@Veggis92 Nope, Leoric's son was Diablo's vessel in Diablo 1. Dark Wanderer in Diablo 2 was the character we used in Diablo1(even if you played a class other than warrior, Dark Wanderer is the warrior)

@Zeiknox the diablo lore is great : The warrior was the son of leoric, named aldric??(i dunno 100%) and after he kills diablo he tries 2 jail the soulstone in himself ( i didnt watched the video here so if i say something that comes in this video sorry) - after 2 DAYS !! - aldric loses already against diablo and begins to seek the soulstone of baal - where he meets marius (from the d2 movies). the rouge from d1 is bloodraven btw. which u fight in d2 on act 1 :P

I'm confused, please respond/reply. So in the beginning of the video, it was talking about Lazarus smashing Diablo's soulstone to set Diablo free, but then later in the video, the Hero(warrior) defeats Diablo and puts the soulstone into his head.... Wasn't the soulstone destroyed by Lazarus in the beginning? Thank you

I love the Diablo game and story! I have been a fan ever since D1 was released and we had to descend down into the labyrinth. I also dont understand why some people dont like D3. I agree it is kind of short and easy however I am sure there is going to be a few expansions (with more characters and story) released with it that will make it much longer and harder and more interesting. I sure hope anyways lol, they definitly left alot of room to add expansions to. Anyways, love the game and story!!!

@TitanREW Like explained in the video, Diablo cannot fully possess the king therefore he set for Leoric's youngest son. The son is lured by Lazarus into the labyrinth, and a search for the prince starts the events of Diablo 1. This young prince is the possessed dude that we see at the end of Diablo 1

This is how I understand the whole thing. Aidan isn't the warrior players could play as in Diablo 1 he stands apart from them. He is a warrior by class but the warriors players played as were the numerous Adventurers, mercenaries, and returning soldiers seeking their fortune by banishing the darkness below the Cathedral. This is based on the "interview" between Abd al-Hazir and a nameless warrior who had an encountered with the Butcher.

You have to take multiplayer into account. Not every warrior, sorcerer, and rogue can be Aidan, The Summoner, and Blood Raven from Diablo 2. So as I see it yes Aidan was the "warrior" who slaughtered his way to Diablo and plunge the soulstone into his forehead in the cinematic but there were other "adventurers" there one of which was interviewed by Abd al-Hazir years later about his encounters in the labyrinth.

For good or bad Blizzard decided to ret-con things a bit to make the warrior a son of Leoric. Probably felt it made more sense to give a background to the warrior considering how key he is in events in the first two games.

Yes Keelay Lazarus smashes the Soulstone to free diablo and the wanderer only puts a shard of it into his own head. It is the graphics that make it look the same size as a normal soulstone. Lazarus is indeed originally corrupted by Mephisto while at the Zakarum church, he intends to find diablo and release him and he organises it so he goes with Leoric to tristram. Also the warrior is not the son of King Leoric (unless this is revealed in D3 somewhere), No-one knows where he is from, he comes

amongst the other adventurers who hear of there being treasure in the monastery in tristram. When he talks of freeing his brothers in the east, Deckard Cain mentions (in the book of cain) that he cannot remember him having any family. This would not be the case if he was the son of king leoric, making Albrecht his brother. Lawyered

I saw that too, I think they´re using the version of the Book of Cain, where it's says tah Aidan (Leoric's Son) was helped by the heroes playables in the game. I guess Blizzard only wanted a Real Name for the Dark wanderer. P.D. Sorry if my english is bad :-P.

I'm looking to get as much back story before D3 hits. I like these videos but my question is: Who does the player play as in D1? Are you the son who comes back and kills the king and becomes the wanderer? The only reason I thought that is b/c it seemed like he was the guy killing most of the bosses.

Diablo 1, was really scary game back when it was released (97, i was 6,5 yrs old back then) =P epic memories
