不同季节采的蜜会呈现不同的结晶状态，蜜蜂采不同的花酿出来的蜜也会有不同的颜色和味道……还有蜜蜂的“性格”也不一样，有的很“温顺”，很少蛰人，有的就很“傲娇”了，像树洞蜜就特别凶，主人家采蜜也要戴防护装备，而且只能一个人采，其他人碰了，明年蜜蜂就飞走不回来了……（蜜大哥和我说的，我也不知道为什么） 最后叮嘱大家，不要随意采食野生蜂蜜～ Honey collected in different seasons has different cyclization status. Honey collected from different flowers also has different colors and tastes. What’s more, bees have different “personalities”. While some bees are mild and gentle and seldom sting people, others can be fierce. For example, “tree hole” bees are very fierce. Even the beekeeper must wear protective gears when collecting honey. Moreover, they allow only the beekeeper to collect honey, otherwise, these bees will not return. (The Honey Guy told me so, but I don’t know why) Please do remember that do not eat wild honey randomly if you do not know it well.

fun fact: bees are actually animals that are capable of consenting to being farmed, and actually benefit from it. how do they do this? if bees stick around, they're happy with the beekeeper. if they're not, they just leave. they benefit from beekeepers taking some of their honey because if they have too much in their hive, it causes problems for them.

Couple stories related to the constant warnings: In the SW United States there is a honey that comes from a few particular spots that the Native Americans loosely call "Ghost Honey" or "Dead Honey". It's a very sweet, delicious honey that also happens to be made with a poisonous flower. If you eat this honey you'll be dead in about 6 hours without medical assistance. It looks and tastes exactly like "normal", safe honey. Another is a honey that comes from a few SE Asian counties where the bees make it from a plant that is hallucinogenic to humans. It also happens to be made by bees that live high atop certain cliffs (for some reason I don't recall). So every year men from the regions bring their climbing gear and brave the dangers to gather this honey that will essentially make you VERY intoxicated. So, in fact, do not collect honey from random flowers or unknown sources. It'll be made by whatever plants the bees found, safe or unsafe for human consumption.

The honey from the Mountain Laurel, a plant native to North America, is deadly. Is that the "ghost honey" you're talking about? Honey from rhododendron flowers can have intoxicating properties. Apparently it was occasionally used in ancient warfare to get the enemy "drunk" so that they could be easily picked off. The rhododendron plant is most numerous in the Himalayas and the foothills thereof, but can also be found in Europe, North America, and Australia. This honey is gathered by certain cultures for recreational purposes (getting high, and as a natural Viagra), but it is also dangerous to consume. Honey made from oleander flowers is also poisonous, but I've heard that it tastes very bitter, so deaths from that cause are rare. Oleanders are native to the Mediterranean region, but are now cultivated worldwide. All parts of the plant are poisonous so, although it makes a beautiful flower, it is not recommended to plant where children or pets may ingest it.
