So, something that bothered me about this movie: in the first movie, Mal used a love spell to seduce Ben away from Audrey. Ben and Audrey’s relationship is never shown to have any problems until Mal shows up. However, Mal doesn’t suffer any repercussions for what she did, as Ben is flattered by her subverting his free will to force him into a relationship with her. Based on Ben’s previous characterization, this movie should have ended with him deciding he likes Uma now, because “she only roofied me because she loves me uwu.”

Yes, but if you read the books you can tell what Ben and Audrey had wasn't real, it was most likely set up by their parents, especially since, if you watch the 3rd film, you know her grandmother gets mad at her for not being with him anymore, and there is pictures of them as king and queen from when they were in like, preschool, when they were definitely too young. But yes, honestly, Mal had more chemistry with Harry than Ben, and I hate their relationship and how it feels so forced.
