Yea, this is pretty much the best time to work overtime and make sure you get people to stick around for as long as possible, but it's also important that the content won't feel empty. Like just adding a new map with a boss that is a bit different but the same wouldn't really do the trick anymore. A slight issue I see is that potions already take things really far, and it's hard to give the player more at this point, so all in all it will be a bit of a tough task, BUT hey, why not take a great feature? -Limit break. Add minor stats to weapons once you got everything maxed out. -Add a feature that allows you to combine equipment -Add a feature that allows you to slightly improve equipment -Definitely more weapons and characters either way -This may be crazy, but what about combining weapons and creating something that has features of both sides? And then you can lvl 1-10 that union weapon again. So for example, the Lightning Strike combined with the Arcane Splinter would create Arcane Splinter where it strikes. But if that happens and limit break is in, then you really need to get a lot more XP compared to right now, else limit break will barely come into effect, even here where I used all banish potions (since the union will be another 10 lvl ups)

While fooling around with Phantom Needles, I found out that in this game exists stacking crit mechanic - unfortunately not double-dipping like it does in Warframe (there are tiers of hits: white normal hits, yellow crits, orange crits and red crits. Yellow crits multiply white damage numbers, orange crits multiply yellow crit damage and red crits multiply orange crit damage numbers - so it's somewhat easy to reach millions in red damage numbers =) ) In my explanation how it works in HoT, for simplicity I'll use simple numbers. Let's say our non-crit damage is 200, normal crit hits deal 500 damage (so 150% crit damage), and we have 120% crit chance. We have 100% chance to deal 500 damage with normal crits, and 20% chance to deal 800 damage with double-crits. So here's my recommendation for next video: Needle-splitting hedgehog build that focuses on crit a whole ton, so: - double the effects of all "+1 critical chance multiplier" options (total of +6 crit chance multiplier, it gets us over 300% crit chance); - pick 1-2 "+6 base damage" nodes (stronger than % damage nodes, as we have +100% damage already from other sources. Also there's an extra 30% if using swordsman); - take all "+0.2 base critical damage modifier" nodes, but base damage takes priority for first 2 picks (I have yet to math out what will be the best unfortunately) - fill the rest with attack speed Also for the equipment: - projectile gloves (more attack speed for needles), - attack speed on kill helmet, -crit chance ring, -crit damage ring, -standing still armour, -jade amulet (since level ups are so much stronger than anything else (not sure if worth at ~200 achievements though!), if luckily a damage amulet drops then swap after lvl 70-80), - whatever boots Stage 1 or 2 will be the best for showcase, as it's only one Trait anyway and in canals there is way too many blocking enemies - only strong AoE weapons can deal with them as they swarm you, and yes - shieldy bois can block even 4k damage hits and destroy projectile, which is pure bs. :( Enjoy Dex

@@AdamL_18 I think one place where Brotato massively fails compared to the other three is that there's no real 'progression'. You play a match for like 20-30 minutes and then die suddenly and you don't even get some points or anything to spend to make yourself slightly stronger at the start. In particular, the gear collecting in Halls of Torment makes it so that you don't feel bad about sinking hours of your life into the game. In Brotato it's just like "Woopsie, you died. Thanks for the 20 minutes of your life you'll never get back lol." Even 20 Minutes Till Dawn has a pretty extensive unlocking system. It's really sad though because out of all 4 games, Brotato to me, has the most enjoyable gameplay.

Those stars where the ones I first saw that I really enjoyed, the "duration" upgrade with the "attack speed" makes it so that when you stand still you can stack up stars on a spot, the "travel distance" is kind of detrimental, like your "balls" video where you kept saying "wouldn't it be cool to have all the balls on one point?" yes, that's exactly what the stars do when you upgrade amount, duration and speed, this weapon doesn't have a cap on the number of stars you can have on screen (at least I don't think so). So, I would not do the "travel" ticket upgrade, just the splitter, you end up with a wall of impenetrable DPS stars that kill stuff way before they can get close to you. You might also want to disregard distance and cone since you want the stars to be as packed together as possible, they scatter far enough from the start. EDIT: try it with Warlock since he needs "duration" anyway, it buffs the stars because I think they count as a summon.

Hey dex, im sorry for stupid questions, but i cant find the answere anywhere! can you explain how the weapon upgrades work? for example, i know that at Rank 3 of any weapon, you can get the upgrade from a golden ticket. but at what rank can you get the second upgrade from a golden ticket? and how do i know wich upgrade unlocks what? is there a list for that somewhere?. The first is 3, the second is 6. And for what it unlocks I am not 100% sure what you mean, it does what the description reads, so when you go back to the lvl 3 upgrade in the video, I just read out both cases. Und Danke/Thank you!

