D&H, 5 yrs ago my husband and I were in an interstate car wreck. My husband was fine. I had a severe TBI. I’m still healing and watching this episode was us minus your youth and beautiful talent, but in a previous episode I remember Haley said she wanted to be an old couple dancing together. That’s what we’re doing because we’re 30+ years older than you. My husband has been my rock, listening to Haley’s determination reminds me of mine. I promised him I would come back and then he was diagnosed with leukemia and I knew I had to save him the way he saved me and my head would have to keep up. We are each other’s support come happiness, hell or high water and the reason we’re both here today. We adore each other more now than at our start 20 yrs ago. Hold each other close and cherish each other. The gift that we are to each other is the greatest gift of our life. May it be yours. With much love, light and continued healing to you. Thank you both for sharing your traumatic story. I can understand how it feels to have a brain bleed and to have seizures. I'v had epilepsy, since I was 5 years old. (It all started with a normal cold, and then I started convulsing. And then I was diagnosed, epileptic.)

Back in 2010, I was having a hernia repair, something went wrong and i ended up having a stroke. I was in ICU for 2 weeks. I was released to a rehab center and on Christmas night, a blood clot went to my brain and i spent another 2 weeks in ICU. I know how she felt. When the surgeons shave your hair off and you wake up numb... tubes and wires are all coming out of your body. Brain surgeries are different it can leave you feeling different. I ended up being in 2 different hospitals and 2 rehab centers. I was in nursing homes from November 30th 2010 til March 17th 2011. Im so happy that Dereks wife is doing great!

It’s extraordinary that she made it because usually when people have this happen, they do not make it. My sister-in-law had the same exact thing four years ago at the age of 43 years old. She did not make it through the surgery and she died alone in the hospital because it was Covid and nobody could be with her.

Awwwww I’m so sorry but at the same time the good Lord put his healing hands on your Beautiful wife. I became a widow at 49, I’m still devastated at 83, I’m now in senior living, I truly believe you get one soulmate in your life, I’m empty inside but THANKFUL you Both get to go on with your glorious marriage I had 28 Glorious years. God Bless her!! Most people do not survive a brain bleed or aneurysm. Our mother did not survive one. We lost the most beautiful, loving, so kind to all of our friends. Our mom get up and make a meal for anyone who came into her home, and fed more than just food, but love. Looking back now I’m filled with happiness that she no longer suffering.
