If your naga mouse wheel behaves very odd/crazy when scrolling this is probably what is wrong with it and a way to fix it.

before doing this: just use a straw and blow in to the hole where the mousewheel is, mainly the right side. I've had this problem for 1 month now and i fixed it this way

Fixed it, thank you. 2 things to add - under the green wheel where the copper was I found some kind of black dirt/corrosion that i was able to easily remove with some rubbing alcohol to ensure a better contact. Then on reassembly I used the bottom of a hot coffee mug to reheat the teflon pads so they'd lay flat and stick better on the underside of the mouse.

For anyone looking to get their mouse skates/feet back on after pulling them off, try cleaning all the gunk off and use some fresh double-sided tape. 3M Scotch Poster Tape has been working well for me. Trim the right length off the roll, stick the feet to the sticky side, trim around them carefully with scissors and peel the other side off when you're ready to put them in place. For easier access in the future, punch some holes into the pads where the screws go. Thanks for the video. Disassembled my naga last night to look for answers and was astonished by how much junk was inside. Clearing it out didn't help with the problem (didn't seem like it would after seeing how it was built..) so research on the scroll wheel led me here. Very useful.

I fixed it. I didn't even use glue, the little thingy didn't close as good as when it had the 4 rubber heads, but after assembling everything back, it worked like a charm. Now let's see how long it lasts. Cheers for sharing the knowledge.

someone else here mentioned it, you can wedge a piece of an old credit card or anything solid and thin in that box that houses the part and it will force it to close.

FYI for the 2012 edition, you don't need to take anything out; you can see the green wheel and the 'bump' in the copper plate that touches the grooves, and you can twist a small screwdriver in there to make it contact more; it has the added benefit of more defined 'scroll notches' too, so that's nice.

I would just like to say, thank you DHYohko. This worked perfectly well for my Razer Mamba 2015 as well. For those that have my model, take care: The wire attached to that micro switch is soldered on to the board, the white connector you see is just to space them to prevent a short. As I pulled on the white connector I yanked them out of the PCB board, get your solder iron ready with steady hands, take note which wires go where and you will be fine. Good luck. :)

First, It's great that most people were able to rememdy this by blowing in the wheel. However, I blew all kinds of ways even with compressed air and nothing worked. This video helped. I was not able to bend the "D" piece without completely removing it, but I would suggest that the tension in the D piece isn't the issue. I think it has to do with the contact between the green piece and the bottom of the square box which is what senses the movement. There are 3 contacts on the bottom of the green piece that touch contacts on the bottom of the box. I cleaned the bottom of the box and the contacts while everything was taken apart. I didn't use any crazy glue, I was only able to sort of mash the top plate against the D and hold it together while I slid it back into the plastic piece that holds it in place on the mouse. However, once it was mounted back in, the problem was fixed, so if you're scared of using crazy glue, try that. Thanks for the video!

I didn't try blowing in it, but I didn't see a lot of dirt or anything when I took it apart. And the friction on the wheel is noticeably better after the fix. I didn't realize how loose the connection had got over the years. An easy fix, and considering how much the naga cost totally worth it. Thanks.

When I took out the keypad side I accidentally pulled out the white line connecting to the side keypad! BUT, I found out that it actually clips in there and is removable. So don't freak out like I did if that happens. I followed this video perfectly (even the super glue), and it fixed my mouse. Blowing works for like 20 seconds or less. Like he says, it's a connection problem, not a dust problem. Blowing didn't work, and this worked perfectly! Thanks a mil!

Worked for me! Thanks! Tip: You can substitute the glue if you cut a 2mm broad ribbon of transparent tape and wrap it around the side of the problem part. Less risk of glue getting into the mechanism and easier to open up again if the problem should come back.

