I need to try the Mwc….P and S Brake Buster gets sooo much hype-I had pretty grimy wheels to clean, but I literally used an entire 16 oz bottle on 4 wheels-and it left a residue…it just didn’t hold up to my expectations at all-love Koch Chemie..excited to try this

Love, love your videos Josh!! Working on a 10 year old Audi SQ5 that pretty much has been neglected over the last 5 years. Ive been working on my wheels for 2 days and still not finished!! Have used DIY products including iron remover, all clean, and incredible suds. It's working, but I was impressed of your review on the Koch Chemie Magic Wheel Cleaner.... will give it a try, what the heck.

Thanks for the vid Josh. Simpler for me to buy a gallon of brake buster, spray whole wheel and tire, agitate and rinse. Only $30 for a gallon and dilutes also. I am a fan of Koch chemie tho. Especially their motorplast. I need to get a barrel blade thanks for showing it.

Think it's important to note that a dedicated wheel cleaner, which is one of the more expensive products, isn't necessary for a maintenance wash. If you're a beginner reading this, soap and water works just fine unless you have caked on brake dust. You can spray an iron remover once ever 6 months or so to prevent any build up, but it's not necessary for every wash. If you have black high gloss rims and don't want them to get as scratched, first off god bless your soul, but doing a pre soak and rinse with a strong degreaser like Green Star will go a long way

@@jseels for consumers, Meguiar's All Wheel Cleaner, Griot's Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner and Adam's Wheel Cleaner don't have that powerful, skunky smell. Adam's Wheel Cleaner you need to be extra careful with though. Even after checking to make sure my wheels/brakes passed the "cool to the touch" test, it stripped the paint off of 2/4 of my calipers

Thanks for this. I've followed your videos, but the 19" gloss black wheels on my CX-5 are a nightmare. An EZ Detail Brush reached the barrel nicely, but left micro-scratches on my brand new wheels. Great video! I watched another video were they advocated to use iron remover after the wheel cleaner because then it is only attacking the iron that is underneath the dirt and thus more effective. What do you think? They mentioned that in the advertising videos all that purple color was actually coming from the dirt and not the embedded iron.

I bought one of the Barrel Blade not long ago and had the opportunity to use it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Did a great job, too! I may have the one vehicle that it still can't get behind the brake caliper, though. I own a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and it has big, Brembo brakes on it. The Barrel Blade works great on the rear wheels; it clears the brake calipers just fine. The front, however, is still very tough for me. There's just one part that I can't get the blade to slide under completely. So, I still need to move the vehicle a few inches forwards or backwards to get at that particular section. Minor inconvenience to say the least. I did like the finish that the tire dressing left on your vehicle (nice ride, btw!), so I think I'll be grabbing a bottle of that to try out. As always, great video and thanks for sharing!

When I’m working on a mobile job I don’t. Speed is important so I never take the extra time to get a stool. I probably should though, it’s much more comfortable

One word of caution when it comes to using caustic wheel cleaners that a lot of DIY'er's at home don't realize. If you wax or use a sealant on your rims, you might want to think twice about using those heavy hitter wheel cleaning products. While most work well, many are very high on the PH scale, some as high as a PH 13.5 to 14 which is very alkaline and will most likely strip off any form of protection you have, or more appropriately said "HAD" on your wheels because they may strip off any form of protection you have on your rims. For the rim face of wheels that have heavy contamination, I use P21S Wheel Cleaner or their Wheel Cleaner Gel which is PH controlled (maybe as high as a 9.5 so it's on the more moderate alkaline scale) which will be much less likely to strip off any wax or sealant you have on your rims. On well maintained wheels (meaning a waxed, sealed, or ceramic coated rims), that are cleaned weekly or bi-weekly, believe it or not I use Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel Cleaning Gel Concentrate which is PH NEUTRAL and a soap based formula which they describe as oxygen infused whatever that is. It is a very safe wheel cleaner that won't strip off your wax or sealant. Now it's not going to get heavy dirt and grime off of a wheel. It just won't do that. Anytime you see products with the words ACTIVE, it usually means that it's either a HIGH (Alkaline) or LOW (Acidic) product, wheel cleaner or soap. Again, the caustic cleaners work great in those situations when you have a trashed wheel, but not necessary at all when you have a well maintained wheel. I was using them all the time not realizing that many will strip off your protection. A lot of the iron removers are great wheel cleaners and most of those are PH balanced and perfectly safe, other than 90% of them smell horrible like rotten eggs. I just hate dealing with that smell. Diablo doesn't have a bad smell, it smells like a soap, although it won't tackle the heavy contamination like an Iron Remover will.

If you had to only go with one chemical manufacturer, who would it be?

Grande Josh, bellissimo viedo, spiegato tutto benissimo, anche se visto con i sottotitoli in Italiano. Sei davvero BRAVO e preso bene. PECCATO che Autofibre non è distribuito in Italia. Grazie

Seeing how much dressing makes it onto the tread tells me you probably don’t hit corners even remotely fast 🤣 Not a bad thing, it’s good to be safe, but dressing on treads is bad for cornering. Solid video still though and thank you!

Thoughts on product to clean TESLA black fan wheels?
@imjoshv
@imjoshv 2 жыл бұрын
Good question.. the plastic cover portion right? I would be careful since it’s plastic and test a small area and make sure it doesn’t dry on it. I do a lot of teslas but typically skip the wheel cleaner and go straight to foaming soap and agitation

I like the channel and video, but that soap was long gone by the time you did the wheel face with the brush

Yea the foam was, but it still leaves lubrication behind along with what is carried in the brush.
