The extra cushion on the Thomasville chair really took it up a notch and your Pottery Barn chairs look even better than the one for sale at Pottery Barn with that fabric you put on. The striping and French label are so cute.

The chair looks amazing! Great tips for applying piping! You worked so hard on the table, however my personal taste would have been to apply a dark stain finish to the entire look. But you did s terrific re-look to the table! You have amazing ideas and have a great personality! Thanks for sharing with us!❤️

I love the shiplap frame. I snagged 4 of the shiplap look paneling, sheets 24” x 48 “ for free at Lowe’s! Score!!! Now I know what I’m going to do with it. This will look great over the upgraded printer table (that was a TV stand like in video # 1 here) and allow me to display my craft things in jars and boxes on a larger shelf on the wall. A pretty addition to brighten up a dull office!

Hi NataLee! You inspire me! Sharing a craftsman tip - Bondo will fill damage to wooden and ceramic pieces that will be painted. Dries hard, sands, screws and drills! Even use in molds. Don't overfill! Work fast..dries quickly. Restored my picket fence tips and chewed furniture tips. It would have worked for your spindle jewelry stand! I wish I knew how to cricket...I loved your monogram on great Grandma's silver box!

to answer your question, YES! I do love revamping old furniture into pretty pieces of usable piece of furniture. i was a young adult with a family during the 70's, 80's and 90's and when my husband and i built our new house, we purchased new and expensive furniture and never changed anything. back then, it was unheard of to revamp, paint over, or convert a pc of furniture used for one purpose into something to use another way. there was no such thing as chalk paint or other products people use now. i dont even recall a thrift store back then, either. the "thing" to do then was have good furniture, china, crystal, silver eating utensils for the formal dining room and everyday home life was done more formally than the casual way we live now! if back then when i was younger, i would have done things like people do now b/c i love it. i was raised by a carpenter who taught me how to paint (oil base) and varnish, sand, put on another coat, sand, another coat, sand with steel wool until the finish was almost like from the factory! i love watching the make-overs that you do. i have a question, you revamped an Eathan Allen chair. did you take off the old cushion fabric and put new padding? my mama covered our sofa one time and i learned to always take off the old and put new! you ought to see what i have hanging on my living room wall, which was a "no-no" 30 & 40 years ago! i love what people do now for decor in the home! HOORAY!

Love some of your projects. The Ethan Allen chair redo is a good idea. The additional part of the cushion was confusing. I have done everything from wedding dresses to upholstery. Love EVERYTHING, but my favorites were that Table with those curvy legs and the last piece, the tv dresser buffet! I personally would have done the chairs for the dining room table the same as the bottom legs, distressed white. Just my preference, but yours are gorgeous after your work that you did on them! I have a very old dining room set, authentic pecan wood in very very good condition except the bottom side edge of one spot of the table. The laminate chipped off from the movers moving it from Mom and Dads home to hear, 45. Invites away. I’m seriously thinking of doing the chairs in a light or dark color with new upholstery and putting all new legs underneath the table and the chairs. I hate these skinny angular Grecian looking legs, never did like them. The chairs are came backed and sweet, no arms, but they need an upgrade badly, so they will get the treatment you did on that can backed sitting chair. Will recover the seats myself too. I can’t sew, but I can staple like crazy!

Thank you for bringing up the humidity issue. It affects drying time and interferes with curing the paint as it dries. Curing water based paints especially is important.

A dehumidifier is a really good investment if you have an enclosed area for painting, I first used one to speed drywall jobs, but learned they would pull paint down tight and create a smooth finish while drying faster.

All great make overs. A tip about satin polyurethane. You need to carefully mix it often while using. This keeps the particles that dull the finish from settling in the bottom. If you don't, the finish will be glossy.

I've been enjoying your hack and DIY decorating tips KZbins. I have a couple of suggestions you might want to check out. First, if your microfiber cloth is polyester, it will not be absorbent and will take longer to wipe off the car wax from mirrors. Look for 100% cotton microfibers---perhaps at car supply shops. Second, if you use white vinegar to add to your Durham water putty, the mixture will stay pliable longer. Third, you can get handles for spray cans from Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. that fit onto the nozzles of spray cans. The trick is to make sure the attachment is compatible with the can you are using.
