It’s funny how even though he lost his own foot and may have struggled at first hunting, he decides to still see the mirror

This is so cool. Providing enrichment for the animals in the jungle. As a psychology student, it's so interesting to see the different animals' reactions to seeing themselves in the mirror - some of the gorillas almost seem to be understanding the concept that it is their own reflection rather than another animal. It's sad to see the leopard missing a paw, I wondered if he wouldn't be able to hunt anymore. Thank you for providing the information in the end that he has restored his weight and continues to hunt. Amazing how animals can adapt to changing circumstances.

Unfortunately this leopard did not trigger any of my cameras in front of my mirrors in 2021. Many of them are out of order and I have not been able to repair or replace them because I have not travelled to Gabon since the end of 2019 due to the pandemic. Keep watching the new videos that I put online on my channel and read the description attached to each one of them. *After reading numerous comments calling for the dismantling of these sadistic mirrors, your feedback on my videos encourages us to pursue our overwhelming and somewhat dangerous passion.* It is a great reward for my wife Anne-Marie, my friend Michel and me. We are not comfortably sitting in our armchairs, to publish without any description, pieces of videos copied from the Internet and put end to end. But we maintain our mirrors and numerous cameras traps, to change the SD, batteries, to clean the objectives, to remove the fallen branches in their field of vision, to go up on foot the bed of the marigots to find zones of crossing of animals to install new traps there etc... Drenched by tornadoes, the body covered with insect bites of all kinds (horseflies, gorilla flies, tsetse, black ants, magnan ants etc.) and unfortunately the number of cameras refusing to work increases because of the humidity rate of 95%. Then we do the editing of the videos and write a long description in English which is not our native language and then put them online to show the beauty of Gabonese fauna, talk about poachers, show how elephants who have managed to get away from a wire snare trap, treat the deep cut made by this trap, show how elephants pick mangos, self recognition in mirrors that is not innate both among humans than among primates and other mammals and so on... It's a choice.. May I suggest you some of my 160 home-made videos from my channel which have never been recommended by KZbin and which unfortunately have a very small number of views even though they are very instructive such as: A male and a female leopard overuse a mirror for their SMS. @Hard_milk close-minded? sour? what you should consider are: is there a way to reduce poverty and give proper jobs to these people? Is there a way to reduce population growth in impoverished areas so we can focus on providing better education to the citizens? your sympathy serves NO value. Not helping anyone - human beings/animals. and having sympathy for them does not mean these poachers should not be punished. they should be punished HARD to give an example to other potential offenders. The same logic applies to the criminals kidnapping kids so as to get the money to feed their family - what's behind the motives does not make their crimes less severe.

@@egebabus3423 I think you actually lack empathy haha. Don't try to justify poaching... the point is that humans have the capacity to understand suffering and because of that we are morally culpable. The leppard does not. The people doing this stuff have plenty of viable and more productive options to make their money provided they live in any sort of modern society. It's literally poachers that lack empathy and think it's ok to harm or kill other sentient beings in order to make money. It's not an issue of being close minded and not seeing the other side. It's morally wrong regardless of the circumstances that lead to it.

I wonder if the Leopard is gay and thinks the mirror is a lover that finally understands him and he lost his foot because the other leopards are homophobes and beat him up

Did you consider a possibility that the snare cut his foot while trying to get to your mirror in excitement? hmm!

For fear of being filmed and denounced, poachers avoid setting snares in the area of my mirrors. Moreover, they are looking for small game and not the leopard, whose flesh is not appreciated and therefore its true market value.

@@XHB06400CANNES The leopards certainly walk from afar to the area of your mirrors. Anyway, I'm curious to know how the primates and big cats share the habitat in peace. I would expect the gorillas / chimps to be irritated at the sight of a big cat. Have you ever witnessed any incident?

@@jon_s In the region where my mirrors are placed, the main carnivore (except for poachers who avoid going there because of the presence of more than 70 trap cameras kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHrShoBmi9OMpMk ) is the leopard. It is a solitary animal that does not hunt in a troop. It avoids attacking solitary male elephants as well as families with children because of their power of reaction in case of attack. It avoids attacking a calf in a herd of forest buffalo because of their aggressiveness. He avoids attacking monkeys (mandrills) and great apes (gorillas and chimpanzees) because of their cohesion and moreover he does not climb trees well. Moreover the flesh of these mammals is not very tasty except for the buffalo calf. The leopard appreciates small game such as small antelopes (blue duikers), porcupines and especially palm rats. It should be noted that chimpanzees, frugivores and herbivores occasionally eat small monkeys such as the putty-nosed monkey (Cercopithecus nictitans). Thus there is a kind of statuquo between elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees, buffaloes and leopards that avoid meeting each other, all the more so because in this forest 'there is no competition for food, fruits and stems as marantaceae, being numerous in all seasons. Chimpanzees and gorillas are smart great apes, they avoid meeting each other so as not to have to settle disputes between neighbours. When ones are in learning session in the mirror, the others wait their turn to take their place in front of the mirror. Please read the description attached to each of my videos 160 homemade published on my KZbin channel you will know very interesting informations about animals reactions front of my mirrors in the jungle kzbin.infovideos Please watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2rXiaR-rJKXqpI (Young gorillas fascinated by their reflection in the forest ignore a large group of mandrills) and after read my attached description.

@@XHB06400CANNES Wow! Thank you so much for bringing these fascinating footages from the wild and inaccessible jungles to us people stuck at home. I appreciate what you do as I know how difficult this can be as a photographer myself. I wish you all the success and happiness in the world.
