The Redline Fuel cleaner as far as we know has the highest amount of PEA cleaning agent. The internals must have been clogged.

Try using those CRC QD Electronic Cleaner on the coil pack connection plug, then use a light air compressor to get rid of any dirt. I was dealing with a similar odd misfire issue with my friend's car, installed a new OEM ignition coil with spark plug & the code would still randomly disappear and re-appear. After cleaning the ignition plug, the code hasn't come back for 2 months now even with the colder weather in the NYC area. Also my mechanic told me to avoid using too much fuel injector cleaner too soon/frequently ( I understand why you're doing it) since it can damage some of the fuel lines from his experience. If you're not losing any coolant, your heater exchange/valley plate seals should be fine. I have a 2010 LS460 with 127K miles and the previous owner fixed the valley plate leak at 100K miles before I bought the car. Nice car by the way!

2:20 these cars do NOT have oil consumption issues. Have you had a test done on your engine? The only ls460’s that suffer from this are any 2008-2009 that had the valve spring recall done that was done incorrectly. It was a VERY TEDIOUS job that if not done right would result in oil consumption later in life. Your year was not affected by this and therefore does not consume oil. The valley plate seal should have been updated from the factory. I have heard of SOME 2013’s still being affected it’s possible that yours may not have been affected.

Sounds like the previous owner might not have used the correct fuel grade, and ran it empty on gas too often making the thicker contaminants going through the injectors and really clogging them up. Always use premium fuel on the LS and make sure to use a fuel system cleaner at least twice a year to ensure proper function.

Most of them do, my ISF did as well. The seals and gaskets just start to deteriorate after so many miles

His isf may have been affected for the same reason depending on what year his was because that engine was also affected by the recall.

I had the 1991 LS400, 2001 LS430, and 2013 LS460L. Out of all those models, the 2013 LS460L was the only one that had any issues with burning oil. This is my experience and I also heard that it is common with the LS460s.

Do you mean the ignition coils? I did that, and so did the dealer. And I replaced all the spark plugs too…changing injectors will require taking off the harness and intake manifold to access the valley of the V8
