Ass to Grass is Bs - Dexter 2017 I always knew that was risky but to hear it from the Blade, that should be taken highly.
@shuvamoydas6223
@shuvamoydas6223 7 жыл бұрын
Samuela Marayawa Have you ever seen Dexter Jackson doing ass to grass squat? Dexter is a champion and a legendary bodybuilder but that doesn't mean he knows everything. Giving ass to grass squat bad name when you have hardly done them with proper technique is just simply wrong. Half or parallel squat is what does most damage to your knees than full squat. Anyway its upto you what you believe but i will say its not ass to grass that damage your knees but a lot of other stuff like bad form, poor mobility, lifting more weight than your body can handle.
@awkwardgecko2853
@awkwardgecko2853 7 жыл бұрын
Shuvamoy Das are you stupid ? The safest is parralel...i also squat ass to the grass but knees gettin fucked up and its not necessary...
@Imranayaaz

Ass to grass is damaging to knees and im taking that on board all the way from a 47 yr old ifbb pro who's been in the game the last bodybuilder standing king of longevity, take all the advice you can get from these guys we are very lucky to have youtube in this era
@sanjunumo
@sanjunumo 5 жыл бұрын
Shuvamoy Das are you freaking kindling me bro? You should know about ligaments more bro. The engagemant is increased along with the Range of Motion. Past the parallel, the engagement shifts from the Quadriceps to the other parts as well. Thus deep squats are more emphasised to engage other muscles like Glutes and hamstrings. Done well, parallel squats can be tougher than the deeper ones because it only engages a single musclegroup and it is almost an isolation. (Just like Leg Curl in comparison to Deadlift). And the joint feel more stress the more extensive the movement is. However Deep squats can be good in various other aspects as overall strength and also in excercising other muscles near Quads. The pain in the Knees is mostly because of the form. If you let your knees go forward. And the problaity increase the deeper you go. Thanks and Regards. Hope it helps.

Kai shows much respect and appreciation to other bodybuilders. I can only guess that He would probably act that way toward Phil Heath but Phil kinda likes to throw a little arrogance around sometimes and Kai was probably not relatin to that kinda vibe. Wow! This so hard to watch yet at the same fun to watch because I know all of these guys. Kai and I go back since he was 19 training at 5th Ave Gym in Bklyn, we later ran into each other in Jacksonville when I moved there. Lol, I would often rum into Dexter, we would talk for a good while, we were always cool with each other and he always encouraging! George Farah, Wow! we competed against each other as middle weights so we go back, gosh early 90s! Steve Weinburger, he was my NPC District Judge reppin NYC, so I've know Steve for years! I used to train at he and his wife the famous Bev Francis! At their gym in Long Island, but when it was Gold's Gym now it's Powerhouse. This was awesome to watch, this is what I miss the most being with my own peers!

Boy I really hope Kai has dealt with all the demons and has a year of straight focus and intensity to really challenge Phil this year. He's got to be able to become that killer on the stage and not the nice guy, because that won't beat Phil. Dexter, what can I say, he's the face of my generation of body builders. Sure you had Dorian, Ronnie, Jay, Phil, but when the fire is out and the smoke settles, Dexter is right there on stage usually in the top 3. Phil, Dorian, Jay, Ronnie (well maybe not Ronnie) all competed solely in the Olympia. But Dex, man Dex competed in EVERYTHING. To me he was the embodiment of Arnold in the sense that neither really had an off season, it was the way they lived, and their genetics allowed it. Anyway loved the vid, love Kai, love Dex, good luck to everybody this year in all the competitions, and here's to Kai's comeback!

I always thought Dexter Jackson had the best genetics for proportion and aesthetics. I also am of the opinion that he looked better than Ronnie even back in the day but perhaps because of his "smaller" stature he placed below Ronnie and co. The focus is back on aesthetics again.
