I absolutely Love the french doors that way! Love the wreaths hung off ribbon on them, just beautiful! I wouldn't even use the privacy film, I would grab a magnet curtain rod and add a white non transparent sheer to it on the inside that guests can use and then you can just slide them over where they won't be seen from the dining room when they leave or aren't in the room! Really love the nativity in that niche! Gorgeous!

Natalee, thanks for showing what real decorating looks like. It’s tubs of decorations everywhere. Anyone who doesn’t have this is not really decorating. It’s pulling stuff out of the tubs and figuring out where you’re going to put things. Even changing your mind after you’ve done it. Then of course it’s vacuuming up all the stuff that falls on the floor. You are the real decorator! You even fix things when you run out of garland. Kudos to you! And if you have a big house the tubs will be out for a few days. Just decorating my tree takes 3 days (I’m 70). I think the hardest part is putting away all the regular decor. I’m lucky enough to have a closet my husband put elfa shelves in just for decor. Then I bite my tongue when the day after Christmas my sister calls and mentions she has her tree down and everything done!!! I think billionaires go away for the holidays just so they don’t have to decorate. December is a long time to be gone. Then you have the guilt trip of decorating because your grandchildren are coming to visit if even for a day. I sound like a Bah Humbug! Take care

That doorway remake looks spectacular. It really goes well with the black tones in the other room, the chairs, the clock, etc. It all just ties in together now. The new rug looks really nice. On fast forward you make the prep look deceptively easy! Taping is my LEAST favourite part of painting. I highly recommend you check out liquid masking tape. You paint it on the glass, no worries if it gets on the wood too, then you paint, score and peel the glass coating off. It is so easy! Another privacy option you might be interested in. In a similar situation at my house, I used a tension rod just inside the doors and hung an inexpensive-but-pretty shower curtain. I would use the zippered pillow cases inside the regular ones as a pillow cover to help keep the pillows fresh. Great tip to use a twin throw over the foot of a larger bed instead of buying a more expensive queen, etc. All done my painting project and Christmas decorating. Just competed planning a spring kitchen reno. I am also done my Christmas shopping and card writing, starting on wrapping /movie watching marathon tomorrow. I am hosting Christmas, but no out of town company. Can't wait to do all the baking and cooking prep and then put my feet up! Nice job on the doors and table 💜
