What If A Nuclear Bomb Hits New York Tomorrow
► Subscribe: goo.gl/r5jd1F
The famous Doomsday clock shows 100 seconds before the Apocalypse. And it won’t happen because of some higher power but upon the initiative of a human being. We’ve never come so close to the edge of the abyss - nuclear war. One more step and the history of mankind is over. And unfortunately, current world problems, personal ambitions of some politicians, and a lack of desire to seek compromises between governments can make this last fatal step real. And then, the Earth will face the third world nuclear war, in which there will be no winners.
Imagine that someone pressed the red button and nuclear missiles got in the air. We will show you that humanity would stand no chance.

I almost live like that now. I go weeks without seeing humans. Sometimes a few months. I know civilization is falling apart outside my very rural location. It really does not effect me very much. One really does not need companionship to live a healthy, productive, very active life. But, in a bunker, it is hard to be active at all. I do not live in a bunker. But I do live in a nearly self contained environment where I grow my own food, keep a large fuel cache, and I am extremely self reliant. I work four nights a week. That is about the only time I leave my home, and to restock fuel and medical supplies. I even rearm my rifle shells and some of my bullets. I make a lot of my own medicine from herbs. Contrary to popular indoctrination, one can live completely alone and self sufficient with very little difficulty. If I can do it like this, I can do it in a bunker as well. I would miss the night sky and the wind, that is about it.

I've never been this concerned about nuclear war since I was a 10-year-old boy living 25 miles from N.Y.C. in 1962. During that time in October 1962, I would constantly look out of my back-yard window towards N.Y.C. waiting for the great flash of light of a 9-megaton hydrogen bomb. My ten-year-old brain told me that if I could see the bright flash of light, I would have enough time to gather my little brother and mom and dad and direct them down into our basement cellar where we could duck and cover. Little did I know what the power of a nuke could do. I have never felt this close to a nuclear war, not even when President Ronald Reagan left the summit table and walked out of peace talks in the 1980s. Today, I'm concerned more about the future of my adult kids and grandchild than for my own life. I pray to God every day that we don't have war. Even an accidental launch toward NYC or Washington D.C. will mean the end of civilization as we know it. JMHO as a boy who grew up during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

In other words, our own country will not even tell us about the launches. Politicians will simply scurry their coward little asses off to their little bunkers and let the rest of us perish. There won't be time to tell people. It takes about half an hour for a missile to from there to here, same thing going back the other way. Submarine launched missiles take much less time. Detection will happen fairly quickly, then verification and analysis of the strike. First communications will go to the president and the military to get our retaliatory strike on its way. The president and as many of those in direct line of succession will be whisked away as quickly as possible but that will also slow down information getting out. Maybe they have a way at the federal level to take over cell phones and send an emergency alert, but what do you tell people? A quarter of the population is about to be vaporized and the rest are going to die of wounds, radiation sickness, starvation, and disease. I think I'd rather have one last half hour of sleep.

It's a psychological thing. If one side has more nuclear weapons that the other side then the side with less feels threatened. Parity has a calming effect and it makes both sides feel more safe and comfortable with the situation. Its like in a schoolyard. If you're the biggest bully in the yard or at least the same size as the other largest bully then you are safe. But if you are a smaller runt then you are in danger of being dominated and overwhelmed by the bigger ones, which will be a very scary situation for you.

It would take a lot less then that. 10 or less we would be whipped out. Water would be contaminated crops would not grow people would either starve to death or die of the radiation. In the summer of 2005 I just came out from being homeless and I had a dream that I was in midtown and it was hit by a nuke. I didn’t even know what a nuke was back then, I just heard a loud explosion from inside a office building and we all rushed downstairs like we were in the twin towers, and when we got outside we saw a large black cloud from a distance and ran the other way but it caught up to us in no time and crushed us with heat debris, and pain. I shot up out of my sleep and couldn’t go back to sleep for the rest of the night at 3am. It left an impression on my mind for the rest of the week.

Totally sucks for the New York citizens. Everyone i met from NY were cool guys that i had a priveledge to serve alongside. Even was impressed by a LT. from NYC. Squad leader, brothers all through my enlistment, innocent civilians paying the price for horrible government.

@@wellarmedwife166 we don't know where they are located bc it's secret and they have underground farms and inside greenhouse that produce vegetation so they don't have to come out of the ground. They get water from underground and they are the ones who's been stocking up on all the bottled water . A nuclear bomb will kill us all so I doubt if we'll last that long to even search and find out where they are ,🤷🏽‍♀️

I feel like this is the problem with so many of the last (mine included) generations of Americans. Sure, we've had foreign wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, and I have tremendous respect for the men & women whom fought in those conflicts because they fully understand what its like when war rolls through villages & towns selling death & destruction. However the vast majority of us have known nothing but peace at home and have been EXTREMELY spoiled. We have never starved or seen our friends and family dying around us as a result of bombs shelling our cities or bullets flying through our windows & walls. It saddens me to say it, but unfortunately this is what it will take before America (if ever) returns to the country it can be. We're spoiled. We've known nothing but excess and surplus.

In 1974, at age 13, I would hear and listen to Vietnam stories from our soldiers who had just returned from Hamburger Hill. It wasn't pretty. Their stories were stark, gross, and emotionally un nerving. Each soldier had a different reaction that shattered his world. PTSD was off the charts. The main anti war chants at the time were STOP THE DRAFT! & NO NUKES!

In the Twentieth Century, both world wars were a tremendous boost to the economy. No German or Japanese bombs hit the Continental United States. It's not the Twentieth Century anymore.

I agree with you. The Western world as a whole takes too much for granted - I’ve always been fascinated how they treat ideas like liberty and democracy. As a default setting, not worth defending. It’s super strange for someone that doesn’t come from that background. Someone said that civilizations climb in iron boots and descent in silk slippers. What is worse, in my view, is that a lot of them live in Narnia with very limited knowledge about the real world and how many people, other than them, think.

Seriously, sounds a little too familiar with the Fallout games…. And who’s allowed in these underground “vaults?” Scientists, politicians, lawyers, doctors, etc, those supposedly needed to carry on after…. 🫣 Nah, I’ll stay above ground, rather become a ghoul or perish completely in the blast, humanity will be at its most barbaric, separated and every man, woman and child for themselves

@@lisaduran9046 There are actually some big problems with the bunker strategy. For one thing, the prospective inmates of the bunkers might prefer to stay with their spouses and children rather than reporting for duty. For another, life underground might quickly become unbearable and claustrophobic. Finally, when the bunker people finally emerge from their holes, they may find the surviving stay-behinds firmly in control of the streets and the food supply.

Do you know how deep you need to be under ground to avoid fallout, only billionaires can afford to build a decent enough structure deep enough under the ground to keep them safe as well as to have all the space and storage etc, your average person may dig a hole in the ground to survive a certain amount of bombardment not a nuke. @@Phil.Leotardo
