Dude, right? I thought i was doing well enough in my spiritual walk and then this sermon dashes me to dust. Now I'm even questioning my salvation...?! I'm terrified to believe in things that give me assurance because what if I'm believing in a comforting lie, yet I don't know what to do with the terror of my conviction!! Not sure if this is how you feel or not but I related to your comment.

I have felt the Love and Joy of our Lord Jesus Christ and it’s beyond comprehension and words. Pastor John said that it’s like an exploding supernova and I think that’s such an interesting analogy. The best way I’ve ever been able to describe to others Gods love was like standing in front of the sun. Literally standing in front of the sun but instead of being disintegrated by heat the heat was love. Just magnificent glorious rays of mind shattering love. It wasn’t the love that we know but a love that was pure like the essence of love and it had the power magnitude of the sun at a range of 5ft. It’s was just unreal. Praise Jesus!! 🙌🙌🙌

I've never used drugs so the "high" is unknown to me but when the Holy Spirit filled me on a Saturday afternoon.......indescribable for me. I have never felt such peace in my whole life. I was just living in the moment when the Holy Spirit gave me some answers to some "unanswered" prayers from my past. I had sort of buried them out of frustration but out of nowhere, I now knew why they weren't answered, and it made perfect sense why. Simply amazing! I'm praying that one day I will be able to experience that again.

“Glorifying” God does not mean that He “needs” MORE glory.... it means REFLECTING God. (Per shorter catechism) What is the finest way to REFLECT God? WITNESSING to others. My GREATEST (!!!) joys have been watching the Holy Spirit change a heart of stone to a heart of flesh... right before my eyes! Witnessing is so fun! We get to participate with God’s regeneration of a human being! He WANTS us to participate.

I feel like the people he described at 17:26. I don't delight in God, and because of that, I don't have assurance of my salvation. I feel miserable and I'm terrified that I'm not actually saved. I know he said that it's a good thing for me to respond this way, but my question is: now what? What's my next step? What's the point in "fighting for joy" if I might not even be saved?

Kylee B listen to part 3 through 6. I felt that same way, But if God is true, which I believe He is and His mercies are true, seek him and don’t give up. Think of Romans 5:8., and know that non who run to Him will He turn away!

the Devil wouldn't know God that well in my opinion (from 25:22 -25:47) as only God would know the creatures he created "inside out", but who can comprehend God in all his greatness. A God that makes existence exist, through which all things are created and held. "No one has knowledge of the Father (God) but the Son..." Matthew 11:27

Benjamin Ros He isn't saying that the Devil knows God in a personal way like we do, but that he knows a lot ABOUT God. The devil knows theologically speaking about the attributes of God, but Satan he hates him.

We are ALL sinners that fall short of the glory of God. And we ALL are deserving of eternal punishment in hell because sin is so serious (sin is evil and it is the cause of all pain, death, and suffering). And that’s why Jesus suffered soooo much for us, and that’s why He died on the cross for ALL our sins (past, present, AND future sins) and rose from the dead 3 days later! Jesus did all this because He loves us sooooo much, you can’t even fully comprehend it! And you may have eternal life with Him if you repent (to change your mind about Jesus, to believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord our God) and have faith in Him, then you will be saved! (Let’s make it clear that being a good person WILL NOT get you into Heaven! You can only be saved by the grace God will show you, if you repent and have faith in Jesus and in what Jesus did for us on the cross and that He rose from the dead 3 days after He died for us! ONLY THEN, will you will be saved)! And do not wait because you do not know when you will die (sit and think deeply about that. You have NO CLUE when you will die! Today could be your last day, tonight could be your last night. You can die in your sleep or even in the next hour!) I want you to realize how urgent and important it is to have Jesus! But if you have Jesus, you will NEVER have to worry! You won’t have to worry about school, family problems, life, or EVEN DEATH because you will have the LORD your GOD, RIGHT BY YOUR SIDE, EVERY SINGLE DAY, EVERY SINGLE HOUR, EVER SINGLE MINUTE and EVERY SINGLE SECOND of your life! GOD can help you through ANY challenge, through ANY hardship, and through ANY depressing time in your life! GOD WILL NEVER leave you, GOD WILL NEVER forget about you, GOD WILL NEVER betray you, GOD WILL NEVER forsake you, and GOD WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!!! And that is why GOD is calling you RIGHT NOW to be saved!

The creation can't know the creator inside out, what John is saying is satan knows God well enough to know or be able to predict God's response, or His reaction. As we know our parents or children.
