I used to smoke weed almost every night, before bed i would take one hit. I thought because it wasn't much that it wasn't a big deal. Your option on the subject helped me to stop. I have four kids, and I'm going back to school to finish my nursing degree, I told myself that if I could stop smoking, then I know I could go to school with multiple children. I know it sounds silly, but I had smoked almost every day since I was 12 years old so it was hard to break the habit. It feels so good to not have that hold on me anymore. Sometimes it would give me anxiety, something I never feel now that I don't smoke. I prayed and prayed and eventually i just didn't even want to be around it.

As Christians, we have to acknowledge that there will be illegals sent back that were otherwise peaceful, working, contributing members of society. Yes, they broke the law to flee from a country they didn’t feel safe in. Toxic empathy is relevant in the sweeping notion from the Left to think of all illegals in this way and to prioritize their rights above American citizens. The flip side of this is completely devoiding ourselves of empathy towards those that are under circumstances we couldn't possibly comprehend. We need to be able to accept all scenarios. To pray for all those near and far that are scared or in danger. We must be careful not to turn politics into our idol.

I’ve watched you for an awhile because I agree with almost everything you speak about. But owning a pit bull since he was a puppy I couldn’t agree with that. Yes there is a portion of pitbulls that are aggressive because they were raised that by by dog fighters or drug dealers. I believe there are many dogs that can be that aggressive as well, pitbulls shouldn’t be singled out. We should create more intense consequences to dog fighting so people stop creating dogs that way. However I do agree with banning all dogs on airplanes unless you really need it. Like if your blind or my sister who has epilepsy, etc. but no more emotional support. They don’t train them!!!

His legitimate service dog happens to be a rescue, and she’s part pit bull. He is able to live a full life (including flying) because of her. I believe Trump has always been on the side of “ right to life”. Maybe not completely like we would like him to be, but he’s one of the most pro-life Presidents( or candidates in modern history) we’ve ever had. He had an uphill battle getting elected, especially when swing states are divided, even more so than the rest of the country, and you have to do well in those states to get elected. He had to play politics in order to not play politics, if that makes sense. It doesn’t surprise me that he has taken some decisive steps on the side of our movement, and I expected nothing less.

I a dog lover see no trouble in bringing a small dog in a cage as carry-on. The person you saw with the pit bull was either an assistance dog or the owners were not obeying the rules. The rules are there and need to be observed. I feel bad that you like pets very much. I know families like this, and guess what? At least one of your kids will love them and/or will marry spouses that love them. I'm really sorry that your fear of dogs wasn't taken care of when you were small.

I felt the same way until I owned one. A pit bull actually killed my dog (who stepped in front of my mom to save her), so I hated them for a long time. But she changed my heart…God changed my heart. She was a gift from God. Just curious. Bc I have friends who would tell me this…I used to say that!…but they never had any experience with them. I don’t believe any dog breed is all bad and should be eliminated outright. I just don’t think that is moral or right.

I had a nurse anesthetist tell me that mostly all the dog attacks they deal with coming into the hospital emergency room needing surgery are from pit bull attacks. Some may have had good experiences with them but because they have a very powerful bite, and once they grab hold of someone, it is very difficult to break free from them. A friend of mine was attacked by a Pitt bull for no reason while walking across the street from where the Pitt bull leaped over a fence in front of its owner’s home. She had to go to urgent care to deal with the bites inflicted on her back side. I also read about a young 16 year old woman walking down her street who was attacked by two neighborhood pit bulls who left her in a coma after she was finally rescued by police. I would be cautious around these dogs no matter what your experience has been. They are animals and you do not know how they will react in different circumstances, and unfortunately the damage they can do can be life threatening.

Allie, why do you not like pit bulls? What has happened to you with a pit bull that makes you feel this way? I’m legitimately curious. I once felt as you did. A pit bull killed my dog. He was actually going for my mom, but my dog got in between, and she was bitten and died shortly thereafter. It was devastating, as she was more than a dog, she was my protector, my gift from God in a horribly hard and awful time in my life. She protected me physically and emotionally. I came to find that the owner of the pit bull beat the dog into submission whilst keeping it chained up. It wasn’t treated humanely. Nonetheless, my anger and grief was so present, I called the sheriff and animal control and the dog was euthanized. In that case actually it was for the best because next time that dog could have gotten loose and killed a child or someone else. My sweet baby girl gave her life protecting my mom. I hated pit bulls after that. And I was a dog lover all my life. My dad said he was part dog bc we could take in any stray, sometimes having 10 dogs at the house. But it wasn’t until my neighbor (different place) a few years later got a pit bull that my feeling completely changed. I was scared at first. Very scared. And didn’t like that the dog was there. I probably felt as you did that they should be banned. But that changed. My neighbor (it was her daughter actually that owned the dog) left and left the dog behind. My neighbor was not a dog person and neglected her. She was tethered outdoors. She became so thin and then became pregnant by some random wandering dog. She had the puppies and barely could walk-like what you see on those commercials. I finally shook myself awake and was appalled that I had t done something sooner. I fed her, took care of the puppies, found them all homes, and she became stronger. Through all this I realized she was so sweet, so loving, so kind. She had nothing mean about her and was so thankful for the help I gave her. My fear was subsiding about pit bulls and my attitude was beginning to change. My neighbor then took her to the humane society. I went to see her and found she was in the “back” and was going to be euthanized. BECAUSE she was a pit bull. This sweet baby was going to be put to death bc of the horrible atrocities done to this breed that has made them feared-through no fault of her own. I ended up adopting her. The next day. It was that urgent. She was the biggest lap dog and greatest snuggler there ever was! I started to learn more about pit bulls and what they really are and why some can be aggressive, etc. They have been treated so badly. Yes, there are some that are bred to be mean and aggressive and dogs that will fight to the death. But through education I learned that pit bulls are ranked as one of the friendliest dog breeds-even HIGHER than Golden Retrievers AND Labs!! I actually wasn’t shocked by that-after owning a pit bull-she was amazing. Sadly, she died about 6 years ago. Too young. But the love she gave will live forever. And how she changed my heart toward the bully breeds. Her name is Duchess. I’m so excited to see her again in heaven one day! I’n sure you have done research, Allie, about pit bulls and found all the bad stuff out there. And maybe you’ve had a bad experience with them. But I honestly hope you can have a positive experience one day with a pit bull that can help you see just how wonderful they are. And hopefully change your heart toward these incredible and loving companions. 🐾🦴🐶

