There's a Chinese restaurant that I go to, and every cook is Mexican. You can hear them all in the back when you go there. Sometimes they even have a radio. HILARIOUS!!!! Similar story: There's a Japanese Teriyaki restaurant close by my crib. With the exception of the owners(A Korean couple) all the cooks are Mexicano, accents and all. Here's the twist, since I know the owners, I curate their music playlists,...I put nothing but Afro-Cuban/Afro-PuertoRican/Afro-Brazilian music on the playlist. So now, you walk in Japanese restaurant, owned by Koreans, Mexican cooks in the back, blastin nothin but Black music of Latin America. Pretty dope when you think about it.

Speaking of Indian food, I had a German great grandfather who was a ship cook during WW2. His ship was captured by the British, and he was sent to an Indian prisoner camp where he learned an amazing chicken curry recipe. He actually helped an Austrian mountain climber escape by giving him food for the journey, and the man who escaped, (Heinrich Harrer) went on to tutor the Dalai Lama. So what I’m saying is the movie “Seven Years in Tibet” starring Brad Pitt as Heinrich Harrer, wouldn’t be able to exist if it wasn’t for my great-grandfather helping a friend escape a British prison camp.
