealong, or a ratcheting tiedown strap(one of my secret weapons) while everything else is under pressure. NOTE* The old way would be to use a washer welder, and weld a bunch of hardware store washers along the line and put the rod through that. While all this is going on, I would be using my slapping spoon to stress relive and work the crown. Once it went down some, I'd transfer to my big Snap-on dinging hammer, and then down to a regular Snap-On planishing hammer. Last, I have a nylon "Jewelers" hammer for the fine work. As far as finishing goes, i would use a mix of smaller glue tabs (God, I love these things!), and the PDR rods to work it as close as I could. This is where I fall apart though. I just cant do little things in the paint, no way I could do this. So I would have to finish it using old school "Pick and File" metal finishing methods, and then repaint the fender. I am sure you are going to PDR the fender (I would if I had the skill) Ok, lets see how you did it :) [Presses "PLAY"] [EDIT] Ok, that was a great job! I like the multiple pulls, and we both used the big red wheel opening tool! The use of the Pogo sick with your student was fast and easy! I like that you know to pull a panel for length. Outside of my teacher and myself, I have never actually seen anyone else that knows do that. I learned in the 1980's too. You have no idea how good it feels to find someone else who really knows this stuff! Its like finding a long lost brother! Another FANTASTIC Job!

Bought the gorilla glue and it was holding but I wasn’t prepping it properly.