Pitbulls! You might enjoy our pitbull story: Our neighborhood has 2 large pitbulls the owner can barely control. They often wander. They are pretty friendly until they see another dog. They will immediately attack any dog. The owner must have a jeep because one day they walked onto our driveway and when we opened our jeep door to try and get in, both dogs pushed me aside and jumped into our jeep! We couldn't get them out! We drove by our next door neighbors, on their porch. We stopped in their driveway. We asked for a number or help but they were clearly afraid of the dogs too. The pitbulls' faces were right next to ours. We prayed to the Lord! We stayed where our next door neighbors could see us in case the pitbulls got aggressive. And amazingly, the pitbulls stayed calm. It was a true Daniel/Lions Den moment! We called the police, and the dogs went to a safe place with him till the owner could be contacted. I shook for a whole day after that excitement! We LOVE dogs and I think that came across to the pitbulls. They were gorgeous and healthy. Just huge!😮😅

I can't get behind the pit bull thing. Sure, in the airport, that's one thing (for all dogs that are not service animals). My neighbor had the sweetest bully pit. She would come in our yard and play with our small weiner dog and rot/lab mix. She would play with my kids. She was the sweetest well mannered dog I've ever met. All our neighbors seen her playing with my kids and my dogs. One day she left our comjoining properties and went next door to a man known for being violent and cruel to his wife and kids. All she did was walk in his yard sniffing the ground...before we could even walk over to get her back,he shot her in a spot he KNEW she wouldn't die instantly and her owner sadly had to finish her off. The reason he shot her...she was a pit. That's it. She was being threatening or anything. As a Christian woman how could you be for the killing of these dogs. Ban pit bulls? I'm only assuming you mean kill them to eradicate them, yes?

Allie, I live in California and I'm proud to say I'm on the Right. I have an issue here in California. I find that most of the local communities near me are reassuring the non- violent illegals that they will be protected from ICE. And some are claiming Sanctuary cities. Catholic Charities is among one of many local organizations offering support. They are passing out flyer and posting TV ads on what to say and how to protect themselves from Immigration Officer. All the local schools are also participating in this. My worry is the Opposition that Immigration Officials may encounter here in California. I myself l have called in the tip line. To inform Ice of housings whete their are many families living. Up to 3-4 families in 3 bedroom homes. There are sections of my town where they are housed. This is happening everywhere here in California. My city is 20% illegals. Some communities are more. It would be amazing to me if this administration can accomplish cleaning up California. Please don't forget about us Right Wingers here in the middle of California corruption. This State needs a good house cleaning.

@ Belgian malinois and Rottweilers are also known to attack unprovoked, just as any large protective breed, even chihuahuas are inherently hot tempered and I know many people who have had their kids bit in the face causing permanent damage by one. I work with dogs so it is a general hazard of all dogs. I can agree they shouldn’t be allowed on planes but banning a breed entirely because they have the capacity to attack of their own volition would then mean needing to extend to any dog of that nature. I just think the comment about pit bulls specifically is an ignorant one.

Commenters here are very ignorant about pit bull breeding and the severe issues surrounding this breed. These dogs cause more injuries and deaths than every single other breed combined and they are a relatively small fraction of the dog population. This is NOT a problem with individual dogs or bad owners, it is a problem with how they have been bred. This cannot be compared to gun control either - guns don’t randomly kill children on their own. Pit bulls do, daily. Educate yourselves. Just because you have a nice pit (and I’m glad yours has not had issues!) does not mean there aren’t massive problems with the breed.

I used to engage in the pitbull debate often, but I found that so many pitbull owners/advocates are basically fanatical about the breed, and trying to have a nuanced discussion with them is like talking to a brick wall. @ I'm not entirely sure what point you're trying to make? Being a Christian doesn't preclude you from being wrong, nor is it a shield that excludes you from criticism. You can be a delusional and/or fanatical Christian just as easily as a non-Christian. This has nothing to do with religion anyways, but an objectively dangerous breed of dog that was selectively bred with specific inherent traits to make it more effective at fighting and killing. Those traits are still very much present in their DNA, which is why they are more dangerous and deadly than all other breeds combined.