Thanks for this video. The mouse wheel jumping has been annoying me for about six months. I followed the steps provided directly and it seems to be working. I think a big component of mine was the amount of shit inside the mouse. I went at it with some compressed air and a full head of hair's worth of dust was collected. I messed up the four pegs a little bit but I think I was able to repair that. If it breaks, it breaks. I've used this mouse for almost six years now.

I can't thank you enough! The wheel snapping was driving me crazy and this video solved it! This process works for Razer Epic Naga Chroma too. The only difference on inside of a mouse is presence of a battery and because of it the connector for top part is moved to the side.

i have the Razer Naga EPIC Chroma and this video is almost identical to what i am working with. The spring is a little different meaning you have to take out the green wheel piece all the way and pull the little metal pieces up (i also got a tiny piece of cotton and cleaned it out in there because it was very dirty) but did everything else in this video and my mouse wheel is working like a freaking champ! Kudos to you sir and thank you for making a video of this.

I have a wired Razer Mamba Elite. I actually bought a decoder from Aliexpress, but upon opening up the mouse, I realized the connector was different so I wasn't able to use it. So instead, I first tried dousing the decoder with alcohol. I let it dry completely and it fixed my jumpy scrollwheel issues. And for anyone else who is wondering, there are 3 screws for the wired Mamba Elite. 2 at the top under the feet, and 1 at the bottom under the feet.

This worked very well, thank you a lot for the guide Xionous & DHYohko. For those saying that is enough to blow with a straw, i was doing the same but with compressed air, and didnt worked. I disassembled the piece (is a potentiometer), and i saw that the cooper contacts worn out, so a bit more pressure is needed to work again. Of course, the ideal fix is to change the entire potentiometer, i tried with an old naga (2012), and the piece is different, so the goal is to find a similar potentiometer, or at least -eventually- i will disassemble other naga potentiometer and change only the contacts inside.

Been using the Blowing method for a couple months but now its really stuck... This video FIXED it... I didnt even have to cut open the small box, compressed air canister right thru the side opening of the small box works just as well as removing it, if not better, to avoid possibly breaking the part!

Thanks mate! I didn't go as far as deleding the metal plate, but this was def this square stuff involved into the "jumpy wheel" acting. I slided a little piece of paper folded into itself to prevent any parasite movement of the sensor connector into its platic case. The wheel is now a bit stuffer, but incrementing is acting normal. Good to go! Thanks again. (it was indeed full of dust too, but was not the problem)

Thanks bro I've been having this problem for 10 months now, and found the reddit post with the imgur gallery but didn't know how to open that little box since it wasn't explained. Followed your tutorial and even tho I wasn't able to perfectly close the box (and didn't have super glue either) I removed the whole wheel support to get a firm grip, and I was able to push the wheel in and make it stick. Mouse wheel is working perfectly now :)

Thanks for sharing this here man. It's much appreciated. I already had the screwdriver set out ready to tear into it and figure it out, then I double checked google. For all those questioning whether or not to do this, keep in mind, if it the repair DOESN'T work or somehow you manage to break something, you're still going to buy another Mouse. It's worth a try. Fixed my mouse perfectly. (I've already had to go in to shorten the USB and fix bad connections to the side-keypad. I really miss my V1 Naga, but I like how serviceable this version is.

Thanks! This worked like a charm for me. A tip for people using the wireless epic version, there is a big battery pack sort of thing in the wrist side of the mouse, so getting the 3 plates back on is a bit more difficult, but I found attaching the thumb grid part (left) with the top part first, placing it on the base, then wiggling the right side into the right place to be the easiest way to get it together. :)

Thanks for this video. I didn't use superglue though, I found a better way. Once you get the mechanism back in its plastic holder and snapped into place, jam thin pieces of cardboard between the plastic holder and the metal plate on the mechanism and this holds it together mechanically. If I need to get to it again, I can just take these pieces of cardboard out, no glue to contend with.

