I get Botox every 4 months and it makes me look less tired/stressed. My dermatologist does it and it always comes out great. I’m 58 and started at 56. Never had any issues with it at all.

Awesome video, Sam! ❤ I'm 38 and just over a year ago, started getting Daxxify and Botox for a lip flip, eyebrow lift (for my lovely hooded eyes) and to treat crows feet and the glabella. I'm that person that said I should have started doing it 10 years ago (at least for the lip flip!) It was one of those things where I looked in the mirror one day and decided I was tired of looking, well, tired and stern lol - I have a very expressive face. It's one of the best things I've ever done for myself!

I've never had Botox. I'm turning 57 next month, and it's taken until now for the tiniest lines to appear between my eyebrows. I have zero lines (etched) around my eyes. What I DO have is sagging jowls and prominent naso-labial folds. I appreciate you explaining Botox (and its "family") in detail because I'm a little scared to start, but want to begin with less invasive procedures until I'm fully prepared to go for a face lift.

I'm 28 and had my very first baby botox session last week! I did between the brows, a tiny bit in the forehead, and a low dose in the masseter muscles for slimming and to reduce teeth grinding. It was a great experience and I'm so glad I went through with it. And for baby botox, it's quite affordable!

Is there anyone who is NOT a candidate for Botox for health reasons/if they have preexisting conditions? People who should not get it? Great video!

I started getting Botox about 6-7 years ago for my "eleven." Wish I had started sooner and glad I am doing it now. I actually go to a nurse practitioner for my injections. What are your thoughts going to a nurse vs a dermatologist/cosmetic physician? I have not had a problem (she used to work in a very prominent cosmetic surgeon here in Houston). I have one deep line at the very top of my forehead, which is covered by a few wispy bangs. I have asked about getting Botox in this area to smooth it out, but she said it would most likely cause drooping of my eyelids. I really appreciated this advice and honesty because she could have just injected it. It really does pay to go to a professional who has had training and is knowledgeable. Thanks for this very informative video!

Thank you for the video, Dr. Ellis, it was very educational! I started getting botox a couple of years ago for my migraines. And I must say, I enjoy the aesthetic outcome as well. It was so interesting to learn that my brows were asymmetrical, and I'd gotten so used to them that I didn't even notice anymore. It was really interesting to learn about how injectors may differ in terms of aftercare instructions. I am to stay vertical for 6 hours, avoid working out (I'm a runner) for 4-5 days (!!!), and skip massages or facials for 2 weeks. At my 2 weeks control I usually get a few extra units (my doctor charges for area, so I don't pay for the extra).

@@Xyllia Hi there! I had extreme dizziness. Constantly lightheaded. I lost all feeling in my body. I had a hard time swallowing. My entire body had pins and needles, my ears constantly ring. I could not drive for over three months. Every time I showered and had period, I thought I was going to pass out. I couldn’t sneeze, swallow, blinking was difficult. It has been 19 months and I’m getting better. Except my ears still ring and I still feel slightly lightheaded once in awhile. It was Dysport that ruined my life. It sucks! ☹️

I was looking through comments to see if anyone had info on botox for migraines and if that actually has cosmetic benefits as well - presumably, it'd be dependent on where the injections happen. Would you mind sharing your experience with your injections on the masseter and corrugator muscles?

Yes I’ve had Botox. I’m taking a break from it right now, because every time I get Botox I get puffy under my eyes. This usually goes away after the Botox starts wearing off. Have you seen this in your clinic? I’m curious is this a allergic reaction?
@Rose-lz2et

could be an allergic reaction or it could be high dose of botox, it's also possible to have excess skin making your eyes droop after botox depending on where it's getting injected

Dr Sam, please please help me, I have been researching this for weeks... Can I layer Copper peptide serum (1%) with Matrixyl 3000 serum (8%) without the potential of them itneracting in some way and reducing their efficacy? ( I started worry about this after I read on Timeless skincare website that the don't recomment layering their MAtrixyl 3000 serum with their MAtrixyl Synthe 6 serum due to potential interaction between peptide signaling activities (headbang). I want to layer copper with MAtrixyl because they work in different ways. I don't want to alternate days because all research is done on ingredients used daily, so maybe they are not effective used every other day? Please please help, this drives me to agony:D
