Diana Rigg is one of the most genuine among those interviewed. It's remarkable how unafraid she has been to say what is on her mind, to voice her opinion on matters fun or serious. There seems to be no careful shading of what she says for her career. In this interview, she was obviously in a buoyant joyous mood - and it causes her to be so utterly in the moment, listening carefully, reveling in the tales she relates. What a completely charming, (greatly) beautiful, fun, sweet, charming and funny woman! It is also a pleasure to see just how taken is Michael Parkinson (whom I've always liked) by Diana Rigg's vivacity and charm. You can see that he'd love to spend the day with her - and preferably not solely in a work capacity. But then who wouldn't? In later interviews on line, Diane Rigg is far more serious - thanks so much for posting this.

In her formative years, Dame Diana lived in India. The only place you will hear English spoken proper today is by the royals - and those who are expats from the old pink bits on the map (the British Empire). Actors who grew up in these regions - isolated from Britain, as its accent went down the dumper - came to Britain to find work. They include Cliff Richard, Felicity Kendal and Joanna Lumley (India) plus Richard E. Grant and Nigel Green (Africa) and newcomer Adhir Kalyan (both!)