Before doing this : get an air can or duster , or simply just blow all the dust out where the little opening is between the two clicks and mouse wheel, and it should work. i had this problem for months and just blew air into my mouse and it worked... before fucking with ur mouse like this, try simply removing all the dust between ur left click mouse wheel and right click

While I don't have the Naga 2014 at this point now, I do have the Epic Chroma edition that came in '15. It's been amazing, until last weekend when the scroll started jumping. I feel it necessary for anyone currently having issues, try opening it up and blasting it with air. I done that and now it works amazing again. I also want to note, don't let any glitter around your gaming or computer area. That's what my issue was... So much glitter. #GottaDaughter

Took my Naga Chroma apart today after blowing into like other people have suggested didn't fix the issue. There was a lot of hairs and dust so I cleaned that out and put it back together, still didn't fix the wheel jumping. So I was going to give this a go but decided not to because I didn't want to cut the encoder in case I completely botch the process and completely break the part. I thought I'd find and buy a replacement encoder instead and just live with the jumpy wheel until then. Don't know why, but I flicked the encoder a few times with my finger before I put the mouse back together, to my surprize the jumping is gone! maybe flicking it unstuck the spring or something without needing to open it up. 😂

DONT OPEN THE MOUSE!! Blow air inside the mouse, on the right side of the scroll wheel button using your mouth or a straw!! Tilt the scroll wheel to the left and blow air inside the right side strongly. And if you use a straw, sqweeze the end of the straw with your fingers, make it flat, so it fits inside the space there a bit, not too deep inside. I saw this technique in a different video and it works! You're welcome :P

Thank you so much man! The only problem (which was my fault) is that the black stickers at the bottom of the mouse can get little bumps around the edges if you knife them up too hard. So, if you're going to do this, be careful! If you do happen to mess up your sticker (aka make the edges pop up), you can just cut the protuberances with a knife or push them down really hard.

I've been using this guide for a while now to fix my mouse but yesterday the fix stopped working. I decided to investigate further before throwing it away. I had assumed the contacts inside the scroll wheel were too far gone. To my surprise it it turns out this issue is not due to the lack contact but actually rust. The scroll wheel has raised copper contacts which are touching the a second set of contacts opposite to the green wheel on the inside. The issue is due to rust. I noticed two rings inside the scroll wheel where the copper contacts were touching.. Upon removing the rust i put the mouse back together again and it was working like new. TLDR: if the solution in this video doesn't work you'll have to remove the green circle and clean the opposite side.

I press the metal, but didn't work well. It makes the wheel become easier to scroll... conclusion, don't even roll on the page, game, whatever. =/ Edit: So I take away the metal piece. Both and looking the little green stuff i pull the cooper spike. I don't ripped from the place, just to let it more "tall" and them assembled all over again, used super glue just like in the video and it is working! I dunno for how long, but it is. The only difference is I can't feel the friction when I roll the wheel. It's totally smooth now, but working. Very thankful for the video, it helped me a lot. Ps: Even screwed things in the first... second... well in some tries, I didn't dislike the video. Best regards!

you also need to remove that green circular peace and clean contacts (be extremely carefull), mine was covered with burnt plastic, after i cleaned them now it works, it was abit trouble to assemble back that encoder but it works now, other option is replacing encoder all together. Its a shame how such expensive mouse uses such cheap encoder, instead of optical wheel encoder that mouses back in 90's had, those still work on my ball mechanical mouses after 20 years of usage.

When this happened to me I used a KONTOX spray on the indexer- a spray for cleaning of electrical contacts. The jumping stopped immediately.

Great video, but unfortunately my issue was that the little aluminum D piece was actually somehow quite damaged, so I'll need a new mouse altogether. That being said this video did help me find the issue. The metal really should be something other than aluminum for that piece though, as having such an essential piece be so flimsy seems strange to me.

It's a shame that people in razer company are not adressing into this, and changing all the broken units with this problem ..

This works really good, I did it twice to my naga. but could not do it a three-time had to buy the Naga mouse encoder (the piece in the video that is fixed) to replace the old encoder.