Long story short, what you would need to do is: 0. Look up the list of upgrades that are available per level of the weapon, and determine which ones you want. It can be up to two per level. 1. Remove the upgrades you don't care about, such as Regeneration (weak). 2. If there are multiple upgrades you want from a single level of the weapon, wait for both to appear on the same level up screen, save one and get the other. Then on the following level up, pick the one you locked. DO NOT PICK THE NEXT LEVEL IF OFFERED UNTIL YOU PICKED THE LOCKED ONE. 3. If there is a specific skill you want a lot of, use the double potion instead of a regular click. 4. When the level of the weapon is at least 3, pick up the yellow ticket to get its upgrade. Repeat for when the level is at least level 6. You should only pick up a maximum of two tickets total (for both upgrades on a weapon).

@@mariuszel759 It's possible. As you saw in the video, a lot of levels were wasted getting gold instead of upgrades on weapons. Keep in mind, you have a limited number of exp you can get, potions you can use, and you have more options to choose from (so the chances of getting what you want are reduced).

On the final level up, I could have used 2 potions to also lock attack speed over a past range upgrade I took. But at that time I thought the potion does what it reads, only locking what you choose until the next level up, but it apparently keeps it forever in there until you pick it (maybe it gets rerolled if you use the reroll potion, not sure about that part). So yes, you can lock more than just 2, but most weapons wouldn't need that as they rarely have a level up where you want 3 things.

Also it's best to know how to use the abilities. Arcane splinters always comes out vertically up and down from your character, so rounding up tons of enemies above and below them and then letting them off you can attack into the swaths and wipe them away effortlessly. The big spinning gears come out left and right, you want to gather enemies at your sides to rip and tear through them repeatedly. The orbs are incredible at tearing through enemies all around you. Simply move into the crowds and wipe them out Radiant aura makes it harder for enemies to stay close to you without dying from the light. Lightning does good AOE while causes slow effect which makes the mobs easier to kill and dodge It goes on and on with all of them. I truly love them all.

This makes Arcane Splitters great combination with spinning saw thingies - one for covering north-south directions, and the other for east-west.

@@Neriehem exactly. I always get both if I can. It never fails me. U always want them weakening enemies in all directions so you don't get so easily surrounded and swarmed. And they go a long way towards that. Add in the spinning orbs and it becomes hard for enemies to get close to you. Those orbs also spin around you faster according to your movement speed. So if you put lot of level into movements speed your spinning orbs start to rotate real fast around you. After I get high enough level and raise my weapon damage and level my abilities, I can start to stand in one place and let the enemies surround me. I just spin in a circle as swordsman and keep swinging my sword, as my abilities pop out over and over again. The enemies get melted away as they try to get close to me.

I found out about how broken this item really was when I use shield maiden as my hero. The damage from the splinters going out + shield bash just wipe out half of the screen. I use radiant, balls, and splinters, and just stand beside the well to wait for item drops (bosses lol) to come for me.

I agree that arcane splinters is awesome, its just that it takes comparatively more than with most other weapons. I tried this with lock, went for full atk speed with the necro gauntlets and once I added both upgrades it became a real chonky beast. But again, for the time it took, I could have gone for a ball run or a basic lock run for a much more enjoyable run, personally at least.

Did you know you can stack infinite Damage on your Damage table when standing next to those ghost guardians, that slowly walk towards the middle in the last 5 mins? You still get the Damage Calculation, although the ghosts don't die. This instantly unlocks your "Mastery III Quest" for every Ability and looks ridiculous in the End Screen. An Exploit that does nothing really:D :D Maby a fun little showcase for a Video :)

what i like to do is making DoT a thing...with Exterminator. Using the lightning ring makes the flamethrower deal fire AND lightning damage. Stacking burn and electrify does wonders! im only doing it with just the main weapon and no other weapons. I run out of upgrades really quick cause i dont get good other unlocks via skills...but its fine, the DoT melts EVERYTHING

That's not how it works ^^ there is no infinite range upgrade, what the upgrade means is that they keep moving until duration expires. More range means you still shoot them out further and cover a larger area due to that

The only gripe i have with games like this is these meta upgrades that cost gold and apply to all chars. It essentially implies you have to grind meaningless runs to earn gold to actually get strong enough to be able to complete a run. For example, reset everything and see how well you do then. Luckily it's a single player game and skipping that useless 10h grind is possible quite easily at which point for me the fun/skill based gameplay begins. Of course most people love that type of meaningless grind so I would understand if nobody agrees. Brotato doesn't have it and feels more skill based for it, which is kind of what I'm basing my opinion on right now, btw.

