Will try and manipulate women with more maternity leave, better healthcare for new mothers, and a paycheck just to have a child. Stuff like that. 5. Here's my take on the sister with the braids towards the middle: 1st and foremost, even though the 4B movement itself is new, there is no doubt in my mind that women throughout history have been fighting against the patriarchy and trying to find ways to revoke men's access to them all over the world. The concept of women trying to separate themselves from the patriarchy and men's entitlement towards women is not some new fangled 21st century idea. And as far as men's reactions to the 4B movement not being "pleasant". . .IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE!! Can anyone think of ANY point in history where the oppressed ONLY retaliated and ONLY took a stand when it was convenient for the oppressors and the latter was like "Oh, okay, I gotchu, we'll back off, our bad"?? If my ancestors only fought back against slavery because they thought that the slave masters were going to be cool with it, there would have been nothing to fight back against. And we don't need majority of women to be onboard for this for it to take effect; not all men are toxic, misogynistic, A-holes who hate women, but it doesn't HAVE to be "all men", it just has to be *enough* of them doing the worse that they can for it to do damage. It's the same with the 4B movement; it doesn't have to be ALL women participating in it, it just has to be *enough* of us participating for it to take effect. I think where people keep getting this movement messed up is that they think it's meant to be women holding their breath until men start doing right by them, and maybe for some women that IS the desired end result. But in the grand scheme of things this isn't about negotiation or bargaining with men, this is women around the world basically "quiet quitting" a system that was never meant to serve us in the first place. This is about women around the world finally being able to see that a lot of us are/were playing a game that's been rigged for us to lose from the start. And men aren't going to "just start" retaliating physically, again, that has ALWAYS been their move as long as the patriarchy has been around. But I definitely encourage more women to do what they need to do to protect themselves as necessary.

It’s time for a modern platonic update to Boston Cousins. I already know a handful of single women (who still date men) who are doing exactly that. 💯 You don’t need a man to have children or care for you and/or your kids if you have a supportive community of loving women in your corner. If it was just western/American hype, then why are my feeds getting multiple, for months, videos on the birth rate declines in not only China, Japan, and S Korea, but also it's been like a decade in my mind's eye with European birth rates declining. I think Italy is freaking out rn. And the US has been declining too. It's worldwide. Even before the 4B being an internet talking point, women were already sticking to their guns with one kid or no kids. Obviously there's always gonna be an Octo Mom out here and there. @@worldadventuretravel yeah capitalism is a big part. But women are opting out. Get ready for it to be a worldwide lysistrata lol. Many are sick of being treated the way they are, of being married single mothers, of being cheated on, abuse, lack of legal protections concerning becoming pregnant and their careers, etc etc. Money is a big factor but acting like the social effects of being a woman, having a uterus, having ever experienced social punishment for pregnancy, *you're out of your gourd. You have the smoothest brain.* I'll never forget the whole "pre-existing conditions" bull that basically deemed every uterus owner as having a pre-existing condition for being born with a uterus. That crud got canned but I actually fully expect it to come back in full swing in the USA. We're opting out of the social punishment, too. It's not just capitalism.

We have to stop telling Koreans that they knew about the 4B movement if they did not know about it until TikTok. The girl bringing up all the articles wouldn't have known about how many articles there were about it until she looked it up. If majority of Korean women still desire marriage and children with men then it is possible that they didn't know or know very little about the movement unless it is thrown in their faces on the daily. They are not saying that the movement does not exist. They are simply saying that they only found out about it on TikTok. The only thing i disagree with that the Korean lady said was that it was formed based on misogyny. If you did not start the movement, how do you know why it was started?

And no one said all women are doing 4b. The point is some women are doing it. Trying to discount 4b by saying all Korean women don’t participate is silly. Many things contribute to the low birth rate in Korea. Mysogyny (sexual harassment happens often). Competition. It’s a highly competitive job market. Those that work for one of the chaebols (an example of a chaebol is Samsung)make hundreds of thousands more over a lifetime of those not working for one. Koreans go into thousands of dollars worth of debt to not “look poor” as it’s also an important thing to present as successful. They are caught on a hamster wheel. Sexual violence against women is rampant. Women are expected to give up their careers to be housewives. There are a plethora of reasons for a low birth rate. 4b is a response.. one response to cultural factors driving a low birth rate. Not the cause of the low birth rate. I wish ppl did research and read before they dismiss things.

It's mainly because it's expensive. No she is not married, but she would like to get married. She assured me that she is not one of those women, but she said that it's good that it's starting a conversation. I believe that in most places around the world birth rates are going down and it's not just because of women saying enough is enough, but every where their economy is dreadful, so it's not the time to have children etc. If they want us to procreate then they need to make it worth our while. We need better amount of time off, better child care etc. I do have to say that the government needs to rethink how they treat women, but there is this feeling that since governments are mainly men they will just come up with a way to force women depending on the country.

Men are unaliving women and attacking women they perceive as feminists. So a lot of women do not admit openly they are feminists. The 4b ladies were unapologetically open about their stance. So we have to look at the culture and climate of Korea. But women there know about it. The documentary was hosted by a Korean American woman who spoke fluent Korean and the Korean women she interviewed were proponents and participants in 4b. She also spoke with Korean government officials (policy makers), sociologists, professors etc who all gave their take on the 4b movement. Government officials have addressed the low birth rate.
