Just a basic guide on this saw that was not working but just needed a new cord, brushes and oil in the gearbox to bring it back to life. DeWalt #DWS535

Mr Maximus, This is a very helpful video about the DeWalt worm drive saw. A link to the earlier video about the B&D saws would have also been helpful.

Great video. Great saw. I love my worm drive Skilsaew. Its older than me and took two days of cleaning to get it running. It had been used for masonry work.

The old worm drives are worthy of restoration with time and patience. I doubt the newer saws will have the long term durability.

I bought the Makita 36v mag saw, it stalled out while cutting a treated 2x12 multiple times. It had been drying for a week and a half, still a lil' wet. Disappointing

✌️ I would use that saw to cut rebar with. I still have my skil saw 77 And I keep it in good shape since it was a 1992 design. And it will cut the hair off a fleas ass.

I thought skill was the only worm drive

Milwaukee, Black and Decker, Porter Cable were big makers of worm drive saws. There were also numerous other brands like Thor, Stanley and Mall. In more recent years several Japanese brands produced them as well.

@@rightlanehog3151 just thought they were rear handled circular saws, not worm drive

@@danthechippie4439 I believe the Makita is called a hypoid gear saw but the others are worm drive.
