Dr. Dray is THE BEST. I hate “skinfluencers” - they have a subjective opinion whereas dr. Dray discusses what these products will do for whoever tries them, so why would we listen to them 😆 All I know is that my skin has improved SO MUCH in the last year thanks to Dr. Dray and Dr. Dray alone. Actual Derms IRL were less helpful.

Prescription tretinoin 0.025mg at night. The first month every other night. After this has absorbed, apply a night cream with ceramdes and peptides. Every morning, apply acure brightening vitamin c and ferulic acid serum. Let that absorb. Then, apply a day cream that works for you that has peptides and ceramides. I prefer a salicylic acid cleanser so that I have something to exfoliate my skin. Also, before people start yelling at me.Don't forget your sunscreen.

As an oily skin girl , I loved the beta glucan moisturizer and it sits beautifully under make up due to that slightly tacky film. I only use it during the day and use a heavier moisturizer at night. My skin almost never feels dry but does get extra oily when it is dry, so when I apply this, it sinks in and feels like nothing but my skin doesn’t get oily when I wear it because my skin isn’t overcompensating for moisture loss. So I love it. Dr. Drey , I wish you talked about it more rather than just writing it off!!

I think they're generally the same as long as you get the right types of LED. Some brands throw on the rainbow lights but those seem gimmicky and not as research-backed as red and near-infrared lights. Ofc there might be preferences in terms of design and whatnot too

@@soshi-805 How do you know what the right types of LED are? Most say infrared led 600nm or something like that , but have no clue what that means lol 😆 and some have different colors for different skin issues. For me personally it doesn't have to look fancy as long as it gives results 😊

I haven’t tried the new moisturizers because my skin doesn’t do well with urea. But I LOVE the glycolipid cleanser. My skin has gotten more oily/combo this year, and the glycolipid cleanser is a great alternative to the squalane cleanser, which I have always loved. I agree that the foaming cleanser is pretty meh. I have mixed feelings about NAG serum. I didn’t really notice any results from it until I started using it as a spot treatment on red marks from pimples immediately after the pimple has resolved. It doesn’t seem to help if I use it while the pimple is still active, but once the pimple has resolved, the NAG serum fades the redness like nothing else I’ve ever seen. PIE likes to hang around on my skin for YEARS, but with this serum twice a day, the redness is reduced probably ~75% in less than a week! I do like to layer it with a niacinamide serum, but no niacinamide serum has had that kind of effect by itself. However, it does take a lot longer to fade that last 25%. I’ve been getting some bad breakouts since May, and even with this serum (and everything else I use), I don’t think any of the marks are completely faded. Still, it’s amazing to be able to get rid of the majority of the redness so quickly. I will repurchase it as long as I’m still getting breakouts. Used as a spot treatment like this, I probably only need one bottle a year, so it’s a pretty good deal.

I've been using the NMF + Beta Glucan as my daytime moisturizer for the summer and find it good, but not great. I found the finish a bit tacky, and didn't offer a lot of spreadability/play time. I much prefer for Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel though for those looking for a gel with beta-glucan.

Hi Dr Dray! I've tried the aloe + nag serum and have hyperpigmentation and some redness from acne. It slightly helped fade my hyperpigmentation and made my skin look glowy. Thanks for your honest review. I have been using all of these new products as well ever since they came out. I agree on all point’s except on the two moisturizers. I am in my 50s and live in colder dry climate with rosacea prone skin. I was using higher priced moisturizers to keep my skin from drying out each day (i.e $70 CAD per 50ml) and since these two new NMFs came out…I no longer need! I use NMF + beta glucan in morning with a drop of pycnogenol under my SPF and it feels like a hydrating primer. I layer both at night and skin is soft and hydrated all night. Tip: use a small amount of NMF with phytoceramides and no shine!! Easily spreads and seals nicely! I am so happy I no longer need to buy skin fix or biossance anymore!!

