DID HONDA CHEAT!? The "controversial" crowning of the Civic Type R!

In this weeks video we delve into the ongoing controversy around the new honda civic type R taking the top spot as the fastest front wheel drive production car around the GREEN HELL, BUT not all is what it seems...
With more and more information coming to the surface about the civic being "modified" its looking more than likely honda had a few tricks up their sleeve to gurantee it would knock off the carbon clad, stripped out Renault Megane RS Trophy R off of the top spot, which its held since 2019.

Maybe Mish could test standard cars back to back and all have to be standard on the same day but then again air temps and track temps will come into play 😭😭😭

The new Civic Type R was built specifically to beat the Trophy R's record time. For the fact that he is just half a second faster, that's really not a brilliant achievement. It also depends a lot on the driver. I think Renault could beat the time again. The Megane R.S is simply the best car for me.

Potentially mate... The biggest issue i think is that this version of the civic isn't available to the mass market so makes almost a mockery of the 'fastest production car' title

@@VersionOneUK Yes, i think the Civic Type R is a very good and fun car. But less functional and not as classy as the Megane R.S. Not even Audi offers such unique aerodynamics. First of all the huge diffuser, which is not to be found at all in this class. And that's reason enough why it remains the king of compacts. It also has some of the best sound ever. And the RS Vision headlights also make sense on the race track. The guys from Renault Sport simply know what is important. Greetings 🇩🇪✌

how come no one questions the lap time of the Renault Megane RS Trophy R? Christian Gebhardt drove one and was 15 seconds slower than the 'official time' of the Renault, and this dude has hundreds of records on the ring.

The questions were definitely there mate, i wasn't making content like this at that time either... I always thought it was bizarre the lap was even valid due to the car being 70+ grand to buy and there was know 5 cars spec'd in the 'nurburgring trim' too. I know most manufacturers are doing secret tweaks behind the scenes but like i said in the video, it doesn't make the lap any less impressive from the civic, just the lack of transparency made the lap look a lot more suspicious than it was really... Being a special unannounced model
