I love your videos, Interesting perspective. I too used to purchase items to "prove" I could afford it. Now, if I don't absolutely love it when I put it on, I don't buy it. If I do love it, I ask myself "where would I wear this?" It has to be either a multi functional item OR I can wear it more than once. 😊

H.A.L.T. = ✋🏾Hungry , Angry, Lonely or Tired.... I never shop (and avoid making big decisions) when I’m feeling ANY of these things. The results are usually bad when I ignore my gut.

Haha! Love this! My bridesmaid had silver shoes LOL but I did buy them for her to wear at least ;-)I get some of these triggers too. Less so the "impress the sales rep and buy the designer bag" because I've never bought a designer bag, but definitely the others, and other triggers rather than a strict necessity. I was battling an eating disorder and the amount of parcels that arrived whilst I was an inpatient in 2012 was RIDICULOUS! Filling one void with another. I do still love and appreciate some of the items I bought during this time, and most were purchased 2nd hand online thankfully, but boy did I donate some clothes and accessories once I realised what I'd done, and that things weren't me, or that I'd settled, or that things just didn't fit my new body like I thought they would blah blah blah. Valuable lessons both figuratively and literally haha. Thanks for the refresher and reminder. I'm about to hit fresh treatment this month (not inpatient) and I don't need to relive the overbuying! I like the way you speak, its calming. The slow pace is good! There have been other sites I could get interested in because of the topic but because they speak too fast or sound nervous themselves, I can’t watch as it creates an internal feeling of anxiety or tension in me.

Emotional spending is a killer. Wanted a dress I knew I would never wear. Bought t-shirt, a fancy one instead. At least I know I will wear it! Dodged that one. But all the shoes and boots. Shame! Shame!

Silver shoes = Christmas or New Years party! Plus they are really pretty. I like silver shoes! Why don’t you keep until after the holidays?? Or not. Wish I could buy them. I’m a piano teacher and unfortunately, my budget doesn’t allow for more than $50 on a pair of shoes 😭. Maybe close to $100 for a pair of leather boots I expect to wear for several years Plus, I’m a size 8 - 81/2. I love watching anyway, and live vicariously through you. Thank you, Lauren! ❤️

Murder Shoes. Will you please tell me companies that have comfortable leather (that is not pig leather). Men have shoes that are comfortable. Someone hates women and disrespects us, when it comes to our shoes. All looks and no balance, no smart architecture, no respect for the flesh sensitivity of our feet, so sad, most of the time.