My friend works in the cosmetic industry and he tood me The Ordinary is fairly cheap because they buy their products in bulk. However, they do not always buy from the same suppliers but rather whatever is the cheapest/best deal, which means their quality control isn't the best since certain suppliers have better control of their ingredients/better quality. I remember one time I used their moisturizer and did not like it because it was weird and gritty. Another time I used it and it was way better. I LOVE the Ordinary's serums more than anything.

Actually living in Europe I realised after few years of constant use of the ordinary, there are far better products in the same price range or at times for lesser price! I think the ordinary used to be good several years ago. After the suicide of the genuinus who created the ordinary, the products lost its quality! I really doubt influencers and dermatologists who still praise the ordinary actually ever used them! This is happening with Paula's choice too! Unfortunately ! Paula's choice quality is becoming questionable and in Europe you do have a lot other options with better pricing.

I absolutely love the glycolipid cream cleanser! It's my fave of their launches. it's so silky, soft in texture, I love the feeling onto my skin! Also love the natural scent it has. I use it in the morning or as a second cleanser. The aloe serum felt really hydrating and easy to absorb - I thought it has a great texture compared to other Ordinary serums which can be more tacky or soapy. However, it didn't do anything in terms of texture/skintone. Glucoside cleanser just okay - foaming but non drying - however didn't feel special in any ways and I don't like the soapy scent. Betaglucan - I just like that it feels super fresh onto the skin and almost soothing, I like it on my body after shower but haven't used much onto my face. The phyto ceramides one - I don't like the feeling of that al all - feels like it's coating the skin with oils - you are right, feels like spf! Also I am prone to acne so not sure it's good for me. Mixing Beta and Phyto somehow works okay - same for mixing them with the classic NMF

My experience: I have combination, sensitive, rosacea-prone skin (types 1 and 4). TO Aloe 2% NAG 2%: I find this to be very hydrating and my skin has had lessening of my visible pores but I also use this with the Glossier niacinimide serum with zinc (chose this because the niacinimide is only 5% which is a good level for me) TO Multipeptude Eye Serum I only use it below my eyes and a little under my brows because if I use it on the lid it gets in my eyes and stings. You only need 1/2 drop for both eyes total. I think it's hydrating. When I finish the bottle I'll skip it to see what happens. I do also use the caffeine ecgc serum but all over my face and I love that serum so much. I started using it for red light therapy because of the green tea but my skin loves it so I've purchased many bottles. TO Glycolipid Cream Cleanser absolutely love. I first use Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water, then this cleanser. Holy grail for me.

I've been searching for something for my dark, puffy eye bags but i lost a bit of faith in The Ordinary. I'm a guy turning 40 and just started taking care of my face. Used TO's Granactive Retinoid for 6 months + Ascorbic acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%. Used the retinoid daily and the other every other day. Saw no difference in the skin apart from getting a strange yellow cast on my face, probably from the alpha arbutin. Switched to Retinol 0.5% and Vitamin C 23% + HA Spheres. Also used them for another 6 months and again, no difference. The vitamin C cream texture was awful not to mention the smell. I have oily skin in my nose and forehead and that just made things worse. Never felt any redness, tingling, peeling, etc from any of those products. Recently i switched them for tretinoin (also kept the moisturizing factors) and 4 months later and there is already a pretty visible difference in my skin. The only TO product that i used that might have helped was the AHA 30% + BHA 2% that i used weekly. It did leave my skin smoother (i didn't feel any burning or tingling with that one either, my skin must be made or rock). My skin does peel a bit with tretinoin in the places where i shave (electric razor, not blade) but apart from that i tolerate it very well. Although i like the the natural MF + HA, it's a bit greasy for my skin and never fully absorbs. I might give the beta glucan one a shot. In your side by side videos showing the effects of the eye serum, i see no difference between the two. I think that the effects of caffeine for the purpose of de-puffing the eyes are placebo most of the time. Going to search a bit for alternatives to The Ordinary that don't break the bank.

