@user-mr6hc9hy2t7 сағат бұрын
Lol it is funny how unwilling people are to call someone they don't like intelligent. I think it's since we generally perceive intelligence as a positive trait, so we have a hard time dealing with the cognitive dissonance of "person who we don't like has good traits." Destiny is pretty clearly a smart guy. How smart? No idea, but he is at least above average intelligence. The key is that being smart doesn't make someone more correct. Smart people have a stronger sense of rationale, but rationale does not necessarily yield right answers. People like to think that we use rationale to arrive at right answers, and while we *can* use for it that, 95% of the time we use rationale to internally justify our opinions and actions. Which means smart people are often "better" at being wrong. As they will be able to use their strong sense of rationale to rationalize their own position, which can lead to stubbornness and close-mindedness. A dumb and a smart person have the same wrong opinion: but it is much easier to poke holes in the dumb person's rationale.
@William-Tyndale7 сағат бұрын
@@user-mr6hc9hy2t I have no issue saying Destiny is above average intelligence. He's middle management smart. The problem is he's presented as being significantly above average and not slightly above average. "The key is being smart doesn't make someone more correct". That's mostly wrong. Being smart doesn't mean you must be right on any given topic, but it does mean you are better at problem solving and creative reasoning which will result in you being right more often than others. This is why IQ is a legitimate measure of intelligence as it is strongly associated with "being right" on any given test and is just as strongly associated with learning new things. If you don't reason to arrive at the truth, but reason to justify your own biases then you are being less intelligent than you would be if your aim was truth as reasoning toward truth is the defining factor of intelligence. Someone who constantly does everything they can to justify their biases over against trying to arrive at the truth is providing evidence that they aren't that smart.

Cornballs like Fake and Fraud, and plenty other people in many circles seem to value loyalty to their agenda over all else. And as long as their allies follow their agenda, they'll win as many gold medals in mental gymnastics as they have to in order to defend those people (but of course as soon as an "ally" goes against their agenda, ties are cut). These people see this as integrity, when it's a lack of integrity, and a lack of morals. Being willing to admit when you're wrong. Being willing to stand by your morals even if you must step away from someone you once called friend. Having consistency and not bending your sense of right and wrong according to what's being done toward who and by whom. That's actual integrity and strength of character.

I really like this video, recently I have been having a sort of moral ambivalence or moral ambiguity, really causing a lot of internal stress on if I am living my life the way I want to live it. Watching Aba here really grounded me, he was honest in his feelings towards the situation, he isn't appearing as condescending, hes just a friend of Destiny and he is ashamed of his friends actions. And he explains beautifully what exactly he found wrong about his actions. As a younger person, struggling with understanding what is right or wrong and watching someone with a solid moral compass has made me feel a lot more grounded and has cleared up the cloud of confusion that I have been experiencing recently. Not to mention all the stuff about being mindful and responsible about how your actions not only affect the people involved but also affect the people in your vicinity. I appreciate you for this video Aba.

Love to hear it. I have conversations on this topic with my friends from time to time and I think most people would agree that if you live a lifestyle with no boundaries, you’re going to end up playing with fire. And essentially if someone thinks like Destiny does, it’s like playing with fire and not expecting to get burned. People need boundaries, otherwise you’ll just create chaos, live a life with no purpose or straight up just damage yourself and others.

Sometimes it helps hearing someone else be able to articulate it and then things just kind of click. I've had a similar phase in my life in the last few years. Things I didn't really have an opinion on, I now have strong feelings and know exactly where I stand. But there are other things I am still working through in my head. It's part of growing up and maturing ☺️ totally normal if you don't have it all sorted yet. And it's ok to be ambiguous because it usually means you have more of an open mind to actually listen to both sides - rather than people who ignorantly take a side and have severe cognitive dissonance.

@@unicornkitteh5332Thank you for this comment, and you said it best. It really did click in my head, I'm still working through it however. And that process itself is uncomfortable but I know that what I am aiming for takes a lot of uncomfortable conversations with yourself and sometimes other people. But I know that the result of that is what I would like to aim for, to be a better person for myself, my friends, and my partner. What you said about being open minded, that also really made me realize a lot of things about myself, and explained alot of why I think certain ways. There's a lot of stuff I'll need to sort out. But you've been a great help. Thank you again, take care of your yourself

The thing that bugs me the most out of this whole destiny situation is that you won’t be on his streams anymore. You were the only voice of reason out of anyone he brought on there and even if he might not agree the more you were on the more I saw him switch around with more of the things he would do online. I figured he would’ve done better by now after seeing you in person and seeing how his lifestyle is destructive. A lot of people on stream told him the same things you said, but when you said it you could see the look on his face how he took it differently than with the others. I was hoping he would’ve changed the more he was around you but I guess it is what it is at this point.

Destiny is an adult and Aba's not his father 😂 what made you think this one voice of reason was going to fix whatever another grown man had issues with? You can fix a lot of character flaws, but selfishness is one of the hardest ones to fix.
@FangsOfKomodoКүн бұрын
the man is 40. its hard to change a pattern that he's probably done for 20 odd years. in the end, he's selfish. always has been. and clearly, takes advantage of vulnerable girls, or girls chasing clout. he's not a good dude, no matter how you agree with him politically.
@jameskeene9317Күн бұрын
@@FangsOfKomodo you act like that’s some kind of definitive answer. Anyone can change anything. It just take the right circumstances. If being selfish is impossible to change then why would we expect drug addicts to go clean? In all reality you could make a drug addict give up selfishness over drugs any day of the week. The catalyst in all of this is the right circumstances. Destinys orbit was full of really weird and crazy people (men and women included), but aba was a constant of change and normality that he needs around him and that’s all that mattered. I guarantee you if this wouldn’t have happened and aba would’ve stuck for longer he would’ve been different over time. You can disagree all you want but watching the talks after lav and Mr girl between them two was a far better agreed upon and better form discussion than other orbiters telling him the exact same things. And I believe that destiny took a lot of what aba said to heart because aba practices what he preaches and that’s not what nearly all of destinys orbit could say about themselves.

I remember when his divorce happen he refused to admit it that the poly life style and ingoring the red flags from Mel destoyed the marriage. Instead he made video after video trying to blame everyone and everything else, yet the whole time he didn't look sad about the divorce. My favorite moment was when Brett Cooper made a video on it and he dismissed her because she was in her early 20s saying she was to young to understand real relationships. Yet he first hooked up with mel when she was 19. Hypocrite

Weird lie but okay, I'm a big Mel fan as much as I am of Destiny, so I've seen her talk about it on streams and debates. He's stated many times he's put his work above the marriage every time. They both wanted an open relationship from the start, not just Destiny. Why do you think Mel was happy to leave her "monogamous" relationship with her ex so quickly? she hates it. Destiny truly didn't care as much about the divorce as his haters think he does. His mentality of "if you want to leave a rich lifestyle for a poor one is no loss for me" has been valid throughout the relationship. They lasted 3 years which is as long as any normal relationship. Destiny was okay with having no relationship at all at the start of the relationship, this was during the Destiny cheating on Mel storyline. They got married to have less complicated VISAs, which turned out to still be as complicated.

The fact that he's memeing and making jokes throughout this is just incredibly disappointing and shows he has no remorse or desire to change his toxic ways in how he treats the women he engages in sexual relationships with. I hope the women he hurt and exploited get their justice and he, finally, is held accountable for his past actions.
