So I've got this Kraken and now that I have an airbrush I'm ready to tackle it! Thank you for your videos! This is the 2nd Box of Shame video that I've seen. Just before Christmas I watched your T-Rex video very closely to help me paint the Nolzur T-Rex for my son. It turned out great! I really like what you've done on the Kraken, too, so I'll be referring to it some very soon. Thanks!

That's awesome Ron and congratz on getting an airbrush! Learn it well. I remember myself being somewhat afraid in the beginning but step by step I started knowing it more and it is an awesome tool to have! Thanks for this nice comment also! :D

Hi! I have the same model and never got to paint it. I really like what you did with it. It's inspiring! By the way, do you know how many tickeling you need to tickle an octopus? Ten...tacles! And how to tell if an octopus is male or female? You need to test...ticule!

Interesting colour choices on the Kraken but it works well. I liked the wood work on the wreck as well. The Kraken is one of the Reaper Miniatures I've been on the fence about getting. Mainly with the worry of long terms Bones droop. Had a similiar problem with the Pegasus Nautilus and the squid base it sit on.

Thanks! The color choices were very much based on the artwork - well what I remember once I tossed it to the side tbh... 😂 Oh REALLY!? Because of the tentacles and the PVC plastic?

How do you like Reaper minis vs Nolzur’s?

Wow that's a tough one. I wish I could say Games Workshop! 😂 The truth of the matter is that I think it's a tough question for me, both brands have their strengths and flaws in my opinion both aesthetically and product-wise. I have actually had this very conversation recently and for me I like both brands, they both give me what I need but here are some pro's and con's the way I see it: Reaper + Are often cheap, especially the larger one pound-for-pound. + Often have some miniatures that one can use for minis which have yet to be released from Wizkids (as the official partner for D&D). + Have some designs which are more old-school and cool imho. - Mold line, especially the first and second bones line. - Very varying sculpt/model quality. Wizkids + The official D&D mini makers which means that you get what's in the Monster Manual. + Have a good quality and details. + Comes pre-primed buuuuuuuut.... - Usually have mold lines, which are primed which sort of forces you to prime again. So the conclusion for me is that both have their strengths and weaknesses. Looking at Games Workshop I think they are excellent in both style, execution and quality but alas not a good good for D&D. Hope this sheds some lights.

Could I prime the whole thing black and white then paint it
@DevsDice4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I could do that at least! I used Army Painter and Citadel primers and they worked for me! Clean the model first though! :)