This prevents fluid from pooling around the area (stretching the delicate skin) as you sleep...particularly if you sometimes sleep on your front. I find a firm pillow (latex or memory foam) is better to remain sleeping on one's back for the entire night. I also sometimes use one of those (small concave triangle) slide sleepers' knee pillows as a head & neck pillow...to keep myself from turning to the side. Sleeping on one's back is also advantageous to minimise face wrinkles. People who are sensitive/allergic to pollen dust etc. find the antihistamine nasal sprays/eye drops usually reduce associated eye bags/ puffiness/dark circles. I only get puffy eyes now if I don't get enough sleep, drink white wine (I only drink a small glass glass of red wine with dinner), don't wear a dust mask when emptying/cleaning the vacuum cleaner bag/filters...or if I've been crying! Thankfully, because I'm very happy, I haven't had to use The Ordinary's caffeine drops for that lately... So I'd better check the "use by" date! I hope this helps you or others somehow. 👱🏻‍♀️❤️

@@nadab4750 It's going to be a bit hard for me 😅. Not only it's my least favorite position to sleep, sometimes i also snort if i sleep on my back. I only started having puffy eyes 5 or 6 years ago when i started taking anxiolytic medication. I'm sleepy lots of times and my eyes feel tired even if i have a wonderful night sleep. I'm better now so maybe i'll talk with my doctor to see if i can slowly decrease it.

The Ordinary rip-off brands (Good Molecules, Inkey List, Revolution Skincare blah blah) are generally inferior (by some margin) though, you can experiment 'cos they have a few different products that TO doesn't have (check for fragrance though all 3 of those sneak it in sometimes) but I'd say a 1:1 comparison of the exact same product TO tends to win. If you want to keep Vit C in there, I think CeraVe has one now? I'm cf so I can't use them, I use Paula's Choice but that is well expensive. Really if you've left it this late, then it's tretinoin, tretinoin, tretinoin, militant sunscreen use, hydration/moisturising and if you really need it, either chemical exfoliation (like you I have texture so I use AHA and BHA) and temporary spot-treatment with hydroquinone on major sunspots/marks (a little dob of that mixed with tret worked literal miracles within like, a week). The rest to me is just a) make sure my skin is properly clean (double cleanse to get that sunscreen (and in my case makeup) off! Life changing) b) hope that Vitamin C might help 'cos why not I can afford it. I left it late too and tretinoin and sunscreen has done the bulk of the heavy lifting which is unsurprising. I love that you're doing this btw. Great to see men becoming more interested in taking care of their skin. It's important! Not just for skin health but also, nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel good. Don't forget sunscreen my man, men are far more prone to skin cancer than women. Keep it up!

@@taranullius9221 Thank you for your kind reply. Yeah i didn't mention sunscreen because it's pretty much a requirement with Vit-a. I remember i tried tretinoin more than a decade ago. My doctor prescribed it to me but didn't even mention sunscreen, just to apply the tretinoin at night. Next day i left the house to do my business (without sunscreen), middle of summer, UV index trough the roof. Arrived home with huge and painful burn marks on my face. Anyway, i'm also late with sunscreen. Only started using it when i decided to take care of my skin. I used to go to the beach and not use a single drop of sunscreen. Sometimes i would arrive home completely red and laying down to sleep was hard because the entire body hurt.. yikes.. what was i thinking about. I'm lucky because i'm not much of a beach guy and my job doesn't require me to be in the sun. I have better skin than my sister and we're about the same age (she goes to the beach a lot (but always used sunscreen)). My ex was the type of girl that almost never used makeup and rarely applied any creams to her body/face. That probably help in me not thinking about it either. It was youtube that started showing me these types of videos and make me care 😁 . I'm not sad that i didn't start earlier (apart from the sunscreen), i'll be happy if i manage to "freeze" my appearance for a while or slow aging down a bit

I don’t know what it is about some of the ordinary’s serums (niacinamide, amino acid, marine hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid) but my skin breaks out the next day. Painful bumps. I want to try the new aloe one but I’m so nervous. The only one that I don’t get a reaction to is the alpha arbutin.

