Great guy Hershel, but Chael must have misunderstood him about the 1980 Olympics. Hershek was talking about his track teammate at University of Georgia, Mel Lattany. Mel was a 100 meter sprinter on tbe 1980 Olympic Team, when President Carter boycotted the Olympics. Hershel was also a 100 meter runner at Georgia & had World class speed, but was between high school & college in the summer of 1980. He' hadn't had a chance to try out for the Olympics yet. The rest of the stuff, that you say is true, as far as I know. I knew him and Mel on the track team. He was a Freshman, when Mel was a Senior. There was a Sports illustrated cover story about Hershel in '81 or '82, which made him sound superhuman, & I'm sure, that some people thought, that it was an exaggeration, but it wasn't, he was superhuman! Chael I think there is somthing, that you may be overlooking. As you know or may know, a couple of weeks ago Curtis Razor Blaydes was knocked out by former heavyweight championship contender Francis Ngannou, now you may not think much of that but let me offer you this: Curtis Blaydes was knocked out by Ngannou we have already covered that, but Ngannou's record still holds a loss to one Derick Lewis.. stay with me here. Derick Lewis before his title bout with DC was last knocked out by UFC Legend Mark Hunt, who was submitted via arm bar by none other than Gegard Mousasi. Now we all know Gegard has a decision loss to former middleweight champ Lyoto 'The Dragon' Machida, who tapped out to another former champ who goes by the name Luke Rockhold. Heard of him? Yeah thought so. Now let me ask you this, who was it who beat Rockhold for the championship? Thats right, Michael Bisping knocked him out in the first! Stay with me here cause this is where it gets interesting, Bisping was then knocked out by Gastelum, who lost his undefeated streak to none other than current welterweight champ Tyron Woodley. Now you might be wondering who was the last guy to actually beat Tyron Woodley? This guy seems to have had the belt for a long time now. Well that guy was none other than current bellator champ Rory McDonald, who was finished in one of the greatest WARS of all time by former champ RUTHLESS Robbie Lawler, who might I add was absolutely picked apart by former Lightweight champ RDA.. hence the word 'FORMER' Yeah RDA lost his title, but who to? None other than the self proclaimed most voilent man in MMA history Eddie Alvarez, who then went on to lose his championship belt to the notorious one. So I think that begs the question, just how good is conor mcgregor?

Herschel walker was not on the 1980 Olympic track and field team. Could you look it up? He might have competed to make the team, but he was not in the top 10 in any event. Carl Lewis was the star of track and field back in the early 1980s.

I've heard a rumor that Herschel Walker had never lifted a weight until he got to college... When he got to the college football weight room, someone had asked him to try out the bench press which already had 355lbs on it. So without hesitation, he sat down and instead of taking some weight off, he benched it with perfect form, no problem... FIRST TIME BENCH PRESSING AT 18 YEARS OLD AND HE BENCHED MORE WEIGHT THAN 99% OF THE HUMAN POPULATION WILL EVER BENCH PRESS IN THEIR LIFE!
@sosuapimp84496 жыл бұрын

Make the Olymics twice in two different sports 10 years apart is an amazing athletic accomplishment. He is considered by man as the greatest running back in college football history. He spent 3 years in the USFL before going to the NFL, where he currently ranks 12 in NFL history in all purpose yards, 2nd when he retired. Then at 48 years old won two MMA bouts. He may be the greatest athlete in human history, definitely a candidate. I hated Sonnens fight persona, but this is about the 3rd podcast I've seen and they've all been pretty interesting.
