I'm glad i find your channel. I'm pre diabetic and I had many trail and error trying to get a nice Hot Chocolate. Now I just do this 1 cup of hot water 1/2 tsp of stevia or fake sugar 1 tsp of 100% cocoa 1/4 cup of Oatly or Almond milk.

The powdered milk has sugars - whole milk has sugars. I make hot chocolate by taking good quality pure cocoa powder (like yours), mixed with a couple ounces boiling water, artificial sweetner (I use erythritol, allulose, or monkfruit usually) and then light cream. Light cream makes it very creamy and rich; I know you don't like the fat, but I'd rather have the little bit of extra fat in light cream which is zero sugars/carbs instead of your milk with the sugars in it. I make a scalding hot syrup with the cocoa and sweetener and then mix in the cream slowly and it comes out creamy and rich and delicious.

Ok! I've been looking for a Hot Chocolate mix that can be made with WATER. I'm NOT INTERESTED in lugging around a carton of milk or nut liquid, lots of these online. This seems to hit the target! Something in powder form with everything needed to make Hot Chocolate Drink and easy to transport and use on the go. Going to get the needed material and try this for sure. Thanks for your effort in putting this together. I'll get back with an update.

Thanks for sharing. I don't know if I'm diabetic, I was supposed to get tested but the doctor hasn't ordered my test yet. Having a lot of sugar makes me feel like my heart is going to stop beating. When I don't have sugar I feel shaking. I don't know what is going on. I want to be able to drink hot chocolate without feeling that it is going to bother me.

Not sure if you will ever read this but I'm trying to make this with Stevia how much Stevia should I use Mr.Davis ?
@angusmacgyver3673 Жыл бұрын
stevia alone leaves a weird after-taste, i use truvia as a sweetener. erythritol comes from grapes and pears and is a natural sweetener, and along with stevia extract, will NOT spike blood sugars. i know from experience. combine the erythritol with stevia extract, and you have Truvia. myself, i am trying to find out how much Truvia packets to use as most hot cocoa, all i taste is sugar, and the hot cocoa in the stores, is also super bad for a diabetic or prediabetic.

I'm a dialysis patient is there a substitute for the powered milk. I can not have milk
@DiabeticSavvywithDavisKnight4 жыл бұрын
Angelica, what a great question. Yes, have you considered non dairy creamer powders? Richs coffee rich creamer is a great alternative. Be certain to check with your doctors. I will be sure to add this question to our podcast with my co-host and nutritionist, Stacy Kosmen. Happy mew year.

Do you have a pre-made product with this recipe?
@DiabeticSavvywithDavisKnight3 жыл бұрын
Select, I am not sure that I understand your question. If you're asking if we make a premade product, not at this time. We are looking into offering custom products in the future. If you're asking if there's anything you can buy in the store yes there are a few but they typically use lower grade ingredients and don't taste very good. Hope this helps let me know if you need us for anything and thanks for reaching out. You rock!
