The second-largest city in Northern Ireland, Derry, situated on the River Foyle, was severely affected by The Troubles - a conflict that is widely considered to have begun in the city, with many regarding the Battle of the Bogside (an inner suburb of the city) as the beginning of the Troubles.
Today, Derry is a vibrant city that attracts tourists from all over the world.
