You mentioned the looks we get from being young and disabled with a placard and gosh, I can relate. I wanted to share a story that happened to me recently. My husband and I were in Boston enjoying ourselves and relaxing after I worked a couple 50+ hr weeks. My pain was really bad because of all the work. I parked in a disabled spot outside of a store and as we're getting back in the car, this lady pulls up beside us. I was taking a bit of time to start the car and pull out of the spot because my husband was helping me reach for my seatbelt and I had to move slowly so it wasn't excruciating. anyway, the woman has this nasty look on her face, and she's holding up her disabled placard and waving it at me. Mind you, there were several other disabled spots a bit further up. Before I can even react, my husband (who can look very scary when he wants to even though he's a giant teddy bear) grabbed my placard, pointed at me, and waved my placard back at this woman while giving her his best death glare. She sunk down in her chair and sped away in embarrassment. I've gotten tons of disapproving looks, and usually we just ignore them... But watching that woman eat crow was absolutely glorious.

Random anecdote but once in college I was riding the elevator up and a professor got into the elevator as well as a student and the student only went up one floor in the elevator. Once the student exited the elevator the professor made a snarky comment about how why couldn’t they use the stairs? I honestly felt really uncomfortable and said to him not all disabilities are visible and you have no idea what they’re going through they could have fibromyalgia or something like that that prevents them from walking up one flight of stairs and the professor looked a little shocked and was like Yep actually you’re totally right and my heart was beating so fast and I am totally not the type of person to speak up like this but I honestly felt it was important in the moment and this totally sounds like a story where I should say “and everybody clapped” at the end lol I totally know but I swear to God this happened Anyways all of this to say be kind to people!!!!!!

That is actually me. I have an invisible physical disability mainly centered around my right leg. I can walk fine with a slight limp but my balance is terrible so I have to rely on my left for more complicated movement if that makes sense. Stairs are sometimes an oof because I also have basically no feeling in my right foot. I can’t feel where I place my foot down essentially. When I do have to take the stairs I go slow and literally have to watch my feet as I walk. If there’s an elevator it helps, if not, I won’t complain. Either way, I do my best 👍🏻

I have chronic fatigue syndrome and used to not be able to get out of bed and needed to use a wheelchair when going out. I hated how people would stare at me because i was so young using a wheelchair. Because I was able to get up and out of the wheelchair for a short amount of time to do certain things like move a chair or go toilet lots of people thought I was faking it and didnt actually need it. People often made me feel embarrassed to needing it. I also realised how wheelchair-unfriendly most stores are in new zealand. Im doing a lot better now, most of the time I can go out without a wheelchair but just need lots of breaks and rest when im home. I can also sit upright for long periods of time. Im still struggling quite a lot with my CFS and endometriosis but I’m really proud of how far I have come. Ive had my CFS since I was 14 (Im 18 now) so you can imagine what kind of looks I got in my wheelchair, especially for moments where I had to stand up out of it.

I'm a disabled person although I'm not in a wheel chair, it always irks me when disabled characters in media are portrayed by attractive people. I've been in disability groups, most of us aren't conventionally good looking people. Me and some of my friends would probably not be considered socially or visually appealing. But that's okay. Also a lot of Dhar Mann videos are extraordinarily unrealistic. Most people I've encountered aren't like "gross you're disabled and beneath me" instead it's more like they down play it and tell you to not blame your disability on whatever or unintentionally judge you when making a compliment. As a chronically ill person who uses a wheelchair the shit I’ve had having a disability the stuff I’ve dealt with and the lack of support or facilities is terrible

6:11 As someone who has an eyebrow slit from my eyebrow being slashed open when I was a toddler and how the hair never grew back, I 100% agree lmao. If they’re a scar, that’s fine, but if you do it just because then like??? why???

i was crippled for a whole ass year bc my school sucked ass and built their stairs lazily asf٫ and i got made fun of a shit ton especially when i had to use a scooter٫ i hated having to use it sm already and id go to the br and ppl would be legit just steal the handicapped br right in front of me just to hog it and talk to their friends smh. theyd also laugh at me and say how stupid i look basically whenever they were reminded i use a scooter. i never understood why tho conaidering other kids w crutches were literally praised٫ but just cuz mine had wheels i look dumb? idk man it was annoying asf tho and ppl legit started to get mad at ME for still being crippled after months and months and gave "ok u can stop now" type vibes. like what💀💀

They really didn't need to make the man have a wheelchair backstory instead of.. i don't know, him simply standing up against the bully?? But nooo, dhar manns videos "change lives".. Yeah, by fucking breaking their characters legs

I'm disabled with a handful of chronic conditions, and I literally have a Dr's note saying I can't wear a bra or tight clothes, so no jeans either. Jokes on you bitchessss I get to wear comfy clothes all the time🤣

I don't think he would do something so specific, but now I am picturing the person getting up and then overly dramatic screaming as they fall down and then spending 10 minutes on the floor as the bullies call them floppy Fred or something lmao.

One of my problems with a lot of dhar man videos is the idea that in order to emphasize with people, you have to have experienced what they're experiencing. Like nothing really in the video tells me that if the football guy hadn't injured his leg and the cheerleader girl hadn't heard that story, they wouldn't care at least as much

me when I bump into walls, try and move forward using one hand ???? and shove my books off of my lap. it's so exhausting seeing nondisabled people playing disabled people, especially when the production team does zero research

Okay so I have Fibromyalgia and testing for other stuff and what I deal with looks very invisible to most but I lost it at the Shoe comment because HEELS we don't do those. Converse? Doubtful to wear those again. Orthopedic insoles. ABSOLUTELY 💯