I purchased the NMF + Beta Glucan Moisturizer, hoping it would be great for my mostly oily skin, and I think I agree with your assessment of it. I don't feel like it moisturizes. Rather, it creates a tacky, sticky feeling that I don't like. Putting sunscreen over it hasn't been an issue (I'm using paula's choice spf 50) as far as pilling goes, but the combination makes me shinier than a donut, and not in a good way. It looks more like I have a thin layer of oil all over my face.

I've tried the moisturizers and the glycolipid cleanser. I found the lighter moisturizer pilled and the heavier one was too greasy looking. And I'm someone who regularly puts Vaseline all over my face in the winter. The glycolipid cleanser is amazing. Super gentle. Maybe even more than the hydrating options from cerave, LRP and Cetaphil. I almost never find anything i like from the ordinary so I'm pleasantly surprised that they released this

I tried the aloe serum + glycolipid cleanser + nmf beta glucan Aloe serum was used solo with a moisturizer and spf during the day and this sadly broke me out. The glypolipd cream cleanser is a favorite! I’ve recently ordered two more! Scent is subjective and this personally reeks like rotten cilantro! (Smelled by 4 people and it’s conclusive) it’s possible I got a bad batch I don’t know .. but I curb that with ONE drop of tea tree oil. The gel moisturizer was a fail for me UNTIL I combined it with an emulsion.

Thank the Lawd for Dr. Dray's educated & Informative breakdown of products, Secondly, Dr.Dray im sure you get many compliments day to day, However, you may want to revisit the idea of the Ordinary Serum for your personal routine, because your subscribers have given you soooooo many compliments, and i have no doubt that maybe typical, you are glowing, tgat being said, its tge variety of compliments, one usually receives when something's different, and you just cant put your finger on it, like some said " glowing" "very pretty" some said "that's definitely your color cornflower blue to wear, many said you look Amazing, and 1 even said "Amazing, we need details " like is a new crush or something else exciting" So as i said 20 minute subscriber, and new- you're either pregnant or that serum is possibly contributing, details please 😁 edit- oh yes and a few said "love your make-up today" *message in reference to barrier serum* I watched that video, sorry it was this video, on aloe that all tge comments were on, so message board skipped, but something is still doing something lol"

I have very sensitive skin. Allergies, eczema, and I use tretinoin so all my skincare is dedicated to hydration and barrier support. I absolutely love the foaming cleanser, cream cleanser, and the phytoceramide moisturizer. I was so impressed by the ordinary for these new products. I feel that most of the products I’ve tried from them are oily and tacky but these three are definitely improvements to me personally.

For the longest time, I bought skincare products from a Canadian company called Isomers. They offered, about 15-20 years ago, a lot of the actives used by The Ordinary and many other skincare lines. They tend to be super expensive, though, and I wonder if their formulations are elegant enough to warrant the price tag, or if we should stick to The Inkey List, The Ordinary, Cerave, etc.

Hi I had a question about controlling body odor using benzoyl peroxide in the under arm area alongside the use of an antiperspirant in the evening. If electrolysis were done in that area and all hair was permanently removed, would it still be necessary to use benzoyl peroxide wash and an antiperspirant to control sweat output or would it not be an issue to the absence of hairs? Thanks

Have you tried using an eyelash primer before you apply your mascara? It builds up the length & width of your eyelashes (even the'invisible' ones) before you apply your favouriite mascara. The brand Essence has a clear gel eyelash primer at a very economical price. I use a mini size eyelash curler first (it won't snip your eyelids), then eyelash primer, wait a minute, then apply the first layer of mascara, wait, then the second layer of mascara. Apart from eyelash curler, do this to upper and lower lashes. Waterproof mascara holds the curl better than the regular I also have a mascara with a tiny brush wand, which is handy for the fine lower lashes, inner upper lashes and for removing any clumps. Your eyelashes will get more sparce if you continuously use false eyelashes. Keep them for special occasions instead...or even just use a couple of individual lashes on the outer corner. Apply them a couple of lashes in from the end, this has a more uplifting effect. I hope this helps. 👱🏻‍♀️❤️
