I recently purchased this mower after my gas turo got burnt out! I really had a mix feeling getting it but after cutting my grass 2 times in the last 3 weeks I really love it ! The grass is nicely cut and it bags really great! I highly recommend it!

Thanks for the video. I just got home from Home Depot w this mower. The instructions were all pictures and numbers so I immediately looked for a youtube video. This was very helpful and I’ll be ready to mow in the morning after charging the batteries. If all works out great it seems to be light and powerful enough for my wife to use 😂. Once again thank you.

That side discharge is a great feature. Using straps i currently have my mower (gas powered)discharge cover up and angled downwards. This allows me to cut through high difficult grass.

10:10 “one thing that I think is a big Advantage when it comes to electric mowers …self-propelled mode is always on” That’s only the case for the RWD mowers. The 2nd gen FWD version’s self-propelled mechanism is tied to the blade shaft.

I bought mine new in March of this year & didn't need it (snow) until late April. I've "tried" using it 3 times and it doesn't work very well. The first time the batteries went dead after 25 minutes. The 2nd time was May 5th, and the batteries went dead after about 20 minutes. Today it only lasted 12 minutes and the batteries went dead. When I stop the mower to pick up sticks it fails to start again and I have to recharge the batteries. I suppose I'm out my $600. Lesson learned...try before you buy.

I have the first version of this and it looks as though the new one has the same problem mines has. Its a great mower but the grass collection box is angled high at the back so the box only gets to half full and the grass falls back down to the chute. I end up pushing all the grass to the back then going another few minutes then empty the box.

I bought one and love it so far. I'm not the biggest fan of their auto power adjusting. Wish there was a work around so I could set the power level myself. I also interested to see if you can run it with only 1 blade and get higher power and longer run time?
@skippylippy5479 ай бұрын
Nice "quick look" Mike - thanks! 👍 I went from gas power mower to corded electric to cordless self propelled over the years. I enjoy using my Ryobi self-propelled battery operated lawn mower and edger, trimmer, and snow blower. I doubt I'll ever go back to gas engine lawn tools. Quiet, convenient, lightweight is great for this old man.
@ProjectsForAllReviews9 ай бұрын
Thanks Skippy! I actually might have went back to a gas Toro, had 2 over 20 years and loved both. Makes more sense for me to Jump into a new battery platform. Makita was my second choice, if they had new models I would have went that route. I jumped two feet into Ryobi’s 40v yard tools a few years before starting KZbin. The small tools work great, blower, hedge trimmer, weed wacker but was disappointed with the snowblower and mower. Looks like they’ve made a lot of improvements last few years. Thanks for watching!
@stanprunty41419 ай бұрын
Nothing with problems just took back 3rd one on the 40volt weedwacker they last 1/2 hr which is fine I like the easy start and power but they start to smell and burn out they replace for free but only getting about 4 hrs out of them before they smoke ryobr fuck the planet going back to gas
@marusholilac7 ай бұрын
I watched your mowing demo video also. I like to hose off my gas mower and get all the wet grass off the deck to cut down the cricket habitat in my garage. I wonder how you clean an electric mower. I could probably download the manual (sic) and read it, but you've had it a while now (June '24), so I'd be interested in how you and other viewers deal with this.
@dusty2659 ай бұрын
It does look nice, personally those batteries would scare me, just the thought of replacing one if you cooked it somehow. I think for me its a novelty as the Tractor is my way of cutting, but there is that around the house and stuff, don't know if I could justify it for the price! but as always great video and keep them coming, thanks
@wildbill23c9 ай бұрын
The price on the battery powered stuff is what keeps me from switching. Even the gas stuff is ridiculously overpriced anymore too. I have 3/4 of an acre that I mow, and most of it I was doing with my lawn tractor until my grandfather passed away and the family came in and started taking stuff....then I found out my uncle's lawn tractor wasn't operational once again for the 7th time in the past year so I said hey just take my lawn tractor rather than messing with yours again....so, now I'm trying to decide if I want to buy another lawn tractor, or just deal with having to put the mower deck on my sub-compact tractor for a few weeks this year until it gets warm and the grass dies off LOL.
@ProjectsForAllReviews9 ай бұрын
They scare me too which is why I never did yard work with my M18 batteries. Thing is now it’s my job to try and get this stuff to fail. Honestly I wish my yard was a little bigger so I could justify a tractor. Thanks for watching Dusty!
@dusty2659 ай бұрын
@@ProjectsForAllReviews that's true, now you get to see what it takes and if it will fail, I can't tell you how many times we would just cook batteries trying to get screws in, Did not matter if it was Dewalt or Milwaukee. Have to love a crew of tinners we could test to failure anything. lol

Just bought this 2 days ago. Tried it out yesterday. I have a blue grass weed in the backyard that takes about 3 passes to cut. Regular grass seems to cut pretty well with a single pass (I have Bermuda grass). I think sharpening the blades a little more will help. Going to do that before the next cut.
@ProjectsForAllReviews8 ай бұрын

@@ProjectsForAllReviews it was much easier this week. Now that most of that bluegrass weed has died off, I can say this mower does a good job on my lawn.

Do you know if you're able to use 20V 4AH batteries instead of the 10AH?
@fixmehanicar9 ай бұрын
It make sence to have it when you also have DeWalt weed wacker. I wonder how it would work with 20/60V that goes in weed wacker?
@ProjectsForAllReviews9 ай бұрын

@wildbill23c9 ай бұрын
I wonder if the flexvolt batteries would work in it as well. I no longer have the 20V stuff, I just have a 60v chainsaw and the 60v weed wacker. Got rid of all my Dewalt stuff except for the 60V tools for the yard. The weed wacker I have accepts attachments which is the only reason I got it. The chainsaw is nice for quick limb trimming around the house.
@patrickarseneault74078 ай бұрын
i only wished dewalt would take a hint and instead of putting 2 single chargers put 1 dual slot . would be way better for conveniance and less wires to plug

When I saw Craftsman, Kobalt, and Ego battery powered mowers in the local Big Box, I did some figurin' and the run times for all of them were far less than how long it takes me to mow my grass. I'd have to either stop and wait for the batteries to charge or buy additional batteries and swap 'em out. Dewalt 20v 10 Ah batteries cost $260 each in my neck of the woods so the Dewalt and extra batteries to cut my lawn in one go is more than $1,000. OUCH! No thanks. Not to mention I handle lawn equipment like a 1,000 lb gorilla. I'd probably break that handle the first time I used it. Thanks for the review, though. 🙂