I dont exactly understand this view point - and I am not going against you, I am talking about view points/opinions - because imagine every game would do the same thing, it would be insanely boring. Vampire Survivors started off the horde survival trend and there you have permanent upgrade. The purpose is that you grow stronger over time the more you play, similar - or pretty exactly - to a lot of common game genres, where you grind up gear to become stronger. If you think about it, the parmenent upgrades are no different from finding equipment in RPGs/MMORPGs, where you go out and grind for them for a permanent upgrade. And I would say the costs are more than manageable where it doesn't take a long grind for those upgrades. Buying all equipment takes a lot of time, but then again a majority of the equipment is kinda useless and has rather niche cases where you want them for fun builds.

@@DexTag yes, you grow stronger the more you play, and my opinion is that that can be achieved in more fun ways than flat upgrades based on gold. For example, maps scale in difficulty and drop better loot to take with you. I don't know. In RPGs, as you referenced, where you find better equipment and gain skill points, you tackle content appropriate for your level. e.g.: in wow classic, you are able to complete an instance with the crappy greens you find early on. In HoT (could be skill issue), I felt very weak and unable to complete the first level and thought I must suck at the game, until I unlocked the stuff that costs gold, at which point it was easy and turned out I was just missing gold from losing runs a lot. That's kind of lame to me :p. Why I compared it to Brotato is because I find it fun that it feels more skill based without those upgrades. I could not complete d5 at first, and because there was no meta progression, I knew I needed to get better and make smarter choices. Meh I am reasoning in circles and apparently cannot explain my thoughts on a phone :p. Also the fact that VS did it does not mean (to me) that every subsequent game should do it. In VS I also skipped the meta grind for the same reasons btw. Look at us nerds engaging in wall of texting, lol. Are we on reddit?

Just so everyone knows, if you take any weapon to the invulnerable ghost phalanx you can do massive damage with almost any weapon. I’ve reached over 60k DPS with the ring blades.

You can't say this is better then lightning strike O.o . If you go for speed and projectiles the whole screen is zaped constantly for stupid amounts of dmg. Compared to Lightning Strike this is rather boring nad realy small dmg. It's only 27 mil dmg at 22k killed enemys...meh.

I believe that the issue with freedom of speech within KZbin is kind of different… for example, all the channels that talk about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and what happens there daily, and all the channels who talk about the abuses committed by the Chinese government against their own people (including the Uyghur genocide) are ALWAYS DEMONETIZED, even when they talk in the most polite way ever, without showing any violence at all… which is a big problem especially for Ukrainian channels who want to raise awareness about the plight of their nation, because they are literally barred from making any money solely due to the topic they talk about. That pisses a lot of people off (rightfully so), especially because the YT channels like CNN, Fox, the BBC, etc are allowed to show all the violence and throw around all the curses that they want without ever facing any repercussions, yet small and even bigger content creators on YT are treated absolutely like shit compared to them. I can understand your argument, but this way of doing business hurts the way information is shared, and makes it extremely hard to exist for any information source that isn’t supported by huge financial capitals and political influence…

This depends on what precisely you target as the "evil" source. What I mean by that is: KZbin demonetizes these topics because of past bigger issues with advertisers running off of KZbin, due to some issues. Some others were restricted because people started uploading content about it for the sake of profit only. I think it's a similar topic as it is with copyright, where yes, KZbin has the system in place, but the way it's in place exists like that due to laws, not because they want to be mean. I wouldn't say it really hurts the information being shared, because you still see plenty of it and those channels that do it ask for Patreon support or similar, but I would say it does restrict it in an unknown way. Unknown, because imagine the possible amount of false information being shared at a time where a ton of people search for said content and now you can also profit off of it. And further unknown because you technically don't need to have multiple sources sharing the same information, a single one is enough. So in summary, is the entire system as a whole good? No. But would I blame this mostly on KZbin? No. Do I think KZbin has absolutely no say or goes too far? No. But I think it's less than what's being assumed.

I'd argue Lightning Strike and Golem are both horrible, though it depends whether you look at that on a scale where you compare all weapons with each other or just weapons on their own. But even then, Lightning strike was surprisingly bad, even the Aura did better for me (and there the issue was rather the flooding some ways have, splitting up the dmg too much)
