Diamondback recommends using exterior plastic protectants on the seal and top bed rail to help stop it from freezing together. I like using CarPro Perl diluted with water 1:1 on the plastic rail and seal and it does a pretty good job. Every month or so In the winter I reapply to keep it from freezing bad

You could also use car wax and clean and wax it up. Silicone spray also and clean the seal with that

I bought my Ram used (5 years old) and it had a BakFlip F1 installed that was completely worn out. I was pricing new ones and almost bought BakFlip MX4 for $1200. I then discovered the Diamondback cover and did a lot of research. I ended up finding a lightly used Diamondback SE for $800. The build quality is far superior when compared to the BakFlip. I'm so glad I went with the Diamondback, especially getting one for half price.

When I’ve moved things and folded it over like in the video, I’ll strap the top piece down using the anchor cleats. Or, I’ll just lift off the back and put it in the garage until I’m done hauling. Both options work well.

@@fishermanshane4658 I’ve never ever had WD-40 freeze on me, and I’ve done this numerous times in -10 degree weather here in Chicago. NOTHING you buy for a truck is ever 100% safe, but compared to the flimsy tri-folds and soft tonneaus these things are tanks. Same goes for water, nothing is 100% waterproof. This is just the problem with owning trucks. I guess though people nowadays are just too spoiled and expect everything to be perfect for them which isn't the case lol.

I didn’t even know they had a smooth, so I hopped on their site to check it out. Looks cool! Hey, I noticed I have the same truck and spray truck bed as you. I havn't bought the diamondback cover yet but I do want one. My concern is where the locking rod is at the cab end of the cover. Did you have to drill a hole for the rod to go in or did it clear the spray cover? Cause I didn't know since there is a several inches on each corner that sticks out where the rod wouldn't be able to lock under the bed edge
@thekevincornell4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. No, I didn't have to drill anything at all. The rods actually hangs under the lip of the truck bed. Plus, there are hangers that are installed on the diamondback to get a good adjusted tight fit. Hope it helps. Consider subbing.
